@@alexhauser5043there's always nuance. The SLA was a violent and evil terrorist group, but even immoral people can have a cause, even a cause that isn't necessarily wrong. They weren't just motivated by evil. Their cause was equality and the wellness of the poor, which is why they wanted to feed the poor. They were also rapists and murderers, so I'm not saying they were good guys.
Some of the captors were students or prior students at the Berkeley campus. This should make the public question what they actually teach in their history and social science courses at Berkeley - and the UC system more broadly. It’s interesting that so many young adults today seem to support and follow Marxist ideas, albeit it a modern version of Marxism, so called Neo-Marxism. For example, the pro-Palestine protests and riots are often organized by neo-Marxist activists whether they identify as such or not. Regardless of the label, their activism is reflective of how Neo-Marxists campaign or operate. For example by blocking traffic, shout downs, vandalism, intimidation and defamation tactics of people who oppose them, fear mongering, riots, sit ins etc. The activism tactic of defamation (common during the Cultural Revolution in China too) seems to have become common practice across the US considering the cancel culture phenomenon. Cancel culture is rooted in Neo Marxism techniques as they see slander and misinformation as a means to an end and therefore a legitimate way to discredit and silence opposition. Progressives use this technique a lot. This is likely why the most reasonable and sensible people have been cancelled left and right as soon as they question the narratives promoted by Neo Marxists and similar groups. Every conservative is now a racist too, as they use slander to silence opponents. Whether it’s true or not is irrelevant. They don’t believe in civilized debates as debating is a venue for their opponents to expose their weak arguments. The oppression they believe exists can’t hold up to scrutiny or criticism as much of what they claim is simply false and imaginary. Neo Marxist activists believe in disruption of the status quo as a means to achieve social change as they think there’s inherent systemic injustice and oppression built into society’s institutions. Yes, their ideology is confusing and ill-defined as their ideas are full of contradictions, false claims and more importantly based in philosophical ideas rather than facts and objective reality. It’s essentially a war over ideas or narratives, rather than over tangible evidence. One concrete example of how their thinking can materialize are so called “safe spaces” on campuses in CA that are created against imaginary threats such as micro-aggressions and white students on campuses. Neo-Marxists will latch on to almost any cause that gives them an excuse to create division and disorder in “the system” as the goal is to destroy it. This is what’s so reprehensible about neo-Marxism. They don’t necessarily know much about or even believe in the cause they are protesting, they just want disruption of this imaginary ill defined “system” they believe is oppressive (even though they rarely show concrete evidence of its existence in real life.) Many of them enter teaching and journalism professions in part to manufacture this “evidence” by twisting facts and spreading misleading information as well as to introduce terms/vocabulary that serves their narratives - basically to influence culture and public opinion. The kidnapping of Patty Hearst is just an example of how dangerous ideas can turn into actions that cause a lot of suffering in people’s lives.
Do you deny going to the Whitehouse and asking Donald if his second wife was in there also? Did you not tell him he had to have a plan. That's when he came up with covid.

Chimpanzees could have done a better job standing up for human rights.
