It was simply practice for a show. No need for a bow really but since skaters gave him space and audience were in awe, he gave a simple courtesy. He bows to everyone come competition time and in competition practice.
@@RM-uc4mffour years late but let me clarify my comment because the meaning was clearly lost. I was referring to competitions not this outdoor practice. He always rushes through his bows when he finishes his program instead of soaking it in and i personally believe he should have let himself get more claps.

I don't think anyone was leaving in the middle of his run through, but there were people passing by the rink.
