@@SJ-Lakui I think 3-85 has to be worse than 2-80 on the virtue that it completely ignores Burst resistance, right? 2-80 is bursty but it at least attempts to do it's job.
Unfortunately, the fact that it ignores burst resistance just makes it almost unusable. If it instead treated all bits as if they has high burst resistance, it would be dang-near incredible.
@@zankye Its weirder because the whole reason they designed 85 to be so different from other ratchets was seemingly just to take the part that squeezes the bit shaft. There was no reason to doing this lol
The point is supposed to be that it has the same burst resistance on low resistance bits as on high resistance bits. So putting it on hexa or semi flat is pointless. So this is only worthwhile on low resistance bits on tall combinations. Disk ball, glide, Elevate, High Needle maybe. But I just don't think we have a single blade really good at downsmash, and being tall is generally just a disadvantage, so 3-85 is a nice experiment in giving tall ratchets a unique benefit. But it's not good enough.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT. The purpose is seeing on stamina, defense, attack if it is possible to work and make sense. Disc Ball is a bit that is notorious to be bit bursted even on 60 height and worse on other heights so doesn't really make sense. Elevate having no resistance moving a tall height would just get bit bursted. Glide is the same vain as doing Ball. Needle and High Needle could be fine but Hexa has better tanking ability and stamina to me so it was preferred.
@@zankye Yeah, I agree that bit bursts make a lot of those bits almost pointless. (Maybe bit bursts should give less points than ratchet bursts or something) But I think the only way tall height will ever work is by using it in very specific combinations, it's probably always going to suck for generic gameplans. I'm just hoping for better downsmash blades, or maybe make taller ratchets have a decent amount more weight.
What a strange design choice. I think they don't even intend for down smash in X, I think they expect you to tilt launch and hope to god you can block hits.
@nmr7203 maybe, but even then the tall height doesn't do you any good. Honestly I hope they focus more on making ratchets interesting in future releases. I don't think every ratchet should have a variant for every height, because taller is just almost always worse.
I find it not bad I'd try using it for evasion combos or combos that helps by being above the opponent like Hells hammer 3-85 H or R would hit beys more violently or why using it with wizard arrow and needle makes a oddly good definition bey
Minmaxing height with SW 3-85 HN/HT, you can get a lot of use out of the plastic contact and round shape. Whale wave is fun on it too! 3-85 RA is fun and goofy to mess around with, and got some good KOs. LeonCrest was goofy on it, I liked it a lot! Helped the wall gimmick a lot
@nmr7203 the part itself doesn't really provide a lot of basic use tbh, it requires very specific stuff to work, tho even then, besides SW, we don't really have anything specifically that utilizes it. I think it could thrive with the right parts, those don't really exist rn sadly!
@wookiecharmander4202 a actually tried that, and while the gimmick does work, it's so light it's not really good at anything. Not like WG was good in the first place, but this is definitely a neat use for it!
I just thought of the funniest niche to use it on: GhostCircle 3-85 High Needle, Ghost is raised (exposing the ratchet underneath) so I thought maybe the tall height will make it hard to hit
I think the issue is just that height matters too much this gen. If you're not running 60 or 80 you typically dont use it. Being too high exposes you to low attackers like shark edge and bite croc. As cool as a tall ratchet like that is, and as great as the height might be for stamina or defense builds. 3 is just a bad ring for that to begin with. The 85 disk would probably work better on something like 7 or 5, maybe 4? Not 3 with its low burst resistance
The only thing I can think of is putting together combinations that would aim to down smash the opponent, I am thinking Hells Hammer or Viper Tail (yes Viper Tail, I found it works well when going for down smash or something similar if I misidentified what down smash is). Thus, pairing them both with 3-85 and a tall bit like Rush, or High Taper. Otherwise, if you want to go for a more stamina-based combination with the logic stating high height means higher stamina, I guess you would need to use something like Unite, Point or Gear Point (?)
I originally thought that you could use 3-85 on rod with free ball, to get more stamina for the ratchet cus free ball has less stamina (from my experience) but apparently it bursts too much
Imo, this thing just have zero use and nobody can convince me otherwise, not only this thing can damage your blade's ratchet holder, it just so god damn light, even 9-60 is heavier than it, and that's embarrassing, 80 height at least still have a use because they have the weight and tiny control of lower gravity to give them a reason to be useful, meanwhile 3-85 have nothing. My only hope for this thing now is the possible dlc parts can be insert in the bottom, otherwise, this thing is just S tier in uselessness.
It not only bursts a lot but it also is light weight. My first thought would be to try hells hammer with it because of the down hit though it would probably increase its own bursting.
The problem I see with the ratchet is that since it is the deciding part as far as bursting or not bursting is concerned, those that measure more than 60 or 70 are not feasible, I think Takara should have concentrated on making the ratchets with the contact points listed and then making others with different shapes like in the previous generation.
50 much more likely given there is a slot for it on the ratchet height chart that hasn’t been filled. Maybe there will be a 45 at the shortest, but there is no way that we will get a 40 ratchet.
@nmr7203 yep exactly, we need some blade that can cover the ratchet for 3-85 to be even ok-ish, but again if something like that gets released its just gonna be better on 70 and 80 ratchets
I remember plastic recreations are pretty light, and SilverWolf depends if it’s some type of stamina or defense type. Best chance is to try to get underneath SilverWolf and get a burst, or go crazy and try to Xtreme finish SilverW. If you have a 60 height ratchet then you should be good.
It might be the worst ratchet, but it's still the best 85 height ratchet.
2:80 begs to differ

I am not a fan of 3-85 but what combos have you worked with 3-85? Do you like this ratchet? Let me know!
None
CDG 3-85 Elevate seems a funny build but it works for me
Silver Wolf 385 ball/discball/freeball
Whale Wave 385 quake
I better not see anyone saying its bursty because u just gotta launch and dodge
None. There aren’t any 😂

I wonder how tall it is with Rod 3-85DB. Maybe it can be so tall the ratchet cannot be hit?
Then again, I doubt the height is that crazy.
Add leoncrest blade for maximum height

I saw that 3-85 can damage your blade is it ratchet specific issue or does it damage some blades and others not?
Due to the different locking system it has when the ratchet is locked in it is hitting the inside parts so that is a 3-85 problem
@@zankye beat me to it

I like using sphinx cowl 3-85 B the blade has good downward attack and the bit helps with the blades terrible stamina.
interesting
Hmm... I wonder if it's good on Scythe. Scythe has pretty decent down smash and good stability, as seen on the early meta.
This might be a case where the bit and blade aren't out yet.
I think if you have a balanced Rod it’ll work for stamina
fair nuff
when will we get a frog blade
Probably worth mentioning the damage it does
Have you tried launching it using reverse x dash launch technique?
i hope we will eventually get a metal fight 230 spin track equivalent
Im messing with a tyranno beat 85 ball right now
Should have had a fixed high resistance (rubber?) with a strong bit grip, it’s also more than .5 which is painful
I love the relationship you have with your mom I wish my mom knew how to beyblade
Zank going full villain arc by taking peoples beys when they lose 😂
I tried 3-85 on Ptera Swing flat and it was okay but like why use it over 3-60 or 3-70?
Super Low burst resistant it seems, but tall can be good sometimes. I guess... Lol
Hey zankye could you do a tutorial on how to download the Japanese BEYBLADE X app if you’re in the us or anywhere else in the world
What about Wizard Rod 3 85 DB? It can totally wobble more and get a few extra seconds at the end of a match!
the be funny but i would fear the burst risk

50 height is confirmed lowest since the original launch you can technically have 40 height by using a low bit

Try hells hammer on 3-85 needle
The color is awesome at least
does 3-85 actually damage your beys?
It’s a direct force so probably
Try this :Leone crest 3-85 db
Not as bad as 2-80
hell chain 3-85HN maybe it would work
I think it's not the 3-85 bit good it's the blades that good because you chose rod wolf and tyrano
I wouldn’t run 385. I had 2, reason is it destroyed itself through use and destroyed the bey it was attached to. Do not run 385 long term
It doesn’t click
PW 3-85 T/F can work but honestly PW 9-60 T is just better
That's literally just PW carrying the part
@nmr7203 yep exactly, we need some blade that can cover the ratchet for 3-85 to be even ok-ish, but again if something like that gets released its just gonna be better on 70 and 80 ratchets
