Caving is a lot of fun. Be sure to join a local grotto and do not try to learn this on your own. I did about 20 caves when I was 9 to 11 years old and also learned a lot of rope skills above ground. Wet and muddy is a very good description. Crawling in tight passages is only about 2% of a cave route. Caves are chosen by NSS Grotto for their accessibility so the nasty endless tight passage caves are typically avoided. Join a group and Wear the right gear and follow advice.
I am really excited about caving, but my mom is really busy and I'm not sure I will be able to join a grotto, is there any way I could possible get into caving?
@@evanepic3599 Find a grotto in your local region, and reach out, plenty of groups will carpool and oftentimes will allow the borrowing of gear for trips.
Taking notes!
