Taking all the good stuff from the old build and adding brushless magic, along with a more deadly weapon? This is going to be a great successor to the name: Black Dragon.
I don't think you could make me click a video much faster than a video on your channel about Black Dragon! Its truly impressive what they have been able to do without making any major updates until now and the new Black Dragon looks like it'll continue the powerful legacy we've come to expect from team Uairrior! I'm glad they've managed to make the weapon bigger as while I hope it doesnt compromise that hardiness they've become known for it will definitely be exciting to see them land more major hits on opponents!
Also looking forward to seeing what video you come out with next! Hope everyone in both teams had some very happy holidays. :)
When I first saw Black Dragon, I’ll admit I wasn’t super impressed, it was another vertical spinner. But this team has shown this robot is not to be taken lightly, and I think this upgraded version could definitely get them to the finals. Both of the new weapons look super deadly!

Black dragon gets knocked out one time and they need to design it from the ground up. Gotta respect the commitment! Can’t wait to see it fight.
Um...Actually twice. Ribbot KO'ed them as well. :( Riptide was just the one who ended the streak first.
But I would honestly love to see a grudge match with BD being the winner!

I won't lie, I'd love to see so many gurdge matches against Riptide with Riptide losing. Shred winning would make me laugh so hard - I've seen them working with new equipment during Champions II and Vengeance in Vegas, and while they're still losing matches, I honestly like seeing them trying new things, which counts the most imo (though obviously those W's would prove these attempts worth considering again in S8).
I won't lie, I'd love to see so many matches with Black Dragon winning, but no hating Riptide, cuz please leave this team alone.
We love the Brazilian teams. They bring such great bots, and they always seem to have so much fun. We usually root for them, sorry Scorpios.
In BattleBots 2022
One of the things I find really neat about this sport is the level of comradery between many of the different teams. Sure, it's all properly competitive and there's always some shit-talking going on with the matches, but I get the impression that behind the scenes it's mostly good natured, friendly, supportive stuff amongst folks who are genuinely passionate about what they're doing. And it's vids like this one that reinforce that. Strangely quite wholesome for a 'violent' sport ;-)

Now for something a bit more practical. Man you really need some good microphones! For 20-30$ you can get a kick-ass lavalier microphone by Boya. I got a by-M1 and it is A GAME CHANGER. If you're willing to put a few more Washingtons down, they also make wireless ones.
It's a bit of a hassle to setup the mics before a shot but you get so much better audio!
Oh oh. Black Dragon is coming back with vengeance. I wonder how many other bots besides Black Dragon and Skorpios are coming back new and improved. Because I feel the next season is going to be particularly messy and vicious. I can't wait to see this beast in action!
Possible they can highlight the Brazil Wheels, would be interested in knowing more about them as they seem to be highly rated.
Has anyone seen a good video or thread on Brazil Wheels?
Brazil wheels are just standard rubber wheels but with the rubber vulcanized (heated up, add some sulphur and (injection) molded under pressure) which makes them a lot tougher where they just flop around weapons instead of having chunks taken out compared to standard PU molded wheels like the ones used on for example Copperhead.
They aren't that special by themselves but the manufacturing process is quite dangerous (high pressure hot liquid rubber, toxic gasses) and you need some specialized equipment (heated press, custom molds for the wheels) so not many people do it, Ua!rrior started with them hence them being named "Brazil Wheels", but I think team SMEEEEEE is making them as well.
There are some videos of non combat robotics people molding them but I don't think you can really fill an entire video on it since the process is quite straight forward and wouldn't really have a lot of content.
@@bami2 Exactly. Some people always seem to think it's some magic arcane technology. It's just vulcanized rubber wheels.
I am Brazilian so Black Dragon and Minotaur ( especially Minotaur form RioBotz ) are always my favorites. I hope the new changes improve the robot, but what really happens with new improvements is that something always broke. I hope that they discovered the problems fast and fix them and make to the finals.
I like the look so far,looking forward to the full bot with the paintwork and that weapon can do alot of damage
Does Black Dragon want to hire a welder? I saw their welds and I bought them a grinder for Christmas. But seriously, some of those welds look like they've been downhand welded, compromising their front armour. Every little bit counts especially in the box!
Black Dragon is significantly larger than I was expecting honestly. It always looked so compact next to the other bots on the show, but seeing it up close it is so much larger. Even the weapon looked comparably small on the show, but it's actually really meaty.
All the robots look smaller on the show than they actually are
@@jacksigmon9426 I know that. I meant it looked compact and one of the smaller bots in the field, like closer to like Copperhead or Tantrum, but Black Dragon next to a human looks far bigger than either of those look next to a human.

Honestly pretty exciting to see them put more power in the weapon along with better weapon geometry. Are those the same motors hypershock and riptide run for their weapon?
Black Dragon since s4 looks very similar and their weapon is decent, so idk how much better they can do in s8 but they did great in champions 2
I always love getting to see behind the scenes of other teams. I am curious though, with an increased weapon speed why did they decide to go to a two tooth weapon design? I would think they'd want to stay one tooth to get maximum bite from the faster speed.
So the batteries are going in the back now? I guess it will be less fireproof?

I think RipTide changed everything for everyone …Riptide has to be favorite to win the next Giant Nut.

I think it is quite good, quite similar to the first model, but with more engine power, the driving and weapon batteries will be together? This could be a point of weakness...

i just have to say this. most welds on all these bots look awful
Zack I have to know are you going to put wheel guards on Skorpios and actually start taking battlebots more seriously then UA-cam ex: SawBlaze “ congrats Jamison for winning the battle of the hammer saws.” You put a massive sword to the replace the weak weapon for no real reason, me “that looks like a hammer saw to me”.
Can’t understand anything he’s saying, I know what would help, music while he talks…😅
