Band-Maids main composer is Kanami. Miku is the main lyricist (though Saiki has been writing lyrics recently too - as in "Hate?"). You should check out their first MV "Thrill" - this MV went viral worldwide and saved the band from being dumped by their label.
Miku said she doesn't write about her personal experiences in the lyrics.

Chronologically, "Alone" is Band-Maid's fourth single and also the first song composed by them that was included on an album.😎

Saiki is using her lowest range because Kanami wrote it that way. Supposedly Saiki told Kanami the melody was lower than she could sing. Kanami essentially said don't worry, we will figure it out.

Saiki: "3...2...1...GO! Kanami: hold my coffee...🎸🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶 You're right, first song the Maids wrote, which the powers that be approved. The Maids took hold of their musical direction and never looked back. A huge milestone event in the Band-Maid history timeline. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
    Next try:
"Manners" & "Black Hole" Official Live MV - a fantastic two-for to see two different sides of the Maids. "Manners" a groovy/bluesy feeling song. And "Black Hole"...a ripping chaotic ride into a black hole. Buckle up as it's their fastest song in their catalog at 220bpm.
"Warning" OMV - A song to get your heartbeat "racing".
"Daydreaming" OMV - Their rock ballad masterpiece and my favorite song.

Saiki did an important statement the first few seconds in this mv. She throws her mic stand to the floor and she never uses any ever since.

As replicated by MISA who doesn't like to sing if she can avoid it (But can) by lobbing the mic stand at the end of the "Don't You Tell Me" MV. That means her & Saiki are the only two to have both chucked their mic stands & both been barefoot on stage at the same time.😁

Saiki's voice goes pretty low on Daydreaming. (...which is awesome, btw) Saiki is an alto. Miku is a soprano and covers the high parts 95 percent of the time.
If you want to check out a really awesome and heavy Band Maid song, I highly suggest----> Moratorium - Live 4K+CC (You'll be blown away!)
All of their live stuff is amazing!

Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well, look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy, yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), against Kanami's up-tempo, complex, yet rockin' music, is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles, imxo! Thx, Nathaniel and Casey!

KANAMI wrote lots of music for the band but, was never accepted by management until the song ALONE. Saiki's great contribution behind the scenes was her encouragement to Kanami not to get discouraged and to keep writing. Miku wrote the lyrics. Thank you, Saiki.

"Kanami's just losing it over there." Yep, this is what we sometimes refer to her as being taken over by Mincho (short for Kanamincho), who is like this alter-ego that makes her go berzerk often when playing. You have to love an artist that gives themselves over to the music with that much abandon. She's like a dark faerie princess of guitar. 😄
    Rock on, gents!

Saiki-san has always been an alto but I think her range was super limited before surgery. Now, she’s able to sing higher. Her, now years, of vocal training helps too.

they are savvy - 'alone' was released on valentine's day. no cheap grace with miku's lyrics. i think there is some kind of effect on saiki's voice for the verses - someone more knowledgeable than me can tell you what that is! this is a wonderful live song esp when the crowd joins in for the whoah oh... sections... kanami is a songwriting genius across many sub-genres within rock genre as a whole.

Saiki is/was always the lower vocals. Miku tends to thread above and below Saiki. In older songs(especially in lives) Miku emulated/matched Saiki's voice from time to time as well. Miku just doesn't have that vocal push/power that Saiki has and they've all grown into their roles more naturally

You have to look closely, but in the first few seconds of the video, you can see Saiki kick the mic stand to the floor. This was the last time she used a mic stand. Kanami wrote the song with lyrics by Miku.
