- After Playing Mann versus Machine for about a week, this is pretty much what seems to happen every single round.
I am not sure why the Sentry Buster was black In gmod but I kept it since It looked cooler in my opinion. Like a Sea Mine

MvM engineer in a nutshell
1) Wait an hour for a server
2) Put sentry down
3) Wait 150 seconds
4) 50 sentry busters appear
5) Blow up
6) Lose
7) Called a bad engineer
8) Kicked off
9) Repeat
You would be pretty inexperienced at MVM to not know how to deal with sentry busters

Eh, not always the case for me. I've actually managed to teach a fellow Engie on how to counter a Sentry Buster. It's not so hard once you know how to defeat it. Once you know, you will instantly be the MVP. Only on a few occasions were where I've encountered an Engie who didn't know how to play the Engie, didn't buy Canteens and kept dying. Even putting a teleporter in the worst spots.

The laggy pyro deserves a series all to himself.

It sadden me to see so many engineers just try to kill the Sentry Buster instead of just bait it to explode.

Explosion radius is like a bombcart for the sentry buster,and engi doesnt move that fast,ive avoided some busters,but there are times i fail
Milkninjas You only need to pick up the Sentry, run at the Buster as it run at you. Bum into it AND KEEP going pass it. Don't turn around as it will cost time. Easiest way is using Rescue Ranger. Just time as soon as the Buster stop and start the detonating animation.
If you do everything right, the only ways you could get blow up are: Lag that make you stop for a moment, some other robots or obstacles that block your path, robots that shoot and cause knock-back, some bs glitches thank to Lord Gaben...ect...

Probrably one of the unwritten rules of MVM. BTW Shinigami Sama If you have good teammates and good tactics you can kill a Sentry Buster(Best Classes:Pyro,Soldier,Heavy and some other classes[sorry I forgot])
***** Sure, you can easily kill a Buster if everyone know what they are doing. But it is way easier for the Engie to bait the Buster, than to have the people focus on it instead of other more prioritized targets.
It take way less time, effort and waste no ammo.

Oh god, I believe that I'm the laggy Pyro. I had a computer that had a lot of junk on it, I would still play TF2 even though I would get low fps, I did play Mann vs. Machine a lot when it came out. Every time I'd look at this I can't help but to feel that I am the Pyro.

Same, I remember lagging so bad in mvm I was like a rhyno, I was using sounds to move and shoot more than my eyes, I was on like 1 frame every 4 to 10 seconds, in casual people would joke about my lag often

YossarianVanDriver I remember when i had a ticket last year and then on decoy rust tour as i was new since times passed i passed by a GREAT team. We had good teamwork and we learned mistakes that we did on waves and thats how i won my first tour. Man it was great and i felt happy after that.

Actually, not all people are that bad, when i've played mvm mann up mode, my teammates is actually not complaining about me being new to mvm and due to our teamwork, we got every round finished with no problems.

Well they AREN'T really creepers, they go for the engis buildings, unless they add a people buster. It would be a creeper. 9/10 for effort though.
there should be a buster buster (:P ). it would replace the teleporters, and it would be an upgrade. it would cost 300 credits, and when deployed, it goes after sentry busters.

not many engies would really need a buster buster, a rescue ranger is like one out of many ways to eliminate a sentru buster

8) Kid yells team to ban me for being a noob (was the most useful)

I had something like that happen to me i was playing soldier and doing really good. I was on wave 4 when some kid joined and said "OH MY GOD SOLDIER IS NOOB KICK HIM!" And then i was kicked after being the best player on the team....

+Anvil115 While pyro is a very important class in MvM, it does not have the damage potential. Your job as a pyro is to protect that sentry with your LIFE. If you are only resetting the bomb and killing 'bots, you have done something wrong. On the other hand, all engie is a very viable strategy

The problem was that the kid put his sentry right on the tank tracks, were it got destroyed by a tank in later rounds.

Once I was playing Mann Up and I was defending the bomb site as an engineer, and the announcer said look out for sentry busters, I wasn't paying attention, and I heard beeping, I thought it was a medic's syringe gun, and I turned around to see a giant bomb on legs just millimeters away, charging it's attack, and I thought: "if it had face, it would be giving me a shit-eating evil grin" Scared me to shit lol.

In my pov, I've seen so many different players who have pissed me off, I'm not saying I'm good, but I know how to communicate with my team. You have the inexperienced players who think they know shit just because they have a strange hat. You have the people who kick you because they think it's funny. You have the people who kick you because you tried to kick them because they wouldn't try to help, but when you don't get to kick them they retaliate. You have the people who literally sit there doing a taunt the entire time. You have the people who don't speak English, typed or spoken, and while I don't really care, it inhibits communication. You have the people who play like they have no mouse. You have the hackers that cannot even hit a target(the heavies that bunny jump and spin their barrels at the sky). Etc.
I hate when people don't listen. I often run into people who want to play Spy or Sniper in MvM and most of their time is spent in the upgrade area because they keep dying. Or you have the Scout with the bad setup who won't switch out and is not even collecting the money. Then you have the Buffalo Steak Sandvich melee Heavies and the DemoKnights always getting killed and complaining that the Medic isn't on their asses 24/7 (mostly because doing so gets the Medic killed) or even worse, the Battle Medic not even bothering to heal, pick up, or Kritz those who need it.
In MvM, you can't just play a class because you're 'good at it', you need to be what helps the team. If the only classes available are ones you're poor at and you think you'll be a burden more than an asset, talk to your other team mates. All else fails you can leave and queue up again and get a better outcome.
That's 99 cents you're never getting back.

I must be honest, I'm a pretty good Spy in MvM. The thing I like to do is sap the Robots and then backstab them to rack up some crits for my Diamondback. Then I just use my stored crits to pick them off... works like a charm.
But then there's those idiots who say "OMG SHPEE IZ USELESS STAHP USEIN IIT!!" and votekick me off, all because I'm playing Spy.
Seriously, they just can't get it into their thick heads that I'm helping ALOT. Not only does my Ap-Sap disable them, it also slows down Giants and stops the bomb carrier. The times I've saved the hatch from detonation..
Just today I was playing spy in mann up mode and I shot a giant scout who was on the hatch with the diamondback and killed it and immediately after the medic tells me to change to anything but spy or sniper. Oh yes the medic who is the one class that is not needed in a good team telling a spy who just stopped a super scout to change.

Couldn't agree more. Also, there was once where i joined a MVM server as Heavy and the others on the server said that i had to choose a different class due to that they think Heavy is too " OP ". Seriously? The Heavy is one of the best in MVM. In a way, he's a part of the backbone of the whole team. So i just said to them: " Good luck and you'll get a ass whoopin' ".

Well, its their opinion. But seriously. Just imagine lets say 3 heavys that each got ammo refill powerup, maximum ammo capacity and several other weapon and character improvements. That can end each round super fast.
I am f2p payer on tf2 but I am not a little kid, in fact, I feel like a old hag being 28 years. The thing is I love the game but, same as you say, i am staring to get annoyed by little kids shouting which class and which weapons I need to use. And if I don't have the weapons they want to I get vote kicked! The funny thing is when I get in to teams that don't impose what you need to be and what to use, we always win, because each player plays with things he/she is most used to and best with. For example I can carry a whole man up MVM with medic with quick fix and no one will have to wait one sec to respawn, I am like a crazed necromancer. But now I have to use ktitz, because kids want to, and we loose sometimes. Btw Medic is most abused class there :D and engie :D So you end up playing some class you don't actually love that much because they don't question it, like demo... I can imagine how it must be for the players that purchased the game and was with it for all these years, tough man, tough! I wish I could round up some good people there and get in the team and block the dam kids!

O man, don't remind me, my ears are still bleeding from some of the mic users. I once endured 45 min of a kid talking to him self, commenting his every move!!! And you can even recognize them right away, they are medic healing each other and taunting like crazy, scouts running like maniacs all the damn time, even between waves, and hitting stuff continuously, or a sniper that you see running with you head on to a wave of robo soldiers :D

MvM really is difficult without a well balanced team and experienced players.
I've played it a lot, but have only "won" about 3 games, because a lot of times people will drop out mid-game and get replaced by a noob who has no idea what the hell they are doin. Also, peeps ALWAYS try to restart the game if you lose the same round more than 3 times. I fucking hate that. You get all the way to the last round, and some whiny idiot wants to restart the WHOLE thing because we lost a couple times.
I also play exclusively Heavy (sorry, I kinda suck at about every other class and I'm very good with heavy class). For some reason, people think it's stupid to use a heavy in MvM. WTF??? Heavy class is possibly the most necessary one for MvM.
I remember one time i was on the second to last wave we won the wave and started the last one but some guy said "ERMAHGERD SCOUT DIDN'T GET THE MONEY RESTART!!!" i screamed NO!!!!! but everyone voted to restart the ENTIRE THING i'm done with MVM.

One time a buddy and I got all the way to the final round of an MvM game on the highest difficulty. After about 4 losses and no one listening to my or another player's critique, someone voted to restart. I was soooo pissed.
I also found a glitch (don't know if it was fixed) to block the giant heavies (and I think giant scouts). You just stood directly underneath them and nailed them in the face. For some reason they couldn't shoot you. I kept using the glitch and everyone else was dicking around and like "how do we beat the giant ones?", of course, no one would listen to or notice me using the glitch.

I'm pissed off at people who play MvM now. I haven't played it since the Mecha Engineer update, so I'm not familiar with the new missions, maps.......and "meta". It's either you get into a server with kids or people who have no common sense, or you get in with all these bossy know-it-alls that immediately harp on your upgrade and class choices as soon as you make them. No patience or open minded acceptance for someone who knows how to play well, but isn't familiar with all these deemed optimal strategies in the metagame. Fuck that. When MvM was new, you were encouraged to try anything to beat a mission. And, you'd be surprised at how effective some strategies can be. But no, if I think that my usage of Spy or Engineer can work in the situation I'm wrong and get yelled at or kicked.
Ugh, this awesome mode is pretty much ruined for me and I have a bunch of tickets that I still have to use.
mvm just follows meta-game now it's common to join a round with a jackass with 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 tours who thinks he's MLG pro at mvm
then you have the people who have no idea wtf there doing and just camp at spawn the entire game
it's pretty common you join a bootcamp with 4 gibus snipers and the rest are engis

Late response, basically all classes now use ammo refill boxes that spawn literally everywhere on the map and not the dispenser is just a port medic and metal honey hive for engies.
There's something undeniably cute about the way engie salutes the announcer's order. I like to think he represents all the first time Mvmers and us who despite all, still love MVM :3

average boot camp lobby be like:
- the engineer with terrible building placement
- the soldier who doesn’t know how to use the beggars and blows all his credits on clip size
- the heavy who wastes his time shooting the buster instead of other robots
- the pyro with 300 ping, can barely leave spawn
- the medic who spends more time dead than healing
- the spy who spends the majority of the wave afking to the side, only to get a single small robot pick and then dying immediately

The first time I've played MvM was a few days ago, since I'm a complete noob and the other players had unusuals and all, I did what they told me. They told me to be a Phlog Pyro, buy speed upgrades and resistances. and we won! A guy ended getting a Gold Botkiller Stickylauncher :D I only got a Market Gardener :( Anyway I was wanting to get one to do rocket jumps with it, so it wasn't that bad

join mvm server with 3 friends, then a guy with starter weapons joins, and starts complaining that I was spy, I said well there can be more then 1 spy, he keeps complaing, I change to soldier, he starts complaing that he wants to be soldier now, and kept screaming in his mic, and so I told him to stop, I muted him, and he kept sending kick votes for 40 mins straight, didn't get kicked, I vote for him, within the first 5 secs he got kicked, then another guy joined, and said he was his brother, and it all happens again,
so if he joins ur server kick him, he is annoying as f### and is a freaking noob.
