I rode to Reynella parkrun from Athelstone last Sat (29July 2023), almost exclusively on bike paths & was on the Sturt Ck linear park which linked here. However, the Sturt Ck path once you crossed Sturt Rd veered around onto Marion Rd but you could just cycle along the wide footpath or bike lane next to Marion Rd which passes under the big bridge then intersects South Rd near the Southern Expressway Veloway start. The way you went in this vid where Sturt Ck meets South Rd was fenced off so obviously doing works there. But still very close in the location.
Hi, thanks for the update 😃 I saw they were doing some works there a few weeks ago and had to detour on footpath, hopefully they finish soon 🤞 great ride/run/ride Atherstone to Reynella! 🚴♀️🏃♀️🚴♀️
Cheers :) There seems to be always some sort of works on this path but I guess it's quite a long path so good they keep it maintained @@CyclewithSerafina
I assume they plan on extending the path around the SA water land down to the other side of the road, opposite where the Hungry Jacks Path ends. This "missing link" has been a big mess for years. The bit of the footpath you used, was signed as a shared use path for several years, despite not looking like one.
From what I understand, there's a bit of work going on in the area to create safer, better access and infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians, fingers crossed!! 🤩🚴♀️🚴
Hopefully some day we can cycle from the city to Victor Harbor on a bike path ......without encountering a car !
That will be amazing! 😃

Thanks for that info, taking my 2 (now much older) sons and our wheels down there this arvo to burn our legs and butts!
Awesome!! How'd you go?? 😃 did you find it ok? they've done the path up a bit since I did the video
@@CyclewithSerafina Seriously busted my 53 yo guts! Some guys flying past us on inclines must be on ebikes. Cheats! Great buzz coming down.
Lol yep! It always messes with my head when someone goes flying past on an ascent... "surely they aren't fitter than me! oh, ok, it's a e-bike' 🤣
