    Hi Kathleen! I'm still going through your videos but I want to take a moment to stop and thank you for doing such entertaining, insightful, and inspiring videos about zettelkasten 🙏🏻 I'm still learning this subject and found your videos very informative. Thank you! From your fan in Thailand 🇹🇭 😁

      Thank you so much, Darin. My channel is very small compared to yours. I am honored to think that you may have found something informative. Your inquisitive spirit is a delight.

    Hi. I don't remember which video of yours it was, but you mentioned that you don't like the fuzzy, felty lining on your Vaultz boxes. I have the same ones, and it is far more annoying than it ought to be. But I have a simple solution for you: line each side with a strip of paper (I didn't do the bottom, but I guess it couldn't hurt). I've done this with one of my drawers so far, and it's gone a lot more smoothly. I considered tape, but I didn't want to risk destroying the fabric or the box. The paper works just fine. It's all you'll need.

      Thank you. I will give that a try. I like very much that it does not destroy the fabric or the box. Did you attach the paper in any way?

      I've thought about using some kind of light adhesive tape, but I don't have any. So far, I haven't really needed it. The cards keep the liner in place...
      One thing that just occurred to me is that you could tri-fold a sheet of paper like a ⊔, and line it that way.

      @@chim-choo-ree Thanks. I like the tri-fold idea. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm also considering removable shelf liner paper.

    I have been devouring your videos about the zettelkasten for the past couple of weeks, and finally (after several previous false starts) have one going, and it's growing too! I have a question about indexing (and I know you have so many resources on this, but I haven't been able to figure out my own answer to this) - how do I index in a way that makes sure I can find related cards easily later down the line, while avoiding over-indexing? When I started out, I was indexing every card I made from a foundational book I'm reading, but I am wondering if this will maybe mean I a) get lost finding the best fit for a new card later on, and b) I get bored of indexing! Did you find yourself indexing more heavily in the beginning, even when you were working within the same subject area? Does this, by nature of using the ZK, happen less over time? Thank you so much for your videos so far, they are a treasure trove of guidance!

      Thank you, Kat Marie, and congratulations on your growing Zettelkasten. If it is okay with you, I will address your questions in my podcast tonight. Let me make sure I understand what it is you want to know:
      How do you balance the need to be able to find a card again (enough indexing with enough key words) against indexing so much that it weighs your index down and makes it harder to find what you are looking for? Also, how do you avoid indexing boredom?
      Did I capture it?

    • @kat_marie_b
      @kat_marie_b Місяць тому

      @@KathleenSpracklen Exactly this! And I mean this both in the case of selecting too many keywords from the tagline for a particular card, and also whether to index every card (or how to select the cards you do index). I am so looking forward to hearing your answer to this! Thank you for replying!
