They treat you like a 'normal' person, because you ACT like a normal person. Pretty easy when you think about it. What a beautiful area! I gotta get back up there. Safe travels Joe!
Love this Video, I actually live in red lodge and it makes me happy to know you had a pretty good time here despite the flooding that happened that year.
Great job Joe and great insight into why you stop for extended periods, what you do there, how you establish “home”, and when it’s time to leave, your feelings. As Dr. Suess says, “Don’t be sad that it’s over, be glad that it happened”. Your videos continue to get better and you are on the cusp of being more famous than you want to be…haha. Keep it up!
Thanks for that, I was surprised you never filmed the ride over Bear Tooth pass, when I was there a few years ago in late June it was closed at the top 10 feet of snow.
Joe , your commentary has improved by leaps and bounds friend. People are loving these reels. Please keep it up because I and many others live vicariously through your life style. Thanks bruh. "Two down look around "
My first bear encounter in Montana happened near Red Lodge on my motorcycle. Younger Grizzly Male about 6' 6" tall. Stepped out of the brush about 60 yards ahead. Locked her up and slid sideways trying to stop and jammed through the first three gears within 50 ft of not a good situation...you're nuts for camping in there, grizzly bear aren't afraid of humans. You are lucky. Mountain lions hang out in that area as well...Montana has some big cats.
My son lives in Livingston and my wifes sister lives in Clyde Park, He said where you see an abundance of Elk you can bet that Griz are in the area. He said you don't always hear about Bear attacks because it's bad for the Tourism. But said 2 or 3 a year isn't uncommon. Joe needs a sidearm for sure.Or at least Bear Spray.
Red Lodge is on my list from now on. Thanks for the tour. As expected and as usual, you're getting better every post. see you soon down the road my dear brother
What a great video. I share your thoughts on finding a great camp site, then hanging out to make new friends. I've stayed in some places for over a month. And when I go back, I get in touch with those friends and we spend time sharing what's happened while we've been apart. Loved the tree in the fire pit.
Hey Joe Watched your last couple of videos this morning. Really liked them as you took your time in Red Lodge, sometimes these travel videos is watching someone race from point to point, great job!!!! Thank you for sharing with us.
I started watching your channel after seeing you with Scotty and you was a green horn. Love it , you and Lilly and her son traveling all over Mexico and the USA .
Another excellent video! I have really been enjoying your videos - thank you so much for all the time and work that goes into posting these. I love learning about the various communities and regions out there! Many years ago we took a family trip cross-country and went to Yellowstone and numerous other places out that way but I was just a kid and I would love to go back there as an adult! It looks magnificent and similarly to you, I absolutely love the mountains, the outdoors, and all it has to offer including the tranquility of it all! Ride safe and be well my friend!
Red Lodge will be forever edged in my memory as the most expensive place I spent the night on my 88 day US Motorcycle trip through the US in 2015. It was the high season and everything was booked out, except this place that cost $300/night. I was just comin through on my way to Yellowstone so didn't really see much of anything. Must come back here on day in the off season this time I think 😆
Joe if you ever come thru north georgia i have a bunkhouse you could post up in for as long as you like. I love what you do for us regular folks. Keep up the great work , and i look forward to the next video .
Yes it does rain in Red Lodge. I got caught in a STORM coming over Beartooth and down into Red Lodge. I don't like motels but gladly would've taken one in Ted Lodge but the Hells Angels had their gathering the week around Sturgis, so "No room at the Inn." It frickin Poured on me...I finally found refuge at a shotgun range in Laurel Mt underneath the trap shooting shelter...behind some trees...yes the cops did drive by...but I think they didn't see me. The wind howled and it rained so hard I really did not want to camp that night. Once I got settled it did calm down but OMG!!!
Really nice country Joe glad you were fortunate enough not to have any bear encounters had a question for you just wondering if you have ever traveled route 66 from beginning to end
Great video! Montana is a beautiful state but the winters up there can be a bit tough. Surprised by the amount of fuel on the forrest floor. No wonder the wildfires burn so much acreage. Stay safe!
Excelent video as always ! Can I assume you like the nc750 ? Pros vs cons might make a good short vid. Looking forward to whatever and wherever is next. Safe travels and keep the rubber side down.
Nice view of the mountain area señor. I've found most small towns anywhere in USA are pretty friendly places if one takes the time to get acquainted with folks. Mexico in your immediate future? Que le vaya bien señor!
I too started watching your channel after seeing you on scotties channel .. Remember when you first started on a Sport Bike you sure have come along way .. How is your Girlfriend ? Its been a while since you mentioned or seen her, Hope all is well .. 🤘🏼 ..
Thanks Joe. Great insight to how we live on the road ;-) Shipping container is booked for May 2023… trying to keep the milage down on the bike between now and then lol @montysmotoadventures

@@dirtymotorcyclevagabond I worked in Boulder and lived in Butte, rode all year round
Best camp with a portable electric fence in bear country. 2.4 lbs. Small kit for huge peace of mind
