this band is awesome
@Ibrahim Jesse Instablaster =)
The greatest metal band I ever heard.
And even better live!
It’s a crime they weren’t bigger.
A band unlike any other.
Their shows were mind blowing.
This brings it all back. Thank you!
@@wayneklay Huh? Dude they are one of the most famous black metal bands out there or most commercial
Vortex & Mustis how I miss you
and Astennu
Nick
Brynard Tristan
Same here
Ditto
imagine never having heard Dimmu Borgir and standing there at Ozzfest and hearing this epic beauty for the first time ever
Like losing the virginity.
Many don't understand the majesty of this band. Not then, and not now.
I did and it changed my life. It's been 17 years and I've never recovered
I saw the 2004 ozzfest stop in Chicago...
I didn't know too much about dimu borgir but I remember being captivated by the performance.
One of the greatest live performances i’ve ever seen. That was just perfect.
I was in Auburn WA for this tour. They are AMAZING!!!!
Whatching this about 20 times. Beautiful.
i find myself listening to this show more than the actual album songs.
Quite possibly the best live sound quality and stage presence I've ever seen!
Only second to Opeth
well the drums sound like a fucking typewriter
Shagrath, gteates
It's a mixer feed...you're not hearing the audio off of the stage speakers.
How can a band this good slip under the rug is beyond me. You can't sound like this live. The power just runs over you. Turn it up and FEEL IT!!
I never had the chance to see them, hopefully someday! I watched this to death back in the mid 00s.
Oliver Pura Exceptional band, especially live!!!!!!
@@TheIndustrialRetrospective I saw them most recently in 2019...unfortunately, they don't do much of their older stuff anymore, and Shagrath doesn't headbang like he used to , but it was awesome to see them again. Legends.
@@TheIndustrialRetrospective It was ridiculously good.
I saw them in '04 at Ozzfest; it was so similar that I had to research this video and see if it was the show that I was at. I had front row pit tickets. Honestly it wasn't like seeing a band. It was literally like these creatures that stepped through a vortex, like gods from a different dimension. Mustis' keyboard was shrouded in a black curtain, they were all covered in white paint. It changed my life forever.
The fuckin pipes on vortex... god that was badass!
19:42 still the best performance from Vortex
essa parte me lembra uma conhecida minha essa parte da canção
the fact that the bassist continues metalling the fuk out with that split lip off his battle axe of a bass guitar is 100000% savage as fuk. I LUV IT
Vortex was a BEAST
What happened to his lip? One moment its fine the next its bleeding??
@@Darkvisorthey sometimes use fake blood for effect, check their 1998 performance where you can see more clearly. Or he hit himself with his crazy moves hah but i think fake blood is more likely
Best black metal performance and sound quality ever! The crowd was probably in a culture shock even at the Ozzfest!
Uncultured fucks amirite?
Man, I remember Ozzfest 04. I was 15 and had learned about Dimmu Borgir a few months before the show. They put on one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen, and it was seriously disappointing how many people were just sitting in their seats, disengaged entirely.
But I was standing up, head banging and throwing up the horns. Never will forget that show. Also my first time seeing Judas Priest/Slayer/Black Sabbath.
@@myquest666420 I was there brother!! That show changed my life!!
I bet no one gets a culture shock when visiting an ozzfest. That are metalheads bro
@@maximilianschmidt4589 Perhaps so, you do have a point.
Holy Crap! What the hell am I supposed to listen to NOW?
What an amazing live. Used to listen a lot dimmu back in the 2000. The songs are more perfect live than in studio.
Wrong crowd to see them live.
Yeah that Texas crowd is weak af.
Ohh.. i miss this dimmu
13:53. This Vortex vocal was better than the studio version. Fucking awesome!
19:41
Sometimes i see people in the comments say that his voice is digitally enhanced or something..
ua-cam.com/video/peQEHz7xC0s/v-deo.html
I was at this show , I was 25 then. I was in the area main floor where Mustis is at .
This is almost peak Dimmu right here. Just missing Nick. Tony is still great.
Nick just pushed it over the top. Everything else is a pale reflection
Tony was just phenomenal, but I do love Nick with Dimmu.. What Tony did on In Their Darkened Shrines is legendary in my book.
@@Nargaroth i'll check it out
@@Nargaroth thats nile
Yeah I agree totally!! I do in fact like the Dimmu now and today especially with the chorus and symphony. Matured very nicely.
Got to see this amazing band 3x in 3 years here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Never understood why their fan base remained small. The most unique metal band I ever saw. Have never heard anything like these guys before or after. I would put them up against anyone of this genre. The clean vocals are unbelievable! Forget the silly makeup and props and just listen to the power of their musicianship. They play like their instruments are an extension of their arms. A shame they never got the recognition they deserved. I hate the music business.
" I hate the music business" You know ure fkn right ...sadly........... :(
what do you mean with small? they sold a lot for a extreme metal band. In 2004 they already sold over 1 mio records.
@@JasonX626 - they should be playing in 5000 seat arenas - not 500 seat clubs. That is what I mean.
Fest - Cram as many bangers into a 30-minute set as humanly possible.
Dimmu - Hold our beers.
I was at this show. My favorite ozzfest and concert of all time!!! \m/
Como se extraña a Vortex, Mustis y The Keyboards, esto si era Dimmu Borgir 😭🤟
Holy moly Vortex sounds good here. It's a shame he left, but luckily we still have Borknagar.
Vortex was a beast, and honestly he was what REALLY got me into the band!
holy fuck that was incredible, kings of carnival creation actually made me emotional at the build ups and epicness, unreal performance
Fuck! I missed this show when I went to that Ozzfest in SA. These guys killed it! 🤘
20:11; its like the holy fear of nuclear fire hits your ears for the first time....I seriously wonder wtf were they thinking to get rid of this guy
Shagrath is an egotistical asshole. That's why Mustis and Vortex left because they weren't getting proper recognition for their creative contributions.
Когда слышишь исполнение Вортекса можно достичь метафизического экстаза!
The best fckng lineup, we miss you Vortex and Mustis :(
DIMMU we need a new album and tour!!!!
Vortex Just absolutely kills it , like fuk there's yor ultimate bass guitarist for any hardcore band of this Magnitude. Dimmu Borgir is forever legendary. Hail Satan.
This isn't hardcore.
This band is on a whole ANOTHER level
Galder is a beast...
I could watch Galder shredding it all day long.
That was so amazing! I love you guys! One day I will visit Norway. Rock on!
Saw them w/ .Kataklysm , Devildriver & Unearth on my b day, what a show !!! Churning, swirling moshpits , crowd shouting out words, got punched hard in the neck by some tiny chick . Perfect evening out!
That's awesome, I have never seen them. Maybe someday if they tour the us or I can catch them at an international festival with some other bands I want to see.
@@TheIndustrialRetrospective yeah, let's hope they get on the road with a few killer bands again!
The good thing is, no one buys music now, so bands are forced to tour .
@@richardkey4289 In San Antonio?
@@richardkey4289: What? Everyone buys music, bro. If they didn't why would record companies pay bands to make albums? In fact, tours are a double edged sword for many bands because they typically don't make that much money from playing a venue; they make it from selling shirts and CDs (especially in the black metal scene)...
I bought the stormblast 2005 CD and this dvd was included. Nice surprise at the time lol
Truly amazing concert.
Thank you so much for uploading this...I can't believe it took me this long to find this upload.
For all tid was the first album I've heard! Seeing them here in San Antonio tx, was my dream!!!!!
Have to take my hat off to Tony Laureano, what a brutal performance by a season drummer. Never understood why he didnt become a permament member after In Sorte Diaboli.
Hellhammer played In sorte diaboli
Brutalisimo! Tony ex NILE también
Glance into the blackness hidden beneath your surface
And enjoy the suffering, sanity drained in disrespect
With such bedevilled faith in good, subsequently trusting evil
Next step for mankind will be the last seasons in sin
🤘🤘🤘🤘
The top era with dimmu 🙏
I was in this crowd. amazing!
I envy you!
Vortex is a badass mf when opening his mouth. This is great. You pretend to be a bass player for huge part of the show, then your part comes to sing and you do it in such a classy way. For me his vocals here sound even better than on records. Gread singer.
Still have this Stormblåst 2004 bonus dvd. Excelent live quality
There was a time when this was the most badass metal band in the land and Shagrath was as fierce frontman you could find. Then they ditched ICS and Mustis (Nick barker too if we’re keeping count) and bought fur coats. Filled all the their parts with horrible orchestras and choirs until it sounded like you were listening to two radio stations at once. A cautionary metal tale to be sure.
I think Nick ditched them, lol. He doesn't get tied to a particular band for long before he is onto the next project. But damn he makes this sound so much better.
Usually not a fan of Dimmu. But this show was good!
Also damn i love shagrath's live voice more than studio
The perfect line up
BUENOSSSS TIEMPOSSSS!!!!! GRANDE DIMMU!!!! \,,/
these songs are so good
I worship this band... If they were to ever bring Vortex back on...holy Crowley.
Wish it would have been longer. Thanks for the upload though!
I was there. Killer concert no doubt.
Sure you were.
Vortex & Mustis, как я скучаю по вам
Vortex & Mustis how I miss you
Vortex was a killer bass player!
totally agree. now its oversampled Live with big pauses to play recoridings. losing vortex`s voice and energy and Mustis` symfonic genious was deveastating to their Live performances
They need to get Nick back. Badly. Nothing against Tony or the guy they have now, but Nick is on a whole different level of playing.
Absolute soul truth.
I’d give my left nut to see them live with Nick !!
why does nobody like hellhammer in dimmu?
@@blackmetalerik962 HH is phenomenal and the best for me, but he has already a bunch of important bands to play in, i'd love to see Nick back with them.
Although Dimmu changed a lot after In Sorte Diaboli. Nick also is older and stayed inactive for long periods, not sure he can play the Puritanical or DCA stuff like the old days.
@@livingbeing1113: He did a podcast a few months back where the interviewer straight up asked him if he was interested in working with Dimmu again and Nick basically said "That's not up to me, It's Shagrath. He's the boss." If you can find the interview Nick says a lot about Shagrath without saying much at all which is really telling. In the same interview Nick's contributions to Old Man's Child were also brought up and, when asked if he would work with Galder again, Nick basically lit up and said "I'd love to" which, again, is quite telling about his relationship with Shagrath.
These are the awesome real truth Dimmu Borgir...not what they due now....
AMAZING MIRACLE
My favorite dimmu Show Period. Short sweet and ALL KILLER
OOH YYEEEEAAAAA BABY 😍😛😋💝💘💗💙💗❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘🤘🤘
Es lo mejor del rock Es Mi favorito
When Shagrath still headbang
La mejor banda de Black Metal en estado puro.
"Most Replayed" is 19:41 in, as it should be. So fucking awesome.
Vortex was a beast, for sure.
I certainly felt invigorated.
Tony tem que voltar toca bateria bem demais e combina com o ritmo da banda !
Классная команда!
Saw them on this tour... Wasn't a fan before. But definitely was after seeing them live..... I just remember being so far in the back. But the sound quality and musicianship won me over.... They were flawless during this period.
Yessir. Absolute prime.
People loved ICS Vortex. Man what a lost to this band he is gone
i’m just here to pay my respects
This is fire 🔥 ,it is literally real love ❤️
I love this version and I wish I could've gone there
Buen metal 🤘🤘🤘🏽🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
ESTE SI ERA DIMMU BORGIR CHINGAOO !!
Eran aun mas potentes con Nicholas Barker en la traka.
14:07 okay, thats a good voice for a black metal genre ngl
Vortex y Mustis, aún los extraño!
Vortex und Mustis, ich vermisse sie!
Vortex and Mustis, I still miss you!
Ich vermisse die beiden sehr
Wish I would've paid more attention to them when they were on the main stage at the First Ozzfest I went to. Out of all the people I was with that day I was the only one who was interested in them, despite never hearing them before. End up getting really into them in high school.
👍🤗From 🇸🇪to 🇧🇻❤️
They are killer live damn
I miss this lineup
This is so fucking awesome!
✌️ Басуха офигенно исполнил, очень мелодично 🤘😝🤘
When dimmu ...was DIMMU!!!!!!
hebatnya, music, Dimmu, Borgir, masih, terasa,sampai,sekarang.....
lots of new people viewing this as of late, is it coming up in peoples feeds? reddit? forums? i posted this almost 7 years ago...
I didn't even know who dimmu borgir was until 7 years ago 😅 I think UA-cam has been making metal more popular.
@@AlphaWolfHowl yeah, I agree. UA-cam has been responsible for me discovering alot of bands over the last decade.
I discovered Behemoth’s “The Satanist” during the first Rona shut down last year. I went down the rabbit hole. Can’t believe I didn’t pay more attention to these guys during their peak... shameful.
Randomly popped up in my recommended feed after searching some other dimmu videos
@@rickkline8627 Dude the Satanist is a masterpiece. I had heard of behemoth before that but never really cared for them. The Satanist was my gateway to them. Helped me appreciate a lot of heavier stuff really. Nergal even got me into slipknot.
Long Live Gods of Metal
i have a ticket to see em this summer...i expect a good show based on this XD METAL!
4:47 melhor banda de Metal do universo 🖤
I was at this show, so many people there wanted to see the Halford/Judas Priest reunion.
I was there too halford came out of the electric eye on a motorcycle it was sick!
None of what you said matters.
That explains the culture shock
The One and Only TONY LAUREANO ON DRUMS
Dimu te amo muito❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗🤗❗❗❗❗🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was at this ozzfest I lived like basically down the street dimmu fucking tore it up!!! it was in Selma funny thing is the place they had the ozzfest festival a church bought out the land Pisses me right the hell off there used to be so many cool things there
Sometimes i just return to hear those beautiful Vortex vocals... nowadays they need an orchestra and it still doesn't give the goosebumps as when Vortex does it. It sucks so much that after Puritanical they went to a different direction
Mourning palace la mejor 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Literally one of our most worshipped influences, like endless respect, but I lost my fucking SHIT at
Shagrath: COME AWNNNNNN
I like too much this performance
Líbí 💯❤🤘
Metal done right!
