The more I see it the more I love Mike's ride! He gets into the most awkward positions and just drives it out! Mind you, maybe not everyone else could do that, as Rory has taught him well! The only thing is, Mike has such a good head on those shoulders, he knows exactly where to place the camera for those quirky shots that leave you guessing which way up you are. As for justin, welcome back you have been missed and your driving is as good as ever. Thanks guys...
Good to see Justin back after an “excused absence “. Also good to see he has his priorities straight and values time he can spend with family. I hope he appreciates the off-road tutoring from you guys, I would consider paying good money to have a chance to learn those skills from some of the best in the business.
It's got to be very hard to film and play to! I know that there's a lot of us who appreciate all the effort you guys put into this! Thank you so much for all the effort and trouble, we love seeing the great pictures and the repairs. Keep up the great work and STAY safe!!
Very nice driving, guys! Your four wheeling is very thoughtful and considerate of the vehicles. It doesn't make for the best video for some guys but they can certainly learn from you two!
Justin shows a lot of talent for rock crawling or his rig would not of made it. Cell phones, a welder and never go alone... spotter is very important for getting home
Justin needs vent valves for that tank. A one way valve that opens when it's upright and closes with any gas pushing on it. I've seen crawler buggies with one on each side! Also need to route fuel lines so they cool the fuel rather than heat it!
Lol trailmater crew... Go wheeling all the time as part of work... so what do they do on a weekend? Go wheeling some more. What do they do for the bachelor party? Wheel. What do they do in between wheeling? Wheel. What do they do when they are in a traffic jam while wheeling? Wheel some radio control cars. That's when you know.... that you are happy just wheeling. ;-)
Kudos Justin for knowing that Family is First and . . . Forever. I appreciate Mike's relaxed and even demeanor. What originated as WWII propoganda, 'Keep Cool and Carry On' (KCCO) has since morphed to our Pop Culture as 'Keep Cool and Chive On'. KCCO, if you know, YOU KNOW!
Mike, Justin, go to junk yard get a filler neck that has those vent tubes on the side of the neck, weld a plate to your “new” filler neck, this should be about a foot or so tall, bolt it to the tank, now your filler has a vent tube a good foot above the tank, where you can run a new vent line anywhere you wish. Downside is you may now have to fill the tank from inside the bed of the truck, sorry I don’t have all the answers just thought of this while you gentlemen well talking about it and explaining all the previous routes to the vent line that didn’t work well. I do enjoy this channel a lot, keep it up and going
since we filmed this video I ended up doing almost exactly what you described. found an adapter online and mounted the original filler neck straight out the top of the tank! It's working perfectly, and yes I have to hop in the bed to fill up 😂 Great suggestion!
@ sorry on having to fill from inside the bed, I think if it was led to one side, you would be back at square one with a leaker anytime the truck was out of level, sorry for that, don’t have a solution to cure both problems.
Good repair, (nice clutch, btw!) Great views, few chuckles... Nice content! Definitely need to cool those fuel lines, gas starts to boil at 100°f (some parts of the mix are 400°f), so you're probably venting constantly, any splash in that corner of the tank is forced up that line. Adding a chamber above the tank (larger hose/pipe?) To let fumes by & the liquid drain back (heck, a cooling coil might gain fuel back, lol! ). The vented gas cap comment from Mike is right on...
I would have to go with protecting your fuel lines and the bottom of the tank as well as a longer vent hose with a complete loop in it to prevent syphoning. Also try and vert from the middle top of the tank.
Hey Justin.. On your gas tank breather hose spitting hot gas and fumes. Attach a small windshield washer fluid tank or radiator over flow tank to the gas breather hose. The gas will be caught in it and not be spit out on everything, even if you roll over. You may have to empty it every once in a while. Or attach another hose to it and run it to the main gas tank.. The little tank acts like a relief valve or reservoir relieving the pressure.. If you attach another hose to it and on to the main tank, it can pressurize and push the gas into the main tank. Good luck
That tank should have two vents, preferably on opposite corners. You do seem to have a fuel heating problem too. You really can't fix that tank unless you want to weld another vent in, preferably the opposite corner. Something you can try that's cheap or free. Somewhere in the vent line install a chamber or larger diameter pipe section for a little reservoir. That might allow enough room for the vapor to pass the fuel, without pushing it up a long straw
I would be interested in how far down in the tank does the vent tub go,? It should be like minimal sticking into the tank,in speedway they used to make it have three loops around the Gerrycan, (tank) and threw the floor, 😂 thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Put shielding (insulation) under the tank. Drill into the tank to change the vent position and maybe paint the tank white. But what do I know ? Grrr8 video.
I got the same tank and same issue boys jungle website special, 300$ canadian saved me a lot of work hunting. But with no pickup or filler neck, it's been an irrigation for sure, same over flow problem aswel, odk how to loop my hose
You can put a fuel filter to act as a one way valve in the vent line Flow towards the t put T into your return fuel line the vent line into your return line t !
Hi Mike and Shawn I really love your show can you please do more new show for all of us please we will be waiting for you ok I will always praying 🙏 for you Mike 🙏 and Shawn and family and friends and Rory and he's family and friends ok please 🙏 be careful out there ok 🙏 and please 🙏 be safe 🙏 so you get home 🏡 to your family and 🙏 friends ok you have a wonderful day and have a good night and day ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't the vent line supposed to be connected to the top of the filler neck? Solution: build a proper filler neck to the driver's side of the bed and connect the vent line accordingly..
What tyres are you running on the Deathstar Mike? It always surprises me that almost everyone else in Utah is running aggressive MT’s, to drive on either bare rock or dry sand, which is odd.
Mike and Justin thanks for taking time out of your day off to make a video, looked like fun!.
The more I see it the more I love Mike's ride! He gets into the most awkward positions and just drives it out! Mind you, maybe not everyone else could do that, as Rory has taught him well! Definitely glad to see Justin back in the seat. Mike ur a quality fellow
Exceptional camera views today and great editing. Thanks for the effort.
There were some great shots Mike and Justin got to do some trail repairs too.
It seems Justin has natural 4WD abilities.
A great job with a full size on leafs. And Mike's demeanor keeping everything nice and cool.

Justins truck does alright great camera positioning Mike
The Deathstar just eats that stuff up.
I still love Justin's exhaust on the truck.
Missed the square square-body :-) Looking awesome!

Just glad you guys drove Cliffhanger instead of running it. 😂 made it more fun to watch. 👍

Amazing camera work you two...and Justin's truck no 4 link no sliders small tires and he kicked that trails ass..the death star sounded great
13:09 is an amazing view!

Nice to see Justin out with you wheeling, thanks for sharing, Jon UK
Great drive over view.
7:13 Nice camera angle! I could smell the exhaust.
Great watching GMs out in the rocks! Thanks fellas.
That looks like it was a good time I would like to get out and wheel with you guys one of these days

Everyone needs to vent ever so often.
Justins pickup does pretty good ! 😃👍👍
Jason’s truck would look awesome by chopping 12” of the bed. Good channel you guys.

But, but! Justin's fuel door is closed! How can the truck see where it's going?! 👀
❤Thanks Guys!❤
ETHYL!!!! YOURE BAAAACK!!!! WOOT WOOT! Sorry. Nice to see you guys! Excellent day for crawling I see! Dang that square body works good! Peace out!

Glad to ses Justin back! Does he still have his Toyota?

What kind of tires and what size on Justin's truck?

Justin, have you thought of “bobbing” the bed? Shorten the bed?
Dirtbilly Deluxe Heavy Metal Edition
Interesting trail repairs and fuel issues to solve. For those of us a couple tie zones away and 3,500 km. what distance did you cover in this video?
Bob that bed on the chevy
Rollover valve, 3 sides and down. And use a vented catch can.
Justin's truck is nice but following the Dark Star is formidable
How bout a check valve in that fuel line? Just askin.
full size wheelin
🇺🇲👍
Put shielding (insulation) under the tank. Drill into the tank to change the vent position and maybe paint the tank white. But what do I know ? Grrr8 video.
Hey Justin, i voted for you. "Lucifer (Justin Case) 😂.
I got the same tank and same issue boys jungle website special, 300$ canadian saved me a lot of work hunting. But with no pickup or filler neck, it's been an irrigation for sure, same over flow problem aswel, odk how to loop my hose
Where has Justin been?
You can put a fuel filter to act as a one way valve in the vent line Flow towards the t put T into your return fuel line the vent line into your return line t !
They all look pretty scary to me
Time for some coil overs and to shorten it up bit.

The tires are pitbull growlers!
I think Justin's tank is missing the roll over valve on the vent.
Any plans to Truggy Justins truck?
Aw man Justin you mean trailmater is not family also ?
👍🏽👍🏽
💖💘💖
Maybe a fuel tank breather valve? I don't know, just a thought. Not even sure how they work.
Maybe paint the tank white?
Jail😂😂😂😂
young dumb and full of vinegar. its ok justin 😂😂😂😂
Should have named this channel Dirt Buildy Deluxe. 🤷🏼♂️
3rd
Justins spotter door is closed.
If he put a cover over it. Or painted white ir would probably stop.🤷
Ask Paul at Fab Rats or Rori at trail Mator they can probably help!
I thought making these videos was part of yalls job lol..
Moab would be so much better if the scenery didn't suck.
