Last comment I swear, but WRT the "Crocodile is Luffy's other parent" theory, I think we mostly just share it or pretend to believe it because it's extremely funny and people freak out when you tell them for the first time while sharing all the "evidence"; I've definitely trolled people by giving them the rundown and pretending to be serious about it. I do wonder if he has some previous connection with Dragon or the revolutionary army though because a) he knows Ivankov well and personally, and b) it would still explain why he suddenly goes from antagonizing Luffy and Whitebeard in Marineford to actively trying to help them against his own interests, and I'm really invested in finding out more about him because he's so paranoid about his past being exposed and Oda's held off on it for so long. I do think Crocodile could??? be trans based on the Ivankov scene (although his secret could literally be anything), but One Piece does already have some really interesting queer and trans representation through Bon chan, Ivankov, and some characters you haven't met yet that's canonical, and those resonate with me a lot as a trans man (FTM) myself, so I don't really care that much about my favourite villain MAYBE (and that's a very big maybe) being a tboy because Oda's already proven that he cares, includes them as nuanced characters and makes them loveable, and he handles their identities with a surprising amount of respect for a mainstream manga artist working in shonen.
Also I kind of wonder if deep down, Linlin's aware she ate Mother Carmel; I think she's intelligent enough to figure it out based on her new devil fruit power and context but she probably represses it and convinces herself she has no idea what happened because the truth is too painful to bear
Mother Carmel is the original (or at least previous) holder of the Soul-Soul fruit, the sun she created wasn't Prometheus, but it's the same thing, she made a piece of her soul give life to an inanimate object to obey her. Now there is a reason everyone's gone in the end..... and it's the same reason Lin Lin is the new soul soul fruit user. It's horrifying what she did... but it turns out you don't need to eat just the fruit to gain someone's powers!
@@Kais_tv well after the flashback i will tell u qhat happened but she wasnt hallucinating YOU WOULD WISH SHE WAS HALLUCINATING think about this: how did she gain mother's caramel devil fruit? U can get devil fruit powers by eating it so how do think she got mother caramel's devil fruit? 😭😭😭😭😭
54:07 "Sister/Mother" Carmel was a child trafficker from West Blue. Her Underworld alias was Mountain Hag, and as a front she was a Nun and the Director of the orphanage "House of Lambs". She was the user of the Soul Soul fruit and she died 37 years ago at the age of 80. Some Trivia about Carmel: - Her name may be a reference to the Carmelites, a religious order known for selling sweets in Japan, which corresponds with Carmel's nun-like outfit and title of "Mother". The sweets connection also matches the Big Mom Pirates and Charlotte Family food theme. Her name may also be a reference to the title given to the Virgin Mary for her patronage of said group, "Our Lady of Mount Carmel" or "Virgin of Carmel". - Carmel's romanized name, "karumeru", can also be translated as "caramel", a sweet yellow colored sauce. Caramel is a topping of croquembouche, a French dessert that was served at Linlin's first birthday party at the orphanage. - Carmel being a nun but also a children seller may be based in the lost children of Francoism, children who were abducted from Republican parents by Francoist troops, in which the Spanish Catholic Church played an important role. - Her alias is a reference to the yamanba of Japanese folklore. In some versions, they nursed young children before devouring them. Instead of eating them, Carmel sells off the children she took care of. In reference with the fairy tale theme of the Big Mom Pirates, Carmel can be seen similarly to the witch in the Brothers Grimm story "Hansel and Gretel", in which they both do nice things for the kids but are actually planning a sinister purpose behind it, and in the end, they die by the hands of said kids.
Linlin's backstory has some writing issues for me personally but it raises a lot of really interesting questions wrt parenthood and whether she could have ever been given anything resembling healthy parenthood and guidance, because she *was* responding positively to Mother Carmel in a lot of ways despite the difficulties in regulating her condition; she wants to make friends and live a happy, healthy life, and clearly *wanted* to do things like fast during the festival and listen to Mother Carmel and observe the tradition; she just isn't physically able to cope with whatever flips the switch and sends her into a rage. But no adult in her life ever actually wanted to help her or try and find a real solution, only to exploit her, and when the only person with any kind of positive influence on her was accidentally killed by the child she was grooming as a weapon, she's been making all her own rules. We don't know if someone who had enough resources and capability could have actually helped her because she simply never got the chance and has only ever been taken advantage of. And now despite being an intelligent and ruthless woman, she's still very much an underdeveloped child constantly projecting a twisted version of family onto her own kids and entire other countries just to replace what she's lost (weirdly enough, this draws a parallel with Doflamingo also being an underdeveloped child enabled by malicious adults hoping to utilize his power, before coming into his own and trying to create his own "family" to replace the old one, but I'm not rehashing that whole essay) Also in the manga its a bit more obvious that Linlin ate Carmel and her foster siblings because there's a panel where you just see bubble text showing sounds of "AHHHHH" (in Japanese) in a shot while she's eating in that sequence. Still pretty subtle and with plausible deniability to preserve the age ratings but she almost certainly ate those people
44:00 What you say here is what they were saying about epileptic people back in the Middle Ages 😅 44:50 Carmel was the previous owner of Soul-chan. In this scene she uses a piece of her soul to create Pandora, a fire homie similar to LinLin's Prometheus. 47:00 There he goes again 😅 Kais saying disable/children with mental illness should be executed 😂 50:30 Back in the Water 7 saga, I have talked about how the World Government acquires it's Cipher Poll agents. With the few exceptions of them being children of people who are agents themselves (Kalifa, Kumadori, Spandam), most of them are orphans who were recruited in a pretty young age. All of them are taken to secure locations where they are brainwashed and trained. So basically, the World Government is working with some human traffickers who specialise on children in order to always have CP agents. It's also possible that some of these children are going straight to Marie Jois to be slaves to the Celestial Dragons. 50:50 Carmel didn't just "turn evil now". She's been into human trafficking since she was 30. That's one of the reasons we were shown the scene where she basically manipulated the judges and saved the lives of those giants who were about to be beheaded. Also, one of her early recruits was Vice Admiral John Giant, the leader of the giants who fought against Whitebeard in the Marineford arc.
39:10 if I subscribed to croco-mom theory i would want you to roast me LMAO. It is just memes. there are PLENTY of credible more realistic theories for just about everything you could question in the story, croco-mom is just hilarious.
Hey my guy think about it. She definitely ate them all otherwise how could she have ended up with Carmel's powers? She didn't eat the devil fruit, she ate Carmel and Carmel was holding the fruit....
i think is fine to do a schedule to one piece videos, and linlin having a hallucination i disagree she was eating so much then eat the table too and... more than the table
21:00 Mugi was obviously talking about LinLin as a young adult (early 20's) not as a 5 year old child 😅 It will take probably a few months until you see her during her prime; it's not in this arc nor the next canon arc. 21:20 Yes, these are LinLin's biological parents and yes, they just left her there. LinLin was exiled from her hometown, some kingdom in the Grand Line. She was so destructive that not her parents nor their kingdom could handle her. So they left her in the Country of Giants, Elbaf, in hopes that the Nun living there would somehow find her and take her in. Personally, I don't fault her parents for seeking a solution. But they should have at least stayed there and made sure that this rumoured Nun was indeed kind and would indeed help LinLin. But they just abandoned her on the shores of a strange land, a 5 year old child all alone. It has nothing to do with how strong she was, you don't just deceive and abandon your child like that. 22:40 Yeah, you can also compare her behaviour to how Sanji acted when he was stranded on the rock. But LinLin was 5 where Sanji was 9. This is a big difference in mentality and understanding even though both of these ages are considered as little children. 23:20 In case you didn't catch it: Narrator-san is talking about Dorry and Broggy (the captains of the Giant Pirates we met in Little Garden) and their crew; a panel of Little Garden is shown at 23:40 23:47 Normally, great things that happened more than a century ago "pass into legend". In this case, there are extremely few people who have personally met the Giant Pirates in their prime and are still alive today (maybe no one, we don't really know). Only other giants know and remember them because of their lifespans.
27:00 Yeah, Carmel never intended to actually nurture LinLin (or any of those children) to be stand up people. She only coddled LinLin and never bothered to teach her right from wrong or what's important in life. 27:20 LinLin was just a 5 year old child who couldn't understand why people are different. When a normal 5 year old human pulls your elbow or your fingers, it doesn't hurt, so you don't reprimand them that harshly. The difference with LinLin is that she has no understanding of her physical strength at all, and no one bothers to explain it to her either. 29:25 The worship of the Sun was extremely common in all ancient religions irl. It may also be kind of common in the OnePiece world since this is not the first time we see people referring to the Sun God (old Jaya) or generally worshipping the Sun (FishMan Island, Alabasta). Also, fasting before the Winter Solstice is a practice that still exists in modern day (even though Christianity has "altered" it for being for Christmas, the practice is pretty much the same). 33:00 LinLin didn't "turn evil" here. She's just having a seizure. Her "hunger pangs" were not something she could control at all at that point of her life.

@@Kais_tv Yes, Wano is indeed crazy, especially after the first act (the Wano arc is divided in 3 acts, like a theatrical play. We will explain when we get there). But the arc after Whole Cake Island is not Wano, it's the Reverie. Which is absolutely maddening lore wise. Our minds were blown! (Prepare yourself for tons of comments from me 😅)
I know you're far enough but since you didnt figure out why they disappeared She ate them. All of them at the table. Dont believe me? Rewatch it with this context

04:36 Kais trying to remember Katakuri 's name 😂 Kakuzu is a character in Naruto btw. 05:40 Still disbelieving of Brook being the MVP of the arc? 07:03 Again, there's a reason they show us the brothers' reactions. They have stopped smiling and just waited for their death. But when Sanji appeared, they started smiling again even though they can't really understand Sanji's actions. In the next panel 07:47 their faces are serious again. 11:20 This scene ❤❤ Sanji looking down on Judge with contempt even as he's saving his life. Precious ❤ 12:50 LinLin is delusional. She terrorises everyone and that's why they obey her. But because they don't really understand her, it's like they're not listening to her. She's smart enough to understand this but not mature enough to handle it and fix it. And, yes, the most disturbing flashback in OnePiece until now is about to begin.
39:50 ion gon lieeeee brooo from what ivankov was saying to croco boy i feel like crocodile might actually luffy's mom + he got mad after knowing that luffy is dragon's son and then started helping luffy more and then blamed it on that he doesnt want to see the government win
54:42 You are talking about Da Mask who had grey hair, not red. And no, they couldn't be the same person because this kid here died back then. 55:15 LinLin never found out about Carmel's true nature. Probably. But even if she did at some point, she would definitely repress the memory/knowledge. Because in her mind Carmel was the only person who treated her nicely and she wouldn't want to spoil the only good memory she has from her childhood. 55:13 Welcome to the most disturbing sequence in all the series, even though it is left a bit ambiguous. Like others said, in the manga it was a bit more obvious since there were torn pieces of clothing and stuff like that. But yes. LinLin actually ate her adoptive family. And yes, this is indeed deep deep trauma. LinLin's childish mind has definitely blocked the truth of that memory and conjured one that looks pretty similar to what *we* are seeing.
24:22 I wanted to say this back in Law's flashback in Dressrosa, but here is another opportunity. So! There is no one religion in the OnePiece world. Also, even though there are some orders and churches that resemble the ones in Christianity, Christianity as a religion does not exist in the OnePiece world. So basically, the nun in Flevance (Law's hometown) and "sister Carmel" here are seemingly part of a religion that looks like Christianity but is not. In a later arc we will also see a church which actually looks like an Anglican church, but it is not a Christian church. We don't really know the specifics of the religion all the above are a part of. The only thing we know is that they are few and far in between, but that they are in fact recognised as an "official" religion, at least from the mass populace. We have seen other "religions" before, mostly in the Skypiea saga. Even though the Skypieans are calling their leaders "god", they worship Verth (the Earth). Similarly in Old Jaya, they worshipped the Sun God and their ancestors. In FishMan Island they also kind of worshipped the Sun. And even though they don't actually "worship" it literally, if you think about it, all pirates and sailors kind of worship the Sea. Even Zoro who says that he doesn't "believe in God" does believe in a vague concept of Heaven (where the souls of the dead reside) and is very spiritual in philosophy even though he is very practical in his actions. Irl, before the rise of the three great monotheistic religions, most cultures had similar beliefs, even if their practices were different. They idolised and worshipped things that were crucial to survival, like the Earth, the Sun, Water, Air and Fire; their ancestors (because based on their example they could survive and become better); even Death (the circle of life, and everything it incorporates). They also idolised and worshipped ideals, such as valor and fate. It was also a common practice to idolise a great benefactor and after their death worshipping him as a "god" (This is important for later). All these are still the norm for some cultures even to this day, including Japanese. My point is: You should not jump into conclusions based on your knowledge on the western world. There is much more meaning and depth in the OnePiece world than what it seems at first glance.
38:10 You are asking if Luffy bringing back the Sun has anything to do with him being saved from certain death in LogueTown 🤔 Technically, there is not yet a 100% confirmed answer. But! ... Considering the point that you are still in, I think it's safe to vaguely say that they are kind of linked... 39:30 I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on that. Crocodile never *manipulated* Robin. Their working together was actually pretty straightforward. Also, if you think about it, Robin was the one who betrayed him first (both by saving Luffy and by keeping the whereabouts of Pluton as secret). But still, betrayal doesn't equal manipulation. 42:00 There's no link. It's just people being impatient and wish to know more about Luffy's mom (we literally know nothing about her), so they grab onto whoever mysterious possible female character they fancy.
all im saying is some of the semla was a LOT larger than the ones at the start. wild 56:18 vs 56:33 is CRAZY

38:10 You are asking if Luffy bringing back the Sun has anything to do with him being saved from certain death in LogueTown 🤔
Technically, there is not yet a 100% confirmed answer. But!
