It's not the volume of the Rucksack but it's the weight compared to the individual person's structure. Backpack shouldn't be more than 15% of our body weight, means a 80kg person can have a backpack of max weight of 12kgs. Also note that, it's not always a peronal choice but depends on a lot of factors like whether you're a solo trekker or going with an agency who'll arrange the necessary things for you, whether you're going for a short (5/6days) or a long (20/30days) trek, how remote/cold is the place so you need to carry lots of heavy items like sleeping bag etc and most importantly whether you have to carry your rucksack yourself.
Rucksack being 15% of the body weight is a really interesting metric - thanks for sharing this.. As you mentioned it depends if you are going with an agency - i advice any beginner should go with an agency - so in that case i think this video should make sense. About carrying your own rusksack - I encourage everyone should carry their own bag in trekking - so i advice to pack less and tight - hence a smaller bag and less items
Great Thanks for this trip bhai, you helped me alot with all the preparation i have to made before trip, I am a beginner but your guidence made me experts. #guide #trek #northindia #mountain #mountainlover
Hey brother.. thanks for pointing this out.. The guides that i have on my channel are very beginner focused. And most of the beginners go with a trekking agency - so they have sleeping bag/tents/food already provided.. I understand that if someone is going for a hardcore DIY trekking they would already know what to carry - like yourself.. thats why i dont focus on giving advices to the seasonal trekkers- because they already know a lot more than me.
it will be same as carrying your laptop bag - from comfort point of view.. it is cheap only - so if you want a larger storage option for basic walking - you can go for it
Jacket - www.decathlon.in/qr/8641926/-1 Poncho doesn’t matter.. just grab the one that is in your budget. Mine is - www.decathlon.in/qr/8586260/-1 But my poncho also dont have a good fitting.. so wont recommend that
bhai, i really feel a beginner from plains will need good shoes, jackets, and other things. especially if they are facing such weather conditions for the very first time.

@@tusharkarmakar6240not really. For an example you are travelling for 16 days trek to EBC so you will have one luggage to carry and other one would be with porter. Wherever you carry your baggage so it’s better to have less than 40 ltr or day back pack of 20 Ltr. Or else you can’t enjoy trek only feel yourself as porter and tougher
@@tapasdey4299 i see your point now.. you meant with the porter. EBC is extremely commercialized, so you have the porter facility. but lets take sar pass for an example. there is no porter facility at nagaru campsite. similarly at some campsites the porter is not available. I meant 60 L considering no porter. As I personally feel, it is more adventurous if you are carrying your stuff on your own. and if you have descent enough shoulder, back and legs training naa, then it is not too difficult to carry that bag. given your bag is of a good quality. But if you have a bag like triple or trawoc, then you will face some pain for sure.
Bhai agar independent trek hai.. that means food tents stove ye sab bhi carry karoge.. minus temperature means more volume of clothes… And that for 10 days Aapko 90 L bhi lag sakta hai
Ek to yaar decathlon me mil jayega. baaki agar local shops pe dekhna hai to google pe search kar sakte ho "camping gears in Delhi" - kaafi options mil jayenge.

You didn't mention about one mandatory item for high altitude basecamp treks where temperature drops below -15 -20degC i.e. sleeping bag.

Btw.. i have 80L , i dont get any pain.. its completely upto the trek type, days and personal strength.
I think the bag size depends on the duration of the trekking.
