In my RC Flight Models are only RX S-Bus and S-Bus Futaba Servos. You can feel it. For the Crawler i have a PowerHD25 Servo and a low price RX/TX. Thats all you need. This is a very nice hobby, which I recently discovered for myself. Greetings from Germany.
I upgraded mine years ago with your HV500. While I did have to replace the gear set (it got submerge for a ;while in the river and I did not check it for water). It has proven 100% reliable since (it's now packed with dielectric grease and marine grease for the gears).
Pretty much ANY aftermarket servo will be an improvement over the stock TRX4 servo. I replaced all of my TRX4 steering servos with Savox 2290SG. What I have found is that when you increase the power of the steering servo you have to upgrade the plastic TRX4 panhard bar mount to an aftermarket aluminum mount.
When the stock servo failed I initially swapped to a Power HD 25kg servo. I bought one of the SHV 500 V3 servos to eventually replace it and I've added a JST plug to the rigs battery plug but the Power HD is still working fine, even with a fair bit of abuse like tumbling down rock walls many times. I really don't know if I want to _have to_ beef up the steering to use the SHV 650 but steering links are cheap enough and I've been looking at aluminum portal housings with replaceable steering arms for a while so never say never. It does look speedy and you can't complain about the torque.
If its bending the housing on a trx4 it's a beast of a servo. I'd say on 4s it'd snap parts with ease. Which of course is awesome and what you really want when your bound up somewhere and mad. Twist it till something happens. Lol. I love all the holmes products I've tried so far. I'm really happy to see you expand into LP servos so I can use all holmes products on my next vanquish build.
I’ve got a cheap 35kg Amazon servo in my TRX6, and it’s holding up great to the abuse so far. It’s been in lots of snow and single digit temps and is still steering strong. One of these days I’ll be able to get one of your beasts! Lol
I have the shv500v2 in my trx4. Still love the thing. Haven't pulled the trigger on the 650 yet. Might just have too to replace my ultra talkative 500v3. V3 gonna go to my 4s original Erevo
My TRX-4 Sport has a SHV500 v3. Love it! And replaced the stock transmitter with the next model up so I could set the endpoints. Like with you, I just barely needed to reduce the endpoints.
I have a heavily modified TRX4 with lots of brass and a modified lift, so it is quite heavy. I went with a reef's triple 5, and it kept breaking the Pan hard mount. I prefabbed my own Pan hardmount out of metal, and it is holding up great. it now only twists servo horns, and I have found that the vanquish horns hold up the best.
@andy R. You must have had a bad experience with reef's products because you have managed to spew the same garbage to everybody that is running reefs. If you don't like Chinese products, you should get out of the RC hobby. There's no doubt that Holmes hobbies make some great products, and I plan on purchasing some real soon for another build I'm doing.😎
@@TrillMurray If you run the inner fenders on your TRX-4 then the Panhard mount and shock towers are built in. In that case you can add a support (Joe Collins at Exocaged did this with piece of aluminum rod). I did that on my first one but then just designed a lightweight 3d printed support. Problem solved and I can keep my fenders for the more scale look while I run beefy HH servos!
@@Djkommode you can get aftermarket metal panhard mounts, but they don't really fit the Traxxas inner fenders without mods. So, it depends on which mods you want to make.
I've upgraded the servo in my TRX4 and my wife's TRX6 to the SHV800. What a monster, and we absolutely love them, but. . . That same steel Traxxas servo horn gouged a chunk of the servo casing turning it to the right. I had sweety the endpoints and all, but being my first upgraded, very nice servos, I never thought to check for that or that it would be a problem until it was too late and I went to work on them again and noticed a shiny silver gouge in the servos. At first, I was confused on how the servos could be damaged until I seen what had actually happened. Needless to say, I was pretty bummed out about it, but the damage is done now. Hopefully that's all that was effected and nothing internal. I just wish I had known to check for that before it happened.
That happened with my shv500 too. I ended up trimming my servo horn just bit to get full swing. And, for the record, I love my HH servo. And not just for the power and strength, but also the speed compared to the ones I've tried from amazon.
Running a 3Bros G13 here. Have a G14 in the box for another build too. Would have gone with your SHV line of servos, but alas - out of stock everywhere when I was in the market.
I went from the upgraded traxxas metal gear servo. Now I have a Promodeler 555. powered by my castle MambaX set to 6.0 seem very fast and strong. If I need a new one for any of my RC's I want to upgrade to one of the HolmesHobbies.
Shv800 on my trx4, I needed a metal panhard mount, but I started using trx4 rod ends on most of my crawler builds. The actual traxxas ones have so much beef.
I have a PowerHD 25kg in my TRX4 but have just ordered the SHV800 as i have a lot of brass on the front end. I have the SHV500v3 in my VS4-10 Pheonix and really love it, a little chatty but i can put up with that when the servo is this good. Cant wait to get the 800 put in to see what Craziness pulling power it has 🤙🏻🤙🏻

They are rated for 2.25 pounds so officially it is too small, but it is geared way down because its a crawler, so as long as keeping the truck stock or even doing some weight reduction it should survive just fine. The Micro X is also rated for 3s so should be able to supply adequate power without stressing the entire system much.
Mama micro x is pretty good. Use the 2280kv on my 8lb. Scx10.3 and 2850kv on my 7lb. Scx10.2 no issues ever...but that is with external bec or direct power servo. Mamba micro x has horrible bec.

Should i have to replace it to use your servo?
If you don't have the Bluetooth module, you can also use the button sequence cheat sheet. I did also figure out on my own that if you have to reverse the servo direction, set the endpoints first. You'll be turning the wheels the opposite direction of the transmitter, of course, but when you reverse the servo direction after that, those points will still stay true for left and right throw. 👍
Hello I was wondering if you offer any servos for a cross rc. My diff lock servo died on me my first day but I can't seem to find any info on a aftermarket one that will fit.

Ok so I actually figured it out last night while messing around with it and you don’t need any of what you just said. It’s a little hard and it might not be at its tightest angle but if it doesn’t work the first time you just got to try it again. So this is what I did, i put tape around on the controller body near the steering wheel and marked where the maximum steering angle would be on both right and left, afterwards disconnect direct power to steering Then going into the endpoints settings on the Tqi just line up the same markings you made previously and press set like you normally would for each side and voilà!
