It's sad to see the prices for tourists, normally a latte macchiato 2.5€ croissant 1.5€ sandwich 2.5€, exaggerated, but the fact that you always show everything in the videos will be helpful for other tourists. Thanks for your always inspiring videos, I'm Italian and I saw this just out of curiosity :D
Rome is such an easy walkable. City…despite the large crowds it’s still easy to get around…
yeaaah, gotta agree! I'm in Italy myself and just enjoying walking around to explore. Any cool spots you'd recommend for a travel vlogger like me?
Thank you for sharing this beautiful Rome adventure.😊😊😊😊😊😊
I just stayed at the hotel across from the Pantheon our window shutter opened up to the Pantheon and fountain it was amazing…I visited Rome in January it’s a beautiful city…have fun..your video is so clear it’s like I’m right there with you both…best you tubers ever❤
Simply enchanting! ✨ Rome looks more magical than I ever imagined. Your enthusiasm and detailed itinerary make me want to book my flight right now. The information about the Trevi Fountain's history and the amazing views of the Vatican are so inspiring. Grazie mille! ❤
Rome is such an awesome city to walk around. When I was there in 96 I started my walk at the Spanish steps and we just found every famous building one after the other, no need for any maps at all!! The hardest part is not going into every gelato shop you see!! Happy Travels
There are not words to describe the beauty of such city ,of such country!!
Grazie, ciao dall'Italia 😊
Thank you for sharing those bits of history which makes it more relatable and special. ❤
Wow, Rome looks amazing! Just like you, I was blown away by all the history everywhere you turn. The fountains were incredible, especially Trevi, and the Colosseum is just amazing that it's still standing after all this time. Can't wait to hear about your Vatican visit too!
Another Awesome Adventure Rome Italy is very Beautiful Thank You Chris & Carol 🙂❤👍
I love Italy so much! Glad you guys made it to Rome. The entire city, like much of the country is an open air museum…so much beauty and history around every corner! ❤
definitely an open air museum :D
So true!! I'm in Italy myself currently and just enjoying all the experience, (even the scams 😅😂🙈) Any cool spots you'd recommend?
Grazie, ciao dall'Italia 😊
We are arriving in Rome on Saturday from Chicago and this is really helpful. Hope to see you guys there!
Nice! Make sure to go to the places when they open in the morning, it really does get way too hectic later on
Very impressive! You would need several SD cards to capture it all, it’s literally a walking history book wherever you turn.
I love Italy, every city is gorgeous, so much ancient history, the beautiful language and the most delicious food and coffee! the fashions, absolutely everything in Italy is fantastic.
We'd love to one day see this beautiful area. ❤
da italiano ti ringrazio sei molto gentile🌹
👍
Love love love Italy 🇮🇹 ❤
So exciting
Sabrina
Was just there for the first time last week and I fell in love with Rome!! Love it
everywhere is mesmerizing :D
i wish you great success , health, love and happiness!!!🤠
Spectacular photography esp of awesome architecture!! Informative commentary too..Kudos to Chris n Carol..❤🎉
Cheers!
Enjoy your trip guys. What a beautiful country
Chris and Carol, I think Rome has great art, music, history, food and people!
it was an amazing vlog , keep going you two.👊
Bom dia! I spent a week in Rome in April. Stayed at Piazza de Spagna. It is called the Spanish Steps because the Spanish Embassy is located at the bottom of the steps (to the right as you are facing the steps). The news crew you mentioned was at the Italian Parliament building.
I enjoyed your video as always. At 14:45 you didn’t mention the oculus in the Pantheon, it’s the 27 feet wide opening in the roof. With the dome it’s the most remarkable feature of the building in my opinion.
love Italy
Ohh my God ,what beauty!!
Grazie, ciao dall'Italia 😊
ENJOY! The ancient ruins are amazing and the best thing I've done in my life was a guided bike tour of Rome, daylight, twilight and after sunset! Hope you can try it. Love your channel(and Carol's dimples) 🙂
24:38 When you visit a city as historic and important as Rome, you obviously have to inform yourself about what is involved in the history of ancient Rome in order to better understand the things you see. And you, I see that you are well informed. 😊
everything is restored, maintenance is important, but the dome of the pantheon is original Roman and is 2000 years old, it only had a few cracks in 1900, easy to fix; still today the largest dome in the world entirely of unreinforced concrete
The visual are excellent and the music is not an annoying tech beat so that’s refreshing. However, it’s not really a guide because the guides clearly don’t know the history of what they’re looking at. There’s too much speculation about everything rather than knowing what they’re looking at. The woman was listening to a Rick Steves audio guide so she could learn what they were looking at. The couple needed to do their homework and write a script that doesn’t need to be followed closely but helps them when they don’t know what to say. Once again, the camera work and music was great.
We visited Rome a couple of years ago, so it was wonderful to watch your video and reminisce about our trip. Great video of a beautiful city!
It's interesting that you've never been in Rome until now and you have traveled so much! Great Video!
Welcome to Rome, Italy this week in great joy & peace to tours this amazing European country in June of 2024❤❤❤
Rome was really impressive. I went twice before I started to create travel vlogs really everywhere you look is just so dramatic. I would like to spend more time there roaming no pun intended. When I was younger I walked from the vatican area almost to the train station. I was not able to find a hostel and I couldn’t find a cab late at night. Finally I got a cab and a hotel super late at night and slept a couple of hours before getting back up to go see the sights. I had a lot of self reflection that night walking alone in the dark.
I'm so glad you're doing an Italy series! Since I plan to go next year 🙏🏽
it will only be rome for now but we will definitely be back
@@JumpingPlaces oooohhh. Well it's something at least.
I found your channel when doing research for Morocco. I'm so happy to see Carol still wearing the scarf she bought there (or at least I think it's still the same one) 😊 Thank you so much for this informative tour ❤
So much fascinating history. Thank you for bringing us along 😁
Thanks for showing one of my fave spots in Rome- the base of the Spanish Steps! Since it's about halfway between the Forum and the Vatican, this became a very popular address for English expats from the late 1700's to the First World War- and John Keats (1795-1821) spent his last few months in the top floor of the house immediately on the righthand side looking up the steps. Even though he was totally shut off from the outside world due to his fatal, incurable TB, from his sickroom he got to hear the bustling of the marketplace that in the Piazza de Spagna below AND he was fascinated hearing the playing of the Fontana della Barcacilla - (fountain of the little boat) which, according to legend, was carved in the shape of a little boat after the 1598 flood of the Tiber River swept a small boat into the Piazza. Oh, and on the left side is Babbington's Tea Room (an English tea room that's been in business since 1893 after a pair of women tourists from Great Britain and New Zealand founded it after being upset at the scarcity of tea in Rome back then).
Anyway, you sure have found some great spots in Rome and it's great you went at a relatively quiet time in good weather. Beautiful video as always! Thanks!
15:42 that is the queen to whom the first pizza in the world was dedicated with: tomato, mozzarella and basil
Love, love, love Rome!
truly incredible place!
I hope you explore the Italian culture, Chris and Carol!
Wow great video my friends.❤
Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Mexico. 🇲🇽✌🏼
Cheers! We need to get back to Mexico
Wow i would have thought you would have been there already. We love Rome.
The Pantheon is one of the greatest engineering marvels of the last 2000 years
So now I can cross off another "bucket list" place since you folks provided me an excellent tour. Thanks for sharing your adventures to places I'll never see. ❤
Those were definitely “tourist” prices. My recommendations include: Pizza with Nutella. Any smaller pizzeria will make it for you. It’s just the hot dough fresh out of the oven topped with Nutella (incredible)
There is a chain of eateries called “Frontonis”. Must try the “pizza sandwich” that you pay based on the weight you want. I always go for prosciutto piu mozzarella di buffalo with spinach.
I would also try just a fresh ball of mozzarella di buffalo and Spaghetti a la carbonara which is a typical, simple dish but full of flavor. Just amazing!
Ciao!
Thanks for the tips :D
Totally my pleasure! I’ve spent a lot of time in Italy, especially Rome. Hope you guys have a wonderful trip!
Am glad they don't have skyscrapers that mar the line of sight for the Vatican. Amazing architecture!
really beautiful shot from that bridge
Love this video as Roma is one of my top 5 favorite cities. You will enjoy your next visit to Roma even more now that you got the tourist sites out of the way. The Colosseum is spectacular and even more so when you learn it once had a retractable roof. Next time you visit Roma however, explore some or all of the its 22 districts. Each one has hundreds of fabulous streets to wander and countless restaurants. My favorite neighborhood to visit is Trastevere. Also make sure you catch the Colosseum at night when it’s all lite up. Safe travels 😊
Can you guys make a video on how to choose good accommodation, especially 1-3 months if you ever stayed that long in one place, how do you find good flights? Which platforms do you use(airbnb, booking, etc) tips on how to negotiate prices, etc
I stayed in that hotel by the Pantheon. Had a little balcony. Looked like you could touch the Pantheon. Looked down over the piazza. Just amazing. I think it was around 400 USD, so not that crazy.
going to Rome at the end of August can't wait !!
it's truly incredible! Just make sure yo go to places early though, it really does make a huge difference.
panini means a pressed sandwitch
Commonly just called a panini, it combines the primary characteristic of a sandwich, placing food between slices of bread, and the unique aspect of pressing the sandwich with a panini press to give it defined and golden brown ridges.
Hi Chris and Carol luv your Rome tour!Carol I can see you falling in love with Rome now,it was a beautiful day for your sightseeing/vlog,enjoy ❤
Definitely in love with the city ❤❤❤
Hey guys, love your Rome video. Dunno if you have time or plans but try to visit Sardinia and see how do the beaches compare to the other beaches you have visited! You'll be blown away! Enjoy!😮
Roma is wonderful, and you guys have made amazing views. Very nice video.
It really is!
that full shot ......saw the aqueduct in the back ground , is huge !
I met Rick steves at a travel show in Dallas and he took a picture with me and signed my Portugal book of his. The original travel vlogger
Chris and Carol, welcome to the Rome, Italy 🇮🇹 😍 😀 ❤ ♥ 💙 in Italian.
Carol, would you be willing to dedicate a video to share your skin care and hair care routine while jumping places? 😊
Skin care I don’t do much, just wash my face with soap every morning and then I apply “Olay age defying anti-wrinkle 2 in 1 day cream + serum” followed by La Roche Posay invisible fluid 50+ sunscreen. My hair products are always changing depending on the availability of the countries that we go but after washing it I always go with a moisturizing defying curl cream followed by some curl gel (alcohol free) 😊
Always such great videos and info on the history. Really makes it special🙌
Glad you like them :D
I hope you went to San Clemente. A small church with temples and churches in the underground. Literally layers of history
Great video - I saw these places about 4 years ago - for the budget conscious travelers, getting a slice of pizza inside the shopping mall kiosks is about 2 Euros rather than 12 euro full pizza which is good for a family of 4
thanks for the tip :D Chris eats the entire family of 4 size on his own though haha
Hello, thanks for your video. Can you please tell me the best place to pre-purchase the Colosseum tickets?
👍It feels a bit strange to see you, beach lovers, in such a classic and solemn context 🇮🇹 You picked the best time of the year: Schools nearly closed, football season over and not stifling hot yet 😉
Watching from France, once again thank you for sharing your trip to Rome 😊❤😊
Our pleasure!
We are here too! Staying at the same area as you. Hope to bump into you! You have been so helpful in all our travels. We do the same style of traveling as you. 😊
the video was posted after we left, hope you are having an awesome time!
Thank You both for all your great videos! 🦋🦋🌹🌹🥰
Congrats on completing visiting all 7 wonders of the world absolutely amazing 👏 ✔️😊
Thanks so much! 😊
We were there 2 years ago. No charge for Pantheon then!
Yeah it’s a recent change it seems
It is so true what you said about Rome, all you have to do is walk and something amazing shows up. During my visit to Rome in autumn of 2023, I was so amazed (and overwhelmed) on how beautiful the Catholic Churches are. And not just the churches, the other buildings & plazas are just as amazing. Rome should be a must for anyone who loves art and architecture. For me, personally, I feel that Italian food made here in the USA are better than Italian foods I’ve eaten in Italy. Also, our pizzas here in the USA are much better than those I sampled in Italy.
Mi spiace ma il tuo palato non è abituato a mangiare bene….
Great video! I am wondering if how many steps you made on every walk trip you did. Seems to be huge
Wow, you guys move fast 😊❤
Wow, it's stunning! Take care you two ♥♥
Thank you! You too!
Brilliant. I was in Rome for the world cup in 1990. Your video makes me want to go back. 👍😊🇮🇪💙🇮🇹
Nice! Was it crowded back then already?
It was. It was a time before mobile phones and google maps, and UA-cam. 🤣 I had a fantastic time with friends. I went up to the very top of the dome in St Peters. Fantastic history and architecture. 👍😊💙
@@donstravelsandrants.we go to the top of there in the next video 😁
Super cool.
Rome is on my list for sure , Thank you, amazing video 🍺🍺
Love Roman i I was there last year. Enjoy it guys.
The most beautiful city in the world!! have many times and still dont know enough!!
True, true and true in all aspects.
Can see why you think that, might be the best capital that we have visited :D
The Spanish steps there is hefty fine of 250€ primarily for tourists for sitting or lying on the steps
Yesss! Love Rome. TIP: Terme di Caracalla
Hadrian gets a mention , was over in the UK for a while :-)
Now I am delighted to see you there..and jealous😂 ...check The region of Puglia .....❤❤❤❤ be well and safe

Chris and Carol, this is your first time in Rome, Italy?
yes
Spectacular thank you 🤍
Beautiful place
welcome in my country and my hometown!!!!! Enjoy ♥
Great stuff; awesome city to visit. Near the top of my list.
Very nice video, very impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you too
nice place for the embassy folk :-)
With 65 million tourists per year (2019) according to ISTAT, Italy is the fifth most visited country in international tourism arrivals.
Reminds me of Spain and Portugal. Don't mean to offend, but not much green space. I couldn't believe how green the US is compared to places in Europe. At least they preserve their architecture.
Ownn one of my favorite cities in Europe 🩷🩷🩷 Love your videos! I super recommend a Brazilian sushi place called Sambamaki is amazing! Beijinhos imensos! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Thanks for the tips!
What’s the e book called?
