If I eat something not organic and is GMO my body can detect it immediately! My husband and I just purchased 40 acres to start our own organic an non GMO orchard and garden so I can eat healthy without fear of being contaminated.
Beets you find at the grocery, and GMO sugar beets are two different plants. Sugar beets are large and white, obviously have a high sugar content, and only go into sugar manufacturing.
A couple things. First of all, sugar beets and beets (red which are shown in the video) are different. They come from the same family but are not the same and only the sugar beets are genetically modified. Secondly, even with the increase in farmers growing gmo eggplant in Bangladesh, it is not commercially available in the united states and the US mainly imports eggplants from Mexico, Honduras, and Canada. There is a very slim chance that buying an eggplant in the us is gmo even if not labeled organic.
I totally agree with you. This dude showed a picture of red beets and made it out to be a GMO food. It's the sugar beet that is modified. And even the papaya cone mainly from Central America and Mexico and are non-GMO. You and I are on the same page.
Lots of things can be grown in pots instead of flowers, inside or on your porch. I use grow lights in winter. Sprouting seeds in a Mason jar can provide a great deal of nutrition in less than a week on your countertop.
Gardening is hard and can be an emotional roller coaster; but with talk of food shortages coming, I think its important for everyone to be trying to grow food right now... even if all you have is a Sunny window. If you live in the northern hemisphere and have a south facing taller window, you could even get a little citrus tree or something bigger to put there. If you think the news is bogus and you are not worried about being able to feed your family, grow SOMETHING if only to be in touch with nature! If you want to become self sufficient and be able to eat if there was no food on the shelves, I suggest practicing gardening now. Look for a community garden close to you or if there isn’t one, look into how to start one and get some neighbors to help you like it is a community investment. Make sure you practice soil regeneration techniques when you grow food. Look into no till gardening and other methods to keep the soil healthy. Best of luck
I don't think there's anything safe out there for us to eat 😢. It's scary what we are putting in our bodies. Thanks for all the work you put in for us Dr Berg.
I once read a controversial, poor selling book on female beauty, advising women on diet and how to get a beautiful female body shape I was obsessed with, being young. It said t all food is toxic to a tee or lesser degree and so it is best to only eat the bare amount needed to remain alive because the less you consume, the less toxic stuff goes into your body to make it look so ugly. Fat, pimply, awful skin, bad teeth, h as it falling out, feeling crap all the time etc because you really are full of crap. As a teenager I looked in the mirror and concluded this was definitely true and stopped eating because who wants to look and feel and be crap at that age, with a great life ahead of them that requires a good beautiful, well functioning etc body and a positive attitude etc. I did end up too thin but I was in control and it felt great not putting so much rubbish into my body. Eventually, people complained I was too thin and I noticed I had no energy. So I began to add back in a few more calorific richer but healthier, nutritious CLEAN foods eg nuts, eggs, potatoes etc. Only straight from nature, unprocessed. These types of good natural foods often get bad press eg for fat, chloresterol, salt, sugar etc content. But, unless your doctor tells you you have such health issues, why is ectly thy good natural foods? On the other hand, it is possible to consume some supposedly healthy, even natural foods, that damage your health. It's a case of how your unique body interacts with its food, its environment etc, I suspect and it helps to study this in yourself. Be your own guinea pig and learn from your own cautious experimentation what works or does not, for you .

I was in bio engineering at NCSU in the 70s and that is when they began "splicing" fish and tomatoes together, to put it simply. I dropped out because I could not ethically accept that at all. Ever.
@@chadwellington2524 yeah - you can't tell? I can tell which tomatoes have been injected with fish genes. They smell like fish to me and have a fishy taste. If you were to eat a garden grown organic tomato, and then eat one from the supermarket - there is a huge difference in taste.
This is so sad. The whole fish tomato story started with a fact, and it ballooned into a complete lie. Here's the fact. A company called DNA plant technologies, in the early nineties (not the 70s) tried putting a gene for an antifreeze protein into a tomato. The idea was to have the tomato have a bit more frost tolerance. The gene originated in a cold-water fish. The experiment didn't work. The product never came to be commercially available. Splicing fish and tomatoes together is obvious nonsense, not what happens when a gene is inserted into another species' chromosome.
I don’t necessarily think a food is bad if it is genetically modified, but I’m all for informed consent. Think of all the people who are so picky about their food and the labels needing to know what is in it, but then who didn’t see a problem with taking a jab that they had no clue what was in it...and also trying to force others to get...
I am not necessarily against all gmo foods AFTER they do 10 different 20 year double blind studies on 10,000 people each who aren't afraid of them and the findings are unanimous they are completely safe of all side/bad effects and better for you than natural, organic, heirloom foods.
The absolute worst part that does it for me is how they SHOVE these sugar and unhealthy products in our faces every moment of the day. From driving, passing 15 dunkin donuts, to commercials showing McDonald's, to your grocery store having 5+ aisles of unhealthy products. It's so dumb
It's scary how hard it is to find actual food. On the front label no artificial flavors. When you read the list of nutrients, you will find the natural flavors list is going and going
@@nuffsenuff2890 Nuffs E Nuff, you really need information that you will trust. There are many profoundly anti-GMO sources which provide lists of GMO foods. For example, there is the non-GMO Project. I think you'll find that there is some GMO squash, but that GMO eggplant is limited to the tiny nation of Bangladesh and is not exported to other countries.
I was expecting that most food companies would use the little icon, taking little or no package label space, but that some would opt for the QR code so that they could give consumers a discussion about why they chose the GMO ingredient. I was wrong. Many, probably most, of the QR codes take you to a website with just the word bioengineered, which can only amount to hiding the label because the bioengineered icon on the label takes less space than the QR code. Companies that made that choice are setting themselves up for bad publicity.

Thanks Dr Berg for this video. I’ve recently found your channel searching for ACV and have been watching your videos and changing the way I eat. This video really opened my eyes and this past weekend we just purchased yellow squash, zucchini and beets along with other vegetables that we already consumed. Now that I know these are modified I plan to only buy organic. Thanks for all you do!
No, that's not what is being referred to as detectable. When dealing with transgenic techniques, there is an identifiable genetic component that can be used to determine if a given ingredient has been modified. In most instances, this takes the form a gene construct containing the genetic information to produce a given protein, as well as the regulatory domains needed to control where, when, and how much of the gene product will be produced. When dealing with mutational breeding, and now with gene editing (CAS9, TALEN), this isn't always the case, especially when it's done properly. If a endogenous gene is engineered to have one or more point mutations, SNP in particular, there is literally nothing to differentiate such a mutation from those that are the result of plain old mutation. Don't think that a point mutation can have a profound effect on a given gene, the original source for resistance to glyphosate, 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate or EPSP, was from a bacterial strain that had one single SNP that resulted in an altered amino acid sequence. We've also discovered multiple single mutations that can result in such herbicide tolerance. That's what is being described, not the post processing detection.

Most of the salmon you eat, which are wild caught, are wild caught in the ocean. There are some landlocked salmon and they are excellent, but very few are in stores. The salmon that live in the ocean are born in rivers and after they reach breeding age they swim back to the rivers.

JayGood73, Berg's video is seriously misleading about salmon. There is such a thing as genetically modified salmon, but so little of salmon is genetically modified that you will almost certainly never eat it. In a typical year, the world produces about 60 million tons of farmed salmon. When this video was made, about ten thousand tons of it was genetically engineered. That's one salmon in six thousand. If you eat salmon once a week, you might eat one GMO salmon in thirty years. But wait, the percentage of GMO salmon today is way less than it was two years ago. The company that was raising GMO salmon has stopped producing it.
I used to love eating papaya, but haven't in a couple of yrs now. So good to be made aware of this information. Thank you Dr. Berg. On another topic though, would you please do a video on food carbs versus beverage carbs? I ask because I feel better, and feel like I have more energy when I get my carbs through a beverage. I drink a vitamin water (2g sugar, 18g carbs) with my meal on 3 out of 5 of my omad days and those 3 days that I drink the vitamin water, I feel more energized. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this information. Due to your channel and what you taught me, I now only buy from producers, growers we know personally, just like in the days I was growing up. And thanks to your tips I am now even feeling as good as in those days! That was around 50 years ago ;) Dearly appreciated!
Thanks for your videos. They have been lifechanging for me. Currently I am 4 days in to an attempt to trigger autophagy I have had a nightmare day at work, and probably produced more cortisol than usual. Will that push me out of autophagy?
Possibly. Using b1 as benfotiamine helps. I also use Dr Berg's electrolytes and d3&k2 to drastically reduce damages from stress. There are other data one can use too. Dr Berg's videos on stress will help.
Remember : GMO are not bad for humans, but being intentionaly supperior organisms, they might cause some problems for ecosystem, if not contained right
There is a difference between a sugar beat and a red beat. Sugar beats are white and typically can’t be found stores for instance… Wild caught salmon typically comes from the Pacific Ocean which is contaminated with nuclear radioactive waste. Not much better than genetically modified farm raised salmon.

From my research , the sugar beet is different from the red beet. The sugar is made from white sugar beet, which is mostly GMO. The red beet is eaten as vegetable. They are not GMO. Would you clarify this again.
Yes. I have tried many times with and without for at least 4 years now. His is absolutely superior in quality. It also helps with stress and reducing hunger a lot. Morning Doc!! Thanks for all you do! I've been preaching to my Mom about you and she finally started watching your video and researching things now! 😁
I have Gastroparesis and reoccurring SIBO along with a host of Immune disorders.
Eating organic and non GMO foods is a MUST for my survival. If I eat something not organic and is GMO my body can detect it immediately!
My husband and I just purchased 40 acres to start our own organic an non GMO orchard and garden so I can eat healthy without fear of being contaminated.
Amazing 😻
I hope i will help you
Beets you find at the grocery, and GMO sugar beets are two different plants.
I wish I had a backyard or somewhere to grow my own foods. Thank you for educating us every day Dr Berg 🙏🏿
Community gardens in urban areas are growing in popularity in some states. Best of luck finding some place to grow food
Growing food in your backyard is illegal in certain jurisdictions. It's best left to the expert scientist in their laboratory
@@kendreamer6376 it's not illegal in Florida. I just don't have the place to do it.
Yeah it's getting to the point where you have to basically grow your own food.
And then there is the question.. what is in the water. Look at what they spray in the sky.. geoengineeringwatch
@@blondenataliepage6861 Yeah! We can't stop breathing. I lived in Santa Fe NM for 2 years. We would start out with beautiful blue skies 💙. You're at 7,000 ft. The more I listen to you the more I feel nervous about everything. You make everything seem so dangerous. You're a typical doctor in these times.
I was in bio engineering at NCSU in the 70s and that is when they began "splicing" fish and tomatoes together, to put it simply. I dropped out because I could not ethically accept that at all. Ever.
Good move sir
splice fish and tomatoes?
@@chadwellington2524 not actually, but that is what they called it.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yeah, why trust the pharmaceutical companies if you don't trust the FDA? Is it because the title of "Doctor"
I am not necessarily against all gmo foods AFTER they do 10 different 20 year double blind studies on 10,000 people each who aren't afraid of them and the findings are unanimous they are completely safe of all side/bad effects and better for you than natural, organic, heirloom foods.

Thank you Dr. Berg, always wanted to know what that was. Great video.😊💜

Hi Dr. Berg hope you are well and good.
Thanks for this item. Am surpised ny this list but imagine there are many others.

And I don't live in US, does that mean even the veges here are GMO ?
No. There are quite a few farms raising salmons. In Norway, for example.
Regarding vegetables, you better check the laws in your country.
