Wow saved another classic, way to go man! I love the older radios I think they sound better, surface mount , menu driven not for me, I like the oldies but goodie’s like myself, on base I usually play Browning Golden Eagle MK 3 with a Glenn Slider or Browning MK 4A or my Tram D-201A, I just think the TX/RX sounds less tinny, don’t get me wrong I have an RCI 2995DX , 2517, 69HP but there just mobile radio’s in a big box. Thanks for all your videos I really enjoy watching them. Sometimes I drive up to a mountain top in my truck and listen to skip and watch your video’s really relaxing. By the way I live in WV almost heaven!
Thanks ! The Tram D 201A is one of my favorites as well. I wish I actually owned one ! I've seen pictures of WV and it truly is beautiful ! Glad my videos can help you relax in a world full of trouble. 73
I love these radios. I have a Grant, it has the DDS/VFO mod. Tx from 26 to 30Mhz. Plus has the digital meter mod. A great classic radio that just works ..
I have 858 chip in my grant. they put 3amp fuse it took 3 years find the problem it made my radio stop transmit with d104 when put 5amp fuse back in july 2024 in my radio ran my turner plus2 it start transmit yep if people have problem with there older grants tell them check the fuse.
A major improvement in sight and sound. That is a truly restored radio with good wars. I can't wait to see what you do with my McKinley :)

You worked your magic on that radio. From an ugly duckling to an elegant swan. You are King when it comes to breathing new life into old rigs.
