Awesome, yours is the finest channel for the Obsidian obsessed! Love the rundown of new features and plugins, so we stay up-to-date without having to install and test everything out ourselves first. Thank you 😊
Tha kyou and glad I could help 😁
"You could use regular expressions but who really knows what that is"
😆
Aha, it is true 😆
Awesome video as usual! I also like that the pace is a little bit slower than previously. It makes it easier to follow. Keep up the great work! Thank you very much
🧡🧡
Very helpful Video- Thank you!!
🧡🧡
Thanks for your fantastic communication work!
Obsidian is improving exponentially
Thanks for your amazing plugin development!
I've been trying to step up my databasing game in Obsidian after trying out Tana as, like you, I'm likely sticking to Obsidian. The overviews on the database plugins have been quite helpful! Thanks for sharing
Another one coming soon!
Thanks Danny! This is very useful and will save me a lot of time finding features I'm interested in. I thought the pace was great too.
That is great to hear. It was a focus for this one 😁
Thanks Danny. I now know what I'm doing on Boxing Day! Merry Xmas 🎅
😁🧡
Great video, thanks! This app keeps getting better and better!
💯🧡
Love your videos, simple and easy-to-understand. How can I extract annotations from PDFs, Danny?
I personally use the zotero plugin
Hello Danny, thanks for your nice videos. I really like the way you present.
I was wondering if obsidian can search through images, screenshots, pdfs etc. the way we can do in OneNote
Thia sounds like you are refering to OCR which acn b3 done with a recent plugin. Obsidian OCRwhich was in my obsidian october video.
Everything else can be searched uaing the default search or quick switcher.
@@DannyHatcherTech Thanks Danny
Hi! I'm trying to find if you've made a previous video about the Projects Plugin and how you use it, as this just mentions the update that was done to it, but it looks like a very interesting plugin. A search on your channel gave me too many videos to search through because you use the work Project and Plugin a lot (for obvious reasons! lol) Thanks!
I don't have a video on it as I don't use it. I think Nichile has a video on her channel about it.
@@DannyHatcherTech Ah! That explains it! I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize myself and I've always been a big fan of checklists, but I'm looking at all the options (that plugin, kanban, tasks).
Thank you for the quick reply!
@@andreecaron3061 dataview, dbfolder, tasks, and projects are great options. The metadata menu plugin is also a good option - more about that one tomorrow
It's so nice to see a fellow Windows user, for once! It almost seems that all youtubers use Apple products!
I know how you feel 😆
hahah yeh totally
Is the grouping feature in the canvas one that is not released officially? Or why am I missing it?
It was released with everything else. It is a right click option.
Not sure about the Linux comment below as I am windows user 🤷♂️
@@DannyHatcherTech Thank you for the clarification.
Hi Danny! I wanted to ask you about your stance on obsidian minimalism, I remember when you didn't even used dataview (pretty much the power user entry plugin) and relied mostly on tags, and generally used very few plugins, and now you use even more advanced ones like projects and DB folder. What made you change your workflow and system? (Edit: he doesn't use projects, just db folder as a main plugin for convenience)
I don't use projects and I only use dataview in a couple of places, dbfolder is the main plugin
The main reason is small conveniences when doing things often eg, open and saving workspaces, going to the same search, finding lists of files etc.
@@DannyHatcherTech thank you for the reply, I thought you started using projects and got confused, thank you for clarifying! I also prefer db folder by itself and it's developer it's making a stellar job updating it. Greetings from Perú and stay safe, love your channel!
@@santiagorivera9934 The developer is in the comment section if this video somewhere 😁
The workspaces feature is a bit tricky though. It kind of clones the files from the main branch into your workspace. If you delete any file in your workspace it deletes it from the whole vault so workspaces are not a place to organize files they are more like an extension of your main folder....
A workspace saves the layout, that is all.
If you delete the file, the workspace cant load it.
I use lots of workspaces with no issuea.
I think you were talking a little to slow in some of this one 😅
Aha, I slowed down from all the 'too fast' comments 🤦♂️😆
I noticed a few minutes in and it felt "weird" so I speeded it up to 1.25x and it felt like Danny again 😂
@@ElvenStone aha, I think that is a good thing 😆
Do you see a use case for Projects and Database? Or do you just find that Database does it for you?
I use full calendar and database folder so projects doesn't have a use for me.
Nice, flow, this is what Microsoft was supposed to be getting around to implementing to Onenote, although called loop. My sudden breakup with Onenote is becoming a clearer good move.
Thankyou. Obsidian is making big moves and I am looking forward to 2023
I'm still so confused about how flow in the make plugin works even after reading documentation in discord
Essentially it lets ypu edit embeds... the rest is just a different typw of view 😁
@@DannyHatcherTech lol oh.... You know it was not until I watched this video two times where I actually got what you were saying. I overcomplicate things lol 😂
Danny, did they tell you to speak normally, or did they have to slow down the playback for us humans?😀
I have got enough comments about speaking to fast that I thought I would slow down
Hi Danny can u please help me out for using open ai plug-in of text generator in obsidian and text generator prompts also
Could you be more specific?
1:30 glossary to display all file content at once
Is that a tinestamp I missed or a persinal one for you?
