My mom used to do this. It's torture. You learn how to solve conflicts with your fists, not with words. Im saying that as someone who has hurt many people for no reason but my bad self control. Im terribly sorry but it's my mothers fault that I am who I am. Probably going to end up in jail some day.

I grow up in China. Got hits from my grandpa sometimes for no reason. I asked him why, His words ‘No why. Just keep you in a good discipline. Making sure you wouldn’t do bad thing.’ So I started to dodge sometimes, cuz I wasn’t do anything bad, but I was still getting hits from him. When I grow up, I joined my first Muay Thai class at Montreal, my trainer told me ‘wow, you r really good at dodging.’ ‘Yeah, well, that’s one of my surviving skills.’

Eh, it depends. Some don't. But one time I was 8 and made a prank. My daddo hit me so hard that 10-15 minutes later I pulled a 10cm string of clotted blood out of my nose.
The prank? Daddo was playing a videogame and just got past a hard part ... I pushed a key and sent him back.
      Edit:
And... and it wasn't an isolated event. One time I was 3 or something like that. My parents were yelling and arguing. I mocked their arguing with some gibberish "blah blah blah" and got slapped that moment.

And wdym by how much pain lol, u only need to spank the kid when he or she behaves badly and tell them not to make the same mistake again, you dont have to straight up fking wwe the kid. Just a spank in the butt or the hand not too hard but not too weak to make sure the kid knows he or she is behaving badly. HOWEVER, the face is a no go, never hit ur kids in the face

Hi, Man. Wow, as a kid who grew up in Russia, I know something about being beaten up...not ruthlessly or on everyday basis (still, a Jewish family) but as a punishment for some misdeeds. Btw, my great grand dad was killed in Bulgaria, as a Russian soldier, during the Russia-Turkey War, fighting the Turks on the Russian side. Bulgarians have always been kind to Jews, even during the Holocaust. Thanks, friend.

What i mean is, as long it was accidental, and i honestly showed regret, and i honestly was the first one apologising and trying to fix - i would be ok!
    ...but..
    ...
In case i intentionally did something bad, or disrespect, just because of evil, free willing... They would beat the hell out of me!!! Really, really hard! Believe me XD

I have one child, a son, and taught him to be empathic and to be respectful towards all people regardless of gender, sexual orientation (his best friend in HS is trans), races, religions, nationalities, etc., but I never hit him.
