I'm dying for a LeBron 4 retro. As a kid, I've never had a happier time than going to the Nike flagship store in San Francisco, back then called Niketown near Union square and picking up a pair of these. My classmates made fun of them. One kid called them ugly and I responded with, so's your mom but the fact that you exist means there's hope for everything. Got called in to the principal's office for a nice chat about the etiquette of conversing with peers but at the end, he said my shoes looked cool. Good times....
My brother, I still have a pair of the OG 4s in the box that I bought back in 2007. Tried to hoop in them a few years back on my birthday and the damn strap ripped off immediately 😂😂😂

Nice review, I think that I had these in white with gold accents back in the day. Very sturdy shoe, my pair lasted for years before dying. It's cool to see these coming back, just hoping for more colorways. Weartesters puts out another dope video!
I had those white and gold joints back in college too! Those were the West Coast edition 🙌
I had the black and red/crimson pair when they came out. For me it was one of the best overall basketball sneaker for both indoor and outdoor courts. I played in mine for years until they finally had no more grip. The only issue I had with the is the weight, they were heavy duty. ✌️
These were great back in the day. The 2&3’s were the only main line LeBron’s out of the first four that didn’t feel like boots made for big men. In HS we got to pick which shoes we wanted from the team pack and these were my lock door my sophomore year. It was like hooping in a AJ 12 or 13. Really great.
Oh, what did I pick for my freshman year you ask? One of the greatest shoes I’ve ever played in that they refuse to retro… the 20-5-5. Bring ‘em back!
LeBron became the NBA all-time scorer today. And I got this to commemorate it. Since its on sale already and then they chop an additional 20% off. Awesome pick up! I'm glad I waited.

Hi, i am from Croatia. Today i picked up a brand new pair of these at my local basketball store. They were 60 % off, i paid 74 euros, it was a steal. Chris, thanx for all the gopd work that you do.
I had white/gold back in the days. Awesome hoop shoes. The only bad thing is the metal parts would grind the shoe laces bad.
I live in the greater Pittsburgh area and deal with Ohio natives a lot and they have all said AK-Run. I'm not sure if it's an accent thing cuz it sure is spelled like AK- Ron
Favourite bron shoe, great shoe! The traction is great on court, lockdown is great and the build quality was solid. Only beef is, the lacelets pop laces. At least on the original pairs it did since lacelets were metal.
The snugness and Zoom compensate for the weight. Bouncy shoe!

The brown and gold joints were my favorites. The cushion was amazing back in the day. Hope to get another pair soon
Loved hooping in these back in the day, will be getting every retro of Lebrons 11 and earlier!
I had the OG bred colorway back in 2005 that I bought on release day. It was the most luxurious sneaker I had ever owned up to that point and probably still is. The packaging alone was top notch with the drawer box and dust bag. I was big into leather jackets at that time and I would rock these casually with my Wilson leather overcoat. I played in them too for a season of intramurals and they were durable AF and while they were comfortable underfoot, the back tab ate up my Achilles. The next season I moved on to the Jordan XXI which was my first ever pair of J's and to this day the best shoe I've ever hooped in!

I had the black and red when they originally came out. They were very cool looking and a robust shoe. The rigid pointed tab on the heel can dig into the back of ankle a little if u are trying to play in them
I love lebron designs in the first of 2000s , something very dope and the mixing between 90s and 21st century in design and textures . From 1s to 4s really dope.
I played in the originals back in the day. I'd describe these as the most comfortable Timberlands that I've ever worn. Super comfortable, ultra heavy!

I bought this shoe at Nike and I loved the size it is perfect it does not bother and a lot of comfort it is quite elegant I loved those colors👍
The Christ the King 3s is one of the most beautiful shoes I've ever owned. On top of that, their so comfortable and are straight up tanks. They are the Jordan 12 of the Lebron line. Cushioning and comfort have always been in Lebron's shoes.
Just copped these at the nike outlet and they are fire , some of the most comfortable shoes ever ....

I owned the original black/red pair. Played ball in em so much and owned the white original pair destroyed those. I wore these barber shops today. Love it feels so good. A little sneaker celebration for the Lebron James and Bronny James on the same team
i love these reviews! saw these on sale, AMAZING deal, i just WISH Chris would add some comparison for "how heavy", cause Lebron has this con abt the weight, and It'd be xtremely imformative to have these weight compared to modern shoes, like the newer brons or newer Jordans etc
The soilder 3s and zoom 5 fearless were my basketball shoes and loved them
I got the "Houston Oilers" colorway when they came out and I love them. I ought to play in them but they're so pretty and I have other options so never did. But from a casual perspective they are comfortable

Bulletproof construction. The OGs heel support ate my Achilles like crazy and the metal lace holders made me burn thru laces fast cos I like that tight lock down. Amazing for outdoor courts too. Extreme durability, maybe the hardiest shoe of all time.
My brother I have the same exact thoughts! Went through so many damn laces 😅😅😅 until the metal holders broke off completely.
Just grab a black Angelus paint marker and bam u got the all black version.. haha… great vid againG!
The LBJ 3 were the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned but they were not the lightweight. Had the bred colorway on the release day. Retail was like $90 bucks!!
Definitely one of my favorite shoes ever! Traction outdoor and indoor was a beast and was mad comfortable. The metal lace eyelets destroyed two pairs of shoelaces and I could never get the laces to lock down as tight as I would like.
As much as I loved them, that lace/eyelet thing was brutal. I wish they'd just added a traditional eyelet near the top. Would have made it easier on the laces and improved lockdown.
@@jcash1584 at one point I considered cutting the metal ones off and going thru the leather holes they're connected with. If these had a speed lacing system they would've been S Tier.

My favorite pair of lebrons. I had got these for my 16th bday. Held on to these for about 4-5 years and gave them to my homie to hoop in them (they were beat by this time) and I never got them back
Aesthetics wise the original white/black version is hands down best looking lebron ever, for me. I still own the original pair. needs refurbishing. true to size. heavy. If you find it wide then wear 2 pair of socks. grip wise, it's average but it doesn't slip on you either. cushion is fantastic. material is old school, thick and strong. the amount of foam they used for the upper is SO comfortable. Due to the tough leather material they used for the upper, it's hard to get a strong lock down. the metallic shoelace holes they used will worn out your shoelace. make sure you wear socks that are high enough to cover up the heel tap. 🤩😍🥰

It looks like whoever designed these got their inspiration from the Nike uptempo which is a cool shoe. I definitely like these. Not a bad looking shoe. The Lebrun 9s are nice too
Nice review as always. My favorite colorway of these is the blue/white but didnt manage to find them. Back in 2006 i had a few teammates having them but i was rolling with Jordan 12s back then. I tried to play in the oilers colorway 2 years ago but the collar at the back and the achilles is too stiff. It hurt my achilles and had already some issues with them so after three practices i stopped wearing them and moved them to the off court rotation. I wonder if the black colorway has softer leather at the back. They go as low as 89 euros here in Europe and is really tempting to get another one. I wanna play in them for sure.

I had my front zoom pod popped after around a year playing outdoor. Other than that, they’re great. Oh also, the metal lace aglets might cut them laces if one is to fast very tight. Luckily I didn’t ripped my 2018’s. I did back in the 05 tho 😆

I had an OG pair of these in the white and navy colorway. The heel tab dug into my Achilles a little but other than that, these and the 2’s were probably the best shoes I’ve ever balled in 🙌🏼
I had the same ones! Back then we all wore no show ankle socks, that was definitely part of the problem lol. I don’t think we had elite socks yet back then!
Late 90s early 2000 was the golden age for basketball shoes... I was so in love that I wanted ALL! Now, hard to get any excitement on any model

The genuine surprise and shock coming from Chris when Jodi said she liked the shoe was EVERYTHING! 😆❤️ These are one of my favorite Lebron designs. For some reason I always thought they were full length large volume zoom but good to know it’s forefoot and rear.
Great vid as always. It's a shame that they don't make way more shoes with tough traction like this much anymore. When they do, it has iffy cushion. I know it's a business tactic, but it's a shame.

The OG style lace aglets were metal and would shred your laces apart over time. Otherwise my first and favorite model of Lebrons to play in despite the weight issue.
Got this on low man...and all I can say...hands down...arguably..the best bron shoe oat!!

these were my team shoes in high school, got them in 2008 and i wore them semi consistently balling/doing labor jobs till they got ruined in a flood last year
Fun fact. The OG eyelets were metal and shredded the hell out of the laces. Literally would tear them in one session out. Our came the hole puncher and I fixed it on my Navy OGs.
Lebron 3s...my favorite lebron. The all black with the burgundy bottom..I bust the bubble I wore those when I delivered for ups back in 05..they were like boots when u put them on and the leather was very good quality back then and they are bootlike similar to the jordan 12s..once they on they on and ain't coming off
The red white and blue bands are a nice touch. Jordan might have to borrow that as they have a few shoes with that same lace eyelet design concept
One of the best performing shoes when it came to cushioning and all around fit....BUT... I got tired of changing the laces cuz the metal lace loops kept on eating them up. Also the leather gave a little over time so the forefoot has a little more space than id like.....

My favorite shoes growing up. Had the original white and navy and then was about to pick up the retro navy and white. Basically the same shoe. Takes a while to break in but they are so comfortable once you do. To me, the new retro ones run a half size small.
This is the comment I was looking for. Sneaker politics has them on sale but only a bigger size than what I wear. So I’m gonna take a chance on em. Can’t beat this nice shoe for $100

I went through two pairs of the navy and white color way hooping in college around 2005-2007. Loved those damn shoes, but the metal lacing system would rip the laces crazy, and sometimes even break off completely.
Played with the 2019 version. Great cushion and support especially for a person who plays center or power forward.
Silhouette reminds me of the Kobe 1s. I had a pair of lebron 4s those where some tanks. I might give these a try if I can get them retail.

I have the Christ the king and svsm retros that Nike released a few years ago. They’re soo comfy. The only downside I have with them is the weight, but I might just invest in a pair to play in now

oh man back in the day i had the lows and beat the hell out of that shoe playing outdoors. you are not lying when you said it's built like a tank coz it was.
If an extremely solid shoe, once u get the coating off the outsole bruh they grip. Also good comfort with zoom on forefoot and heel zoom.encased in the pebax plate.
