Imphenzia, please dont make a seperate channel for theae kind of videos! I like hearing about other developers lives and their projects! Ive never stayed in one place for long so I know moving across the world is probably going to be crazy, but I think you definitely have a great mindset around it and I hope it turns to be a great experience for you and your family.
Thanks Julia - nice to see your name :) We have already settled in quite a bit here, that video was a bit late - so I have just finished editing a follow up. Then we can get back in the creativity side of things. Thanks again, hope you are well!
Welcome to Australia. We hope you enjoy it here. Brisbane is an awesome city, though I prefer Melbourne. Don't let people stress you out about the snakes/spiders/ants/bats/drop-bears/etc, your chance of being killed by any of these is pretty low, especially if you stay away from drop-bear breeding locations.
Welcome Stefan and family! My family and I moved down under in 2017 and we love it! We live in the Gold Coast, so you are closer than ever to us 🙂. We have a 12 and a 7 yo daughter. Keen on meeting you and your family some day. Cheers!
BRISBANE! My top favourite city down under! CONGRATS!! And your pronunciation of Brisbane is already spot on! Wishing you & your family all the best! Looking forward to your first video from Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast!
Ah, I wish I could finally make the decision where to go. I have 2 kids and a wife but where in this strange world should we move to? I always thought about Canada. As a developer/manager myself, there is no place I cannot work from these days as long as it has an internet connection. Oddly, I have the same issue about my job as you had with yours. I cannot put my creativity anywhere near it, so I do little side projects as a hobby. Anyways, I wish you all the best in this journey and I am especially interested in how this change is perceived by your kids. As a father myself, I always hesitate to take them out of their environments. But as you've said: one should never get too stuck in a comfort zone.
Wow, after your rather lengthy break this video was quite the surprise. I discovered you in 2020, during the pandemic and - out of all things - I totally fell in love with your cracktro music, with the vibes of the 2000s. Out of enthusiasm, after purchasing your music, I have even sent a "keep up the good work" SMS to the mobile number listed on your website. 😅 I think we are similar in many ways, I even jokingly told my wife that you're what I would have been like if I were Swedish and had kids (and practiced music more). I am also 40 something and an IT guy, a Unity hobbyist and have been more of a digital nomad lately, living mostly throughout Europe, since the pandemic. Your videos were very helpful when I started diving more into Blender and, even if I haven't got very far with it myself, I still enjoyed watching them, because I found them chill and relaxing. Just like Sweden itself. This summer we traveled through Scandinavia and airbnb-ed in Sweden for a few months here and there. And we loved it! In fact we've already made some plans to go back there next summer. Now, I know about the political and social struggles there, but we stayed mostly in fairly remote places, with a lot of nature, wilderness, quietness and peace, and we have even considered moving up there at some point, maybe when we get old. At least for the summers, who knows?! I am sure you have many good reasons for your move, but I am a bit sad to see a fellow quality European leaving. It's true that challenging times lie ahead, but I don't see the things that dramatically. Including the NATO membership of Sweden, which I consider to be good both for Europe and Sweden. But I am originally from a former communist country, so my feelings towards the EU and NATO might be positively biased. 🇪🇺😍 Still, while definitely a nice country, Australia does come with its own challenges. The society is actually not that different from the Swedish one, with its goods and bads, but I think you'll surely miss the decent Swedish summer temperatures in the months to come. The global warming will not improve the situation in the coming years. And have you heard about the thousands of poisonous living things over there??? 😅 Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck and hope this move works out well for you and your family. And I am looking forward to some new Unity episodes and maybe to some new music as well! See you around and keep up the good work! 😉
That’s great news! Fellow YTer from Byron Bay not far from Brisbane. It’s a lovely city with many adventures not far away. Been watching your channel for a while for dev stuff (I dabble, and my son is a fan too). Also a Tesla family .. you’re going to miss it! Look forward to the travel updates!
Wow. Interesting. My friend had his parents over from Sweden to Brisbane during Christmas. I think they left Sweden at -20 Celsius and arrived in Brisbane at 40 Celsius. Talk about a shock. Brisbane is known for its humidity too.
Yay: Imphenzia is back in the building. But he is upset at being bitten by an Ant, then decides to move to Australia? Looking forward to this little adventure. I am thinking Peter Jackson, type Trilogy, with Goblins, Orcs Transport Paratroopers and stuff. Good Luck with the Life inspiring move
Wow great ! Love your channel which I discovered yesterday, struggling with rigging and animating a character (and still struggling with some rogue vertices in the geometry). I have also moved around Europe quite a bit in the past 20 years, currently living in the south of France 😎 I am a low level manager in the aerospace industry and I feel the same way: there is no outlet for my creative energy. I have also explored quite a few different paths to express myself, from photography over music production to software development, until I started 3D about three months ago. It feels like this is something where my different sets of skills can come together and create something of value. I wish you and your family best of luck and I'll keep following you !
I'm sure you will have fun, and challenges, living here in Oz. Don't forget to travel to the other states once you settle in to Brissie. It's a large and diverse country with plenty to see. All the best to you and your family and a big Welcome to you all!
Ha, just found your channel - welcome to Brisbane :) some areas to check out: (not mentioning Brisbane since you will find them all yourself) 1. Gold coast (1 hour drive) - Tallebudgera Creek - Great swimming spot for the kids as it opens up into the ocean but its calm 2. Sunshine Coast (1 hour drive) - Coolum Beach - Great little beach town 3. Sunshine Coast (1 hour drive) - Point Arkwright - amazing sunrises
Best of luck on your move. Your life sounds very similar to my own, it's weird. Your videos have helped me a lot from learning to gaining confidence in 3D skills. Looking forward to seeing your future videos.
Welcome to the southern hemisphere. Hope your change is an easy one and you enjoy your massive transformation. If you fancy a visit across the pond to NZ, look us know:) Keep up the great work with your tutorials!
I live in China since many years and like you, Imphenzia guy, I made the big move away from Sweden, even though it was a lot of years ago and I moved alone without any family. I have found a lot of your Blender videos very useful in learning myself and in the teaching school kids. I also fully agree with your remarks when you mention the word "gang" several times near the end of the video. I would like to wish you all the best of luck - and skill as well - now that you relocate!
I understand its not really your thing but I'm not sure if I'm alone in thinking you left us hanging on what its like on the other side as a Swede in Australia. I'm Melbourne born but have technically lived and more so worked around Brisbane. Do you enjoy the Climate? Do Australian Cars suck? I would feel that after owning a tesla, were way behind Europe in that regard Do you feel like youve stepped back in time? (I felt this moving from Melbourne to Townsville and Cairns) Is your wife enjoying her role? Are your children enjoying themselves? Whats majorly different? Whats majorly the same? I'm the opposite, I would like to experience life around Scandinavia having never experienced natural snow, Scandinavian ideals, the beauty and history of Scandinavia if that makes sense
Hi, I've missed your channel content of late, loved the tutorials. Me and my wife moved to NZ from the UK back in '06 and it has turned out OK as the UK is going down the pan, you made the right choice as far as Oz goes as NZ crime rates are soaring and the Gangs here are causing just as much grief. And the cost of living is ridiculous. Good Luck with your move and if you miss the cold you can always hop over to Christchurch as it freezing here in Winter. Maybe it's time we moved to Oz hmmmm
What an adventure lays ahead! Congratulations on the move , and thanks again for being the inspiration for many people to get into modelling in blender.
Ah mate! Coming to my part of the world, that's exciting! You'll love Brisbane, it's 400 million degrees all year-round and is 5 kilometres from the surface of the sun. ... Oh, and, don't let anything here bite you.
Haha, we landed here early October and I am getting used to things. Just walked the kids to school and got back - happy to sit in the flow of air after getting torched =) I do like it here a lot though, evenings are wonderful!
Good luck man , i been in Australia a few years ago and i love it, i wanna move there in a couple of years , i hope you enjoy as much as me back then :)
Maaaaaaaate, welcome. And yeah Australia is a really safe country - once you get past the poisonous snakes, the cyclones, the spiders, the bushfires, the sharks, the crocodiles, the floods, the box jellyfish, the blue ringed octopi, the drop bears and the crazy mad drivers. Enjoy Paradise
Been following you for a while, and now Realized you've been living in my hometown this whole time. Almost neighbours lol! But i'm happy for you and the family! Fun fact i've also lived in Brisbane for a year :') You'll love it there. Cheers!!
Welcome to Aus from Melbourne! Seems like a good time to say for your videos, the content is interesting and you've helped me take a dip into indie on the side development to my 9-5 eng job. Hope your move here goes really well! Also Brisbane is too hot, come down to Melbourne and work remotely 😄
That's inspiring. I also have a decent career that pays me well but doesn't satisfy me anymore. I would love to do more creative stuff and try indie game dev. But being a father and already well into my forties I'm afraid to give up my safety. I see that your situation is not that different and we're in the same age group, so maybe I should be more couragous - I've also thought about reducing my main job and building something "on the side". The funny thing is: Instead of Australia, my wife and I dream to move to Sweden one day. I heard there's a house for sale soon... 😋 I wish you the best of luck for your future and keep us updated!
Hi! Yes, it is scary. We have been thinking about it for some time. I left my day job 3 years ago to make Line War, and financially it was a poor choice, but from a fulfilling and happiness side it was a great move. I managed to support myself a bit through Imphenzia and freelancing to make it possible over those years. IF you have the ability, maybe an inbetween solution could work for you? I found it to work best when I was working in a normal job 50-60% of my time, and spending 1-2 days and evenings doing my hobby (indiedev). That way I could pay my bills and enjoy doing stuff without too much pressure, at the cost of not being able to do it full time of course. Could be tricky to find an employer that would allow that, but I was doing consulting which made it a bit easier. We feel happy about this move so far, but it has not been without sleepless nights. We used to have "everything" and we spent a lot of energy, all our savings, and got rid of everything except 11 pieces of checkin luggage and we are having to start up new here. It will take time to build up new here, but I have learned a lot while reaching my mid 40s so I know now what I don't want to do (i.e. renovate, getting too many unecessary things, etc.) Focus now is to be together as a family and have enough to do what we enjoy every day. If that makes any sense. Take care and good luck!
@@Imphenzia Thank you for your words. Luckily I am also self-employed and will be able to reduce my workload to 3 days per week and still pay the bills (with some savings on the side). Those changes will have to wait a little bit since our son is just four months old, but I'm planning to go for this model at some point in 2023. Until then I enjoy spending my free time with the little one! Also I completely understand focussing on happiness and family instead of being too fixated on thing. We loving traveling, but other then that, we don't need much "luxury" stuff.
@@FrotteeVDH The paradox is that sometimes it is the little things in life that bring the most joy.. Like an ice cream or cold drink on a hot summer day. Is it necessary for survival, usually No ofc not but that doesnt always make it a waste of money, time or energy.
Will be a fun journey to watch! With ya all the way, love your video style. Surprising to hear about gang issues in Sweden! News of that has not reached us here in Kansas. Big news from Australia has, with the friendlyjordies fire... Good luck to you and your family!
Weve missed your posts Steffan but glad youve prioratized your family with your surprise move. im guessing your "holiday" was always a means to get a feel for Australia. Welcome to the land of Oz. So are you actually in Brizbane?
Good luck. All problems you had mentioned exist in Australia, too. Australia is making the same mistakes. Depending on which part of Australia you are going, you can have several seasons. Do not forget about sunscreen. 😄
Unfortunately the whole world has been contaminated by this thought that criminals shouldn't be penalized for their actions. The outcome is clear, an immense increase in crime and violence . Who's passing this laws and creating this schools of thoughts? I'm not sure...
We sponsored a Ukrainian family to move here to the US, so we have seen how much is involved in moving and starting over. They were able to come to the US under a refugee visa. They are looking to stay permanently and are looking into a talent visa as well. Good luck with your move and I hope your new life there is all your family wants. I really enjoy your channel and your 3D talents.
Good luck with the move! It's brave but as you said, you can easily stagnate in life so why not! I admire your family's courage and hope your kids love their new home. Your old home looks amazing too though. I am also 47 and looking for geographic changes. Currently hoping from country to country, moving on when my visa runs out and earning money video editing but want to work in 3D. I think I can speak for others here when I say we have enjoyed your personality as much as your educational content so will definitely be joining you on your journey - I'm looking at you from the phone box - I'm kidding, bon voyage 🇸🇪🇦🇺
Looking forward to seeing more of your move and thoughts on Australia. Brisbane is ok. I'm a bit further south in Newcastle. You can get Teslas in Australia, so no worries there.
Hey! Can't believe we've been here more than half a year already. Time is flying! We like it a lot, but we still have a lot of "headaches" with house, companies, taxreporting, etc. in Sweden to try to close down so when that is finally done I think we can enjoy it even more. I would like to do a follow up video from this soon with our experience :) Edit: I should do a road trip at some point, I'll be heading down towards Sydney at some point I'm sure :) We have a diesel car for now, was easier to get started with and it's a lot cheaper to fill it up. The acceleration is not the same, but it seems a bit less likely that I would need to go fast in this area :)
@Imphenzia Sydney is great for short trips. There is quite a bit to do there, with wildlife parks, aquariums, zoos, museums, etc. I'm glad I like close enough to do day or weekend trips. I wouldn't want to live there, though. I prefer Newcastle. It's city, but not capital city. Australia doesn't support EVs very well, so diesel is the most economical option. Some areas of the government are trying to support EVs better. I've never moved countries, so I can't pretend to know all the details involved. The closest I got was moving around Australian states. What are the main differences and similarities you've discovered so far?
@@thoughts2536 Thanks for removing my comments about the Bull ant. You are like the boss that says the great idea the workers had was actually his..lol
We are with my family decide to move too. There is too far crazy stuff goin on everywere, and we don't want to be part of it any how. So cheers for move on! And i have one question, did you sell off all of your belongings in the old place, or move something to new place? Cuz', this is so expensive to move things around the globe nowadays.
Congrats on both you and your wife Moving to Australia! make sure to get yourself a nice 4X4 car if you think of trying to visit some nice places within the north and inner part of the country. Goodluck with settling !! (it will be awesome!)
Your wife will love Brisbane if she doesn't like the cold. It's warm all year round. Good luck and welcome. Also the bad things are getting worse in Australia too. You can't really escape it anywhere in the world. The Queensland government is a centre left if that means anything.
It sounds absolutely crazy, stupid and awesome! I hope you have a great time down under. It's a great country filled with wonderful people. Good luck and fly safe!
Did you make more videos about Australia, the move, how it is for you and your kid?
Since you mentioned the war going on in Europe right now, isn't Australia heavily reliant on export/import with China? And China is currently provoking Taiwan like crazy, so I wouldn't be surprised if a war broke out there as well soon. I wonder how Australia would be impacted by that.
As someone who lives here, it's a bad move in my opinion: The Government is trying to go 100% renewable by 2025 and the energy grid can barely sustain the load as we speak. If everyone has to suddenly tap into the grid in order to drive to work everyday, how do you think the system is going to cope? We're short on workers and it's hard to program with no electricity. Secondly our education system is terrible. We have very, very low grades compared to the rest of the developed world. I would seriously consider looking into this if you want to give your children the best shot in life. Education is key to success. The current system does not support or advocate critical thinking. Thirdly, our security sector is absolutely ATROCIOUS. Two major corporations have been hacked in the past several months, resulting in millions of personal documents being released to hackers. You want to know the best part of it? They didn't update their SSL certificates.... So that's the level of professionalism you'll be dealing with when it comes to national security. The best part, however, is being taxed out the wazoo and then being rendered a second class citizen because the way they went about pushing the "thing" made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and view myself as a lesser. Have fun!
Cool! Also it's good you not decided to upload it on some side channel, I suppose those who does not interested, can just skip this video) Personally I found it quite interesting about moving process.
Good video, Was great to hear from you. I am interested in hearing about your tesla. was considering one for my family even though I don't like the owner of the company but that's my opinion.
And he dumped tons of things he could not take to Australia on me so my small apartment was almost overflowing with things, he said he gave them to me, but I still treat all and see them as things I just borrow. He also gave me a greenscreen that was like a trap, it was in a small round bag and when I removed it from the bag it folded up and killed four of my flowers and it took me more than a day before I understood how to fold it down into that bag again and to clear room to be able to fold it down. I am still happy that I can be in Sweden and be bitten by ants, if something had bitten me if I where in Australia I had get massive panic, and I do get panic when I see small spiders here even I know I can kill them with just two newspapers and a vacuum cleaner, I think Australian spiders is a bit bigger and need more respect :-D And the Fiat was Pink and Green, at lest was the mold in the ceiling of it a bit green.
Good luck with your move to Australia. I respect the decision to take care of the safety of your children. Hope they will easily go thrue climate change/ By the way thank you for great content. I've been watching you for almost 3 years. Love from Russia 🇸🇪🤝🇷🇺
Good luck. I lived in Australia for 3 years and don't really have anything positive to say about the experience aside from the animals and the scenery. Hands down both the most expensive place and the most violent place i've ever lived (and i've lived in Baltimore and Philly). On the plus side, there is very little winter weather aside from the Snowy Mountains.
@Ran Dom the king punch, glassing, randomly lighting girl friends on fire (2 on the same weekend one week). and all random violence with no goal other than to hurt people. the wildlife (other than the cockatoo that lived outside my back door and would throw sticks at everyone) were lovely.
@Ran Dom the US has a population 15 times greater than Australia but no. I have never experienced the violence i saw there and I've lived in 9 states across the US as well as Germany and Australia. According to the UN's numbers on violent assault Australia has a per capita rate 20% higher than the US and Australia is the 2nd worst country in the world for rape (behind only Botswana). It was so bad that i almost forgot the systematic assault and murder of Asian students to the point where the government starting refusing to issue educational visas to Asian students and advising those already in country to leave. I don't know where you live Ran Dom (the west seemed much more chill to me than the east) and I'm glad to hear that your experience is better than mine was, but as a whole the country is pretty bad when it comes to violence.

I admire your courage and wish you all the best with the move.
Felicitaciones!!! Y mucha suerte con el viaje que vas a emprender a una nueva vida con tu familia. Esperamos que todo salga de maravilla. Saludos.
Just wow. Seeing how you grow as a human is a stunning experience.
Good Luck on your move. Enjoy the Adventure and Hope the Best Man!!!
WELCOME! Everyone in Australia will welcome you with open arms!
Oh, thanks :D So far so good! Imphenzia Pty Ltd just registered =)
So will all the Cane Toads.. :P
Wow, that's impressive and inspiring. Thanks for sharing everything.
Good luck man , i been in Australia a few years ago and i love it, i wanna move there in a couple of years , i hope you enjoy as much as me back then :)
But everything wants to kill you in Australia.. He will need body armour just for the wildlife..
Enjoy Paradise
good luck, mate! hope you will move fine and we'll see your new "upside down" video soon!
You probably already noticed but its not as warm as you would expect for this time of the year. Australia is going through La Nina and it sucks.
Been following you for a while, and now Realized you've been living in my hometown this whole time. Almost neighbours lol! But i'm happy for you and the family! Fun fact i've also lived in Brisbane for a year :') You'll love it there. Cheers!!
Props for saying Brisbane correctly. Have you been down here during the summer yet? It's definitely going to be an opposite to Sweden weather.
Just in time for that heatwave!
We follow alone, moving, blender, game dev, doesn't matter :)
Hope its going great "down under" :)
Lycka till! :) Hoppas det kan ge ytterligare inspiration till dina videos! Alltid kul tutorials att följa!
I wish you the best of luck for your future and keep us updated!
Weird note to end the video on... Also, I'm an American living in Australia for the last 4 years. These problems are everywhere, including Australia.
look at the increase in numbers for Sweden, going from _very peaceful_ to approaching the US.
@@trbry. It's strange and terrifying for sure. The swedish city Södertälje with around 73 000 people have had more shootings 2022 then London.
Finally! Imphenzia is back.
Hey :D
Will be a fun journey to watch! With ya all the way, love your video style. Surprising to hear about gang issues in Sweden! News of that has not reached us here in Kansas. Big news from Australia has, with the friendlyjordies fire...
Good luck to you and your family!
No way, I'm in Adelaide. Hopefully we can catch up for a beer
Nice, I'll be going down south at some point! =) Beer and coffee are always welcome breaks!
Weve missed your posts Steffan but glad youve prioratized your family with your surprise move. im guessing your "holiday" was always a means to get a feel for Australia. Welcome to the land of Oz. So are you actually in Brizbane?
Wishing you all the best in Australia and good luck.
You know what Blender Guru also lives in Brisbane
Oh, I did not actually know that :D
I would like to do a follow up video from this soon with our experience :)
Edit: I should do a road trip at some point, I'll be heading down towards Sydney at some point I'm sure :) We have a diesel car for now, was easier to get started with and it's a lot cheaper to fill it up.
You are gonna miss those ants after you move to Australia. I wish you all the best and your family ♥
oh there are ants in Australia !
@@t00bed once he comes across the most dangerous ant in the world the bulldog which is found in Australia he will be missing them ants in Sweden!
@@thoughts2536 Thanks for removing my comments about the Bull ant. You are like the boss that says the great idea the workers had was actually his..lol
@@EgoFeederz I no admin, I can't remove comments.
@@thoughts2536 Well that is weird considering my comment was just talking about the bull ant and the fact they have venom..
Welcome to 'straya, mate!
A few words of advice:
Wear sunscreen and a hat, even on overcast days.
Drive on the left.
Watch out for drop bears!
All the best with the move, stay safe 👍✊
We are with my family decide to move too. There is too far crazy stuff goin on everywere, and we don't want to be part of it any how. So cheers for move on! And i have one question, did you sell off all of your belongings in the old place, or move something to new place? Cuz', this is so expensive to move things around the globe nowadays.
I remembered a wolf creek movie 😑
Have a good days
After living in Sweden for a few years I understand how you feel. Good luck in your next adventure and keep sharing your experiences.
Queensland has long been known as the Police State, so that should tell you all you need to know..
Hey just discovered your channel. I too live in Brisbane. Welcome!
Happy trails.
It sounds absolutely crazy, stupid and awesome! I hope you have a great time down under. It's a great country filled with wonderful people. Good luck and fly safe!
Wish you all the best for you and your family. Good Luck.
some tubers are moving to spain! check that out. austrailia seems more inhospitable.
Best of luck on your endeavors!
Did you make more videos about Australia, the move, how it is for you and your kid?
Good luck man.
Since you mentioned the war going on in Europe right now, isn't Australia heavily reliant on export/import with China? And China is currently provoking Taiwan like crazy, so I wouldn't be surprised if a war broke out there as well soon. I wonder how Australia would be impacted by that.
Welcome to Australia !!!
As someone who lives here, it's a bad move in my opinion:
The Government is trying to go 100% renewable by 2025 and the energy grid can barely sustain the load as we speak.
Have fun!
Cool! Also it's good you not decided to upload it on some side channel, I suppose those who does not interested, can just skip this video) Personally I found it quite interesting about moving process.
best of luck from INDIA for your new journey of life :)
Thank you!! I appreciate it - and take care :)
Best wishes!
Congrats man
Good luck and Safe Travels!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
you are a brave guy to take this step
I wish I could do the same but I am afraid of my future there.
cool guy, all the best!
WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA!
Good Luck!
Good video, Was great to hear from you. I am interested in hearing about your tesla. was considering one for my family even though I don't like the owner of the company but that's my opinion.
you can collab with BlenderGuru then
Welcome to my country!
I am still happy that I can be in Sweden and be bitten by ants, if something had bitten me if I where in Australia I had get massive panic, and I do get panic when I see small spiders here even I know I can kill them with just two newspapers and a vacuum cleaner, I think Australian spiders is a bit bigger and need more respect :-D
And the Fiat was Pink and Green, at lest was the mold in the ceiling of it a bit green.
He's Back!
Waaah??.. Brisbane.. I have family there, mate!. :) Maybe when I go visit them i’ll stop by and say hi to my favorite lo-poly modeling guru :
Will you ever back with 3d modelling?
Yes =)
Good luck with your move to Australia. I respect the decision to take care of the safety of your children. Hope they will easily go thrue climate change/
By the way thank you for great content. I've been watching you for almost 3 years. Love from Russia 🇸🇪🤝🇷🇺
Good luck !
Yolo
