    I just installed mine and tested it for a couple hours Saturday..I had about the same results, I moved the range out a little farther so I didn’t get to close and loose the fish in the “blind spot”. Will definitely make you be an accurate long range caster! I also had to keep adjusting the depth range, also I turned the gain up from the factory setting. I think with some practice it will great! Was very impressed with the picture quality, the fish were easy to identify! Can’t wait to use it more. Looking forward to the next video!

    if you can, try to make the horizontal axis start at 10’, the range 70’ and the depth 25’. It’ll fill almost all of the screen.

    I'm sure it's a Great little unit for "Younger Eyes", and great casting abilities! I was interested in the Lowrance unit, until finding out how narrow everything is on the "Live Scope" capabilities. Thanks for the review.
    (Guess this Old Bass Fisherman will just have to wait 'til BPS puts their Garmin 10.5 Live Scope units on sale this Xmas!). Lol

    Great review, I think for the cost the picture quality is nice. Constantly adjusting the settings would be annoying but for my use on a jon boat it will be fine.

    Thank you for this accurate and truthful video. I was almost sold until you pointed out the example of the cone limitation at 10:14. Also, although you seem to have some settings on 'auto', you need to continually manually adjust the settings so that you are using at least a diagonal half of the 9" screen. I would also being using the unit for ice fishing in relatively shallow water (10-12'), and the down imaging cone angle looks quite narrow. Looking forward to more of your videos.

    Without the use of a “black box” what would be the recommended battery to use with this unit? Would a lithium battery be needed to run the live sonar for a full day?

    Great video. Very informative. I'm hoping to have mine in this week. I'm a kayak angler and new to the live sonar seen. Due to the transducer size, I can't mount it under my kayak in the factory transducer mount. I will have to mount it to a deployable poll over the side of my kayak. I'm hoping that it being mounted to a movable poll I will be able to compensate for some of the dead space caused by the size of the cone. I guess time will tell.

    Can you angle the transducer down a bit so it’s not shooting the cone so far forward? Maybe help get rid of brush piles in the blind spot?

    I like to see thank you for the video most of the videos I've seen only talk about what the other units do You took this one out and really showed what it can do and what it can't like you say for the average fisherman who only goes on weekends when he has time Don't want to spend $3,000 but $1,000 I think I can swing and not have to not know if I'm around fish when I do go fishing I go to a lot of spots but a lot of times I get no bites and I wonder if I'm using the wrong bait or if it's just not fish there at that time so this will definitely help me just to see that it's fish down there I just can't catch them that's on me but spending all day at different spots and not catching anything is not great especially when you only have certain times you can get out and go so this is like a you're not shooting in the dark item I'm definitely going to pick up got to save them pennies thank you again for the video

    Question…when you were in 15’ of water, why not adjust your display depth to 15’? Wouldn’t that have given you more display? Seems like a lot of wasted display showing way below the bottom.

    Well, you can split the screen and use the live down and forward live at the same time. It eliminates most of that gap in the view. FYI.

    • @Sappwildoutdoors
      @Sappwildoutdoors  2 місяці тому +1

      Interesting. To my knowledge you can split the screen to view live forward and down scan but not down live. You cannot live view both forward and down that I have found. Would love to know how to do that if you do in fact have that capability.

    Looks cool to me the only thing is I think is Lowrance should've made it to were the image fits the screen maybe they'll have a software update date , when buying new technology it's also good to wait until a year or so after it releases so all the bugs and problems can be address in the second generation or maybe 3rd then buy .
