I just bought this intake for my X1 and it looks amazing. The turbo noise/fluttering is heard but very quiet. I don’t have a tune yet just the Dinan boost controller and you can definitely feel more torque at higher speeds. I think after you remove the intake resonator and upgrade to hard pipe you’ll hear more turbo spool.
So, you just put a higher air box cover on with an open side to pull in more engine hot air, so the intercooler now has to work harder to cool the air back down. Maybe I'm missing something?
That’s what the intercooler does. That’s its job. The tune also adds more psi, which makes the turbos work harder, which also generates more heat. I don’t feel like the intercooler is a weak point or a bottleneck here.
@@Just1MoreMod Awesome, I plan to do the Dinan boost thing, then a throttle controller and got to thinking I might do the intake too. My DME is locked and I'm not sure I want to deal with that for bm3. But getting under 7 seconds in this car with just the booster and intake is great! Plus the sound is likely more fun too. What's your 0-60 now with bm3?
No, I don’t think deleting the muffler on a the x1/x2 (or any 4 cylinder car) would sound good. Check out my Dinan Exhaust video for a decent sound upgrade.

Nice! It really is a great intake 👍🏼
Agreed that your eyes don’t lie, the gloss meter is just a number
Getting this for my Countryman.
Sweet! Enjoy!

Nice video!! I have a 2021 X1 and went with the CTS Intake.
Nice! Solid choice as well 👍🏼
In thinking about getting a CTS intake for my 2021 X1, how do you like it?
Do you know of any intake for F39 X2 M35i that makes more turbo sound or flutter?
There MAY be an MST intake that works for the Mini Coopers that also works on the X2’s…
What mods did you have prior to the intake when you did this test?
Just a Dinan boost controller. I’ve now since moved on to BOOTMOD3 stage 2 flash.

@mcmillanvideos Awesome. Hoping to do a new 0-60 test with the flash very soon!
i have an 2018 x2 i need a tune to hear the intake.?
An intake would more easily help you hear the turbo spool. However, with more boost from a tune, that would make it easier too.
@@Just1MoreMod do yu recommend a muffler delete for starters.?

@@Just1MoreModso much money lol
Lol, I hear ya 😁
What is that intake engine mic activation makes it so much louder
It’s a wireless Sony lapel that I taped down under the hood 😎
Weird I hear my turbos spin down all the time.
Intake without a proper tune. This guy is something else.
😱
these cars have a Mass Airflow Sensor so they adjust to the airflow so no tune needed.
I feel like an Air intake upgrade on an already massive air filter is such marginal gains you might as well not do it at all..
How about using a 5/16" nut driver on gear clamps...
BINGO! That’s the way lol. Live and learn 😉

Sounds more muscle-like
Yeah, there’s a little bit more “throatyness” 😎
