Hello Mr. Taff, Sir, Love the battles but you leave your line with no depth or reserves? You need Infantry behind your Artillery to counter attack! Pikemen are excellent for this task or a weaker unit of Infantry turned off fire at will of course
Ah hi there Taff! I hope you are feeling better, you're sounding better at least. A bit of a reminder, You need to manually order your troops to replenish their losses, unlike in Napoleon Total War. I do believe that is one of the things the comments have been saying. That, and to build up London as your best city, and build your armies there, for extra goodness apparently. The battle was certainly a great showcase of the new Fire-by-rank, though the artillery crews and that one regiment of Hessians were certainly none too pleased about it! I've noticed that you stretch your forces into a single narrow line, which has shown to be not as effective in Empire than in Napoleon. Perhaps bunch your troops together more, and put some regiments in reserve just in case? Fire by rank certainly removes the need for long, thin lines. Also, In Empire, a prepared line of infantry is better for dealing with cavalry, especially if it's flanks are secured. The ones on the edges are the ones that should be Squared when cavalry attack. And, as some comments here say, have some pikemen, or infantry, directly behind the cannons in case of enemy attack, to take the blow for the guns. Also also, I believe that was the first actual bayonet charge you've ordered, in both Empire and Napoleon! (Not counting that one with the armed citizenry in your Prussia Playthrough.) Granted, it went badly, but it was the First!
"Florida would be A great gain." See if you feel that way after you try to hold an election there or teach science or history. Good luck with Florida Man as well!
To get your artillery men in square, select artillery. Click the crossed sward icon which puts them in melay and you can move them in to a square the whe the three has past select you gunners a click on the guns to resume bombardment
You should really try out a Great Britain walkthrough with the Pirates Uber Alles mod once you finish the vanilla series. Also in regards to agent spawning I believe your game might be bugged
From the days of the Raj apparently, to go "Blighty" started off as Urdu. Only got popular in WW1, when "A blighty wound" meant you were being sent over the Channel to recover, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blighty
You should keep pike men behind your cannons. Then if it looks like the cannons under attack get the crew to run behind the pikes
Or grenadiers!
No matter how long these videos are, they always seem to go too quickly. Absolutely loving this series!

Pikemen are great as a defensive unit. Pair them up with some light infantry and you’ll basically be unstoppable against cavalry and melee attacks

Good old Taff; pointing and clicking and committing genocide in the Americas
1 min. and I'm number 1!! woot!
Loving the series!! But i do have a question, why do you not replenish your armies my good sir?
Please build cannon's in London and sail them overseas. In your 1. Napoleon game with the English they were lacking big guns everywhere. Thanx.
If short on money sell your technology to minor nations
I would do a reinstall as the game is clearly bugged on you. There should have been several agents spawned by now.
Yank inquiring: Why do you call England "Blighty"?
It's an old saying. "Blighty old England" or something similar.
