Zeppelin is better than all newer bands with the exception of Greta Van Fleet - they're amazing live. I saw Greta live in Philadelphia on 29 December 2019.
Iron Maiden seemed to base their entire career on this one song. Think about it, the pounding drums, the fast tempo (especially a lot of 1977 performances), the galloping bass line, the wonderfully constructed and heavy guitar work, and the lyrics that deal with mythology and fantasy.

Page's Magnum opus. Impossible to duplicate the studio version in a live setting because of all the complex layering Jimmy had done. But, IMO ALS remains the ultimate Zeppelin song. Powerful and soaring, it takes you away to Valhalla or Kashmir on the wings of a dragon. Truly the Hammer of the Gods.

I feel you man. I mean I'm 21 right now, I grew up listening to Zep but I never even had a chance to see my fav band live. That hurts a lot, that they were in a whole other time. I mean its only been 30 sum years but it may as well have been centuries before my time. All I can do is listen to and appreciate their music and be thankful that I wasn't weaned on the teet of Beiber and the likes. Truly the greatest band to ever walk the earth.

I was an 18-year-old college freshman eagerly awaiting the fall 1980 tour when I would get my first chance to see my favorite band live. They surely would have played Dallas (where their stage effects company Showco was HQd). So you can imagine... And then about 10 weeks later, John Lennon.

I wonder why it was the worst selling. I was still just a teenager when it came out, and being typically capricious, there was something different in style, I suppose. Although, it does have much the same ambiance as Houses of the Holy, which I enjoyed very much. Anyway, it is clearly a great album, one which climbs higher in my appraisal over time. Who can deny this song is showcase to the members and to the band?! Still not sure if there is something that can be pointed to which made for such a drop in sales.

This '1980 European Tour just... For some reason it's very unsettling for me. I remember waking down Perry Avenue in East Bremerton, Washington, with my friend Chris Daily the morning we found out about John Bonham. We were saving the ten dollars each for a ticket to the upcoming American Tour date in Seattle. I'm filled with dread just remembering that rainy dark morning.
They did it at pretty much every show I've listened to from the 1977 US Tour thru the end of the 1980 tour. Like Gary says, check the version out from Los Angeles in 1977 ....absolutely incredible!!

Songs from the 1977 Seattle performance were planned for inclusion on the Led Zeppelin DVD. Unfortunately, unlike the Knebworth and Earls Court shows the master tracks for Seattle are lost so it will never be officially remastered and released. My theory is that Jimmy intended for No Quarter, The Song Remains The Same and Ten Years Gone to be included but they were cut from the project completely when the Seattle footage didn't work out.
I just loved Jimmy's idea of a live album spanning the bands career from early shows in 68 all the way to over Europe in 1980!! A few tracks from the 2 tours of Japan maybe something from Australia Bath in 70 or stuff from Knebworth. What fun that would be putting together, you just know Page would put together a wonderful package with a book of photos and the production would be top notch!!

I still feel that sting, not only for the loss which goes without saying but I was finally going to see my favorite band and the idea that it will NEVER happen will always give me a ache in the pit of my stomach, I was that close! Finally just saw VanHalen w/DLR and that was nice to do but it werent no Zep!
