From having had miniature dachshunds in my family for my entire life, one little quirk I've noticed(at least with the majority of dachshunds that I've been in contact with, as well as talking with many other dachshund families), is that dachshunds tend to bond closer with humans of the opposite gender. "Daddy's girl" & "Mama's boy" are terms I hear *_A LOT_*

It is just like humans. Human males take way longer to mature, are more goofy, more dependent, like to have a strong female around to handle real life because they just want to goof off and have fun and adult as little as possible. Human males are even way more difficult to potty train, according to my friends who have both sons and daughters; just like male dogs are more difficult to potty train than females. Human females are more mature, independent, can take care of themselves at a much younger age, and know when it is time to have fun and when it is time to adult. Dachshunds pretty much follow the same template as humans as far as gender.
