I like that you can flip up the deck like that! It should make cleaning out the mower way easier, which will really extend the life of the steel deck. I know a lot of Honda mowers die because the decks rust out way before the engine dies. Cool product!
I purchased an 80v lithium battery mower 4 years ago for just over $500 and love it. One full battery charge can mow 4,000 sq ft in self-propelled mode which is plenty fast. No pulling a starter rope. No more gas cans. No changing the spark plug. No oil changes. A gas mower has more oopmh for really thick tall grass, but the advantages of battery power outweigh that for the few times you need highest HP. One thing to check is to ensure the mower deck can cut the height you want. For example, southern lawns usually need a higher setting in hottest months compared to northern lawns.

For most the price is just too extreme for what you’re getting. While battery powered electric yard equipment may be the future, along with battery vehicles, we as a society are just trading one environmental wrecker for another. No yearly air filer, oil change, plug. No emissions. Much much much Longer life. What goes unmentioned is how much more effecient an electric motor is compared to gas 2x really easily . You are using less and using it more effectively. Batteries are not without waste and by no means a perfect solution as you very correctly pointed out. I had my Ego one season and I had to damn near give it away. It’s okay if you have about a 3000 square foot yard. Anything bigger then that I wouldn’t bother.
My concern are the batteries. From reading reviews of other battery powered lawn mowers, a lot of people are complaining about the battery. It loses battery life when you over charge them. It’s hard to watch the charging of batteries like a hawk and make sure they are removed from charging as soon as they are charged. Do these batteries have any option to not allow them from being overcharged?
I have a 20v 2amp Worx batteries and a trimmer and blower from 2015. Though the single charger it came with doesn't quite charge them up like the twin, quick charger from our mower or snow blower. We also have the Landroid robot mower. It uses a 20v 4amp and mows for an hour twice daily, for the perfect lawn mowed look everyday.
I have three electric mowers now. The Greenworks push mower is OK. The Ego push mower is better, had moe adjustability. Finally I have a Cub Cadet lawn tractor and it is amazing how much grass I can mow on one charge, and can even do OK with some overgrown pasture. Electric is the future and getting better every year. Thanks for your excellent review videos!
Can you do a comparison on electric tree branch shedders? Battery is 1 thing but how many DIY guys can diagnose a repair on this mower let alone buy replacement batteries?
I recently gave battery charged mowers a good look, as I was in the market for a new mower. I decided I would regret buying one 5 years from now, when the batteries need to be replaced, in the case of your mower, around $400 for the batteries. And then you also would have a 5 year old mower. I bought a gas mower. But interestingly, the stores now have put the gas mowers in the back; the push is on to buy an electric mower. I bought a Murray, as I've had really good luck with them in the past, and they seemingly last forever. This time I bought one with a spigot built into the deck which you can hook a hose up to, run the engine, and clean off the grass without lifting the mower.
Been running Toro 60V 22" Max recycler mower since the start of last year. Never going back to gas. Has similar features that this Worx does while different in other areas, but it does just fine for me. I highly recommend anyone looking to replace a gas mower or just buying their first to seriously consider the battery options out there, whether it's this Worx or something else.
That's interesting that you feel that way. The question is, how will you feel in 5 years when you have a 5 year old mower that needs $200 in new batteries? Will you buy a new $400-600 mower which comes with new batteries and a charger, or will you just buy the $200 worth of batteries for your old mower? Or will you wish you had just bought a gas mower which would have lasted you 10 years?
@@roberttreasure1986 $200 worth of batteries sounds a lot cheaper than all of the gas I spent using it for those 5 years. And the gas I save by using the same batteries for the snow blower, and the trimmer, and the blower. That's a lot of gas all told that has been replaced with cleaner energy. No more exhausted gas into the atmosphere negatively contributing to the environment or my lungs. $40/yr in batteries? Sounds like a huge win-win.
@@rawwwrrr4024 I am willing to bet that the electricity you use to generate your batteries is generated mostly by burning coal, some by wind, nucluear and hydro-electric plants. So for you and most Americans, clean energy is a myth. You are just transferring the pollution to the area where the electric plant is situated.
Funny how the Missus always and automatically goes into 'supervisor' mode. Mine does the exact same thing, even when I didn't ask her! LOL. GREAT JOB, S.C.!
Thank you, I have tried a lot of different robots and a bunch never even made a video they were so bad but the Worx was the best all around unit. The cutting, operation, etc especially for the price. I haven't tried the high end husqvarnas which are suppoed to be good but I don't think you can beat the Worx landroid for around the $1XXX price.
@@SilverCymbal This is exactly what I'm waiting for. I have the TimeMaster (circa 2017). If Toro or Ego make a 30" equivalent to the TimeMaster I'm going all in.
I'd love to see a review of a base model Hart mower. They're much more affordable than expected, and my older 40v one has been a beast. Really great budget mower
Remember when Tyler Tube did this a few years ago? Anyway my one concern is long term use as batteries get more work down than a gas engine, so replacement batteries are a concern.
I have an older Worx that uses two 56v batteries. If I'm not wrong, that's even more power than this one. It's a very, very good mower with pretty much the same features you describe here. Unfortunately, they discontinued that line of batteries to favor the power-share 20v.
I really like this mower design . Hopefully ryobi or Dewalt will incorporate a higher voltage method like this. They both have a good line up of low voltage tools for the lawn and home. I’m also interested to see what elder worx comes out with.
Quick question. Didn't see that there was anything regarding this. Let's say the electronics of one of the batteries fails. Will the unit still run or do you need four batteries to make it operate
I bought the new Milwaukee battery mower and I love it. I'm sure the Worx is good too. I wish these tool companies would switch over to Lithium Ion Phosphate. I wonder what's holding them back?
My cheap crappy kobalt mower packs that bag tighter than the 201cc Honda I grew up with. I'll see how it's going at the end of the season but so far I see no reason to run gas anymore.
Looks like a cool mower. I used to use a Honda 21" and it was great for a rental house that we were in. We just moved up to a larger house and it was taking me 2 hours to mow the lawn so I bought a 42" Scag Liberty Z. WOW! The Scag is well worth the money in my opinion and it makes mowing quick and fun, plus it looks super cool. I was really debating about buying the Ego Z6 zero turn, but It's only been out for about 2 years and that's just too new for me to drop that kind of cash (~$5500). Much easier to go with the tried and true Kawasaki, Briggs or Kohler engines and with the hydrogear ZT2800 drivetrains.
The Honda allows adjusting the amount of bagging vs mulching verses all or nothing. The question is how will it do bagging leaves. I have so many leaves in the fall that it bogs down a gas mower with a 160 cc Briggs.
My Honda (second hand HRX) is a beast like that. Bought it for $200...best mower I have ever owned. Had to mow this past weekend some thick way too tall grass and it was great being able to mulch and bag at the same time. Lawn looks amazing!
If you are taking requests I’d like to see you test out the Ego push mower. I jumped at their excellent line trimmer and blower and am considering replacing my 96 craftsman gas mower soon.
I absolutely love the 56v select cut xp 21inch from EGO. I used it on some tall grass and also mulch leaves from two live oaks. It worked just as well as my toro gas mower did.
send it to me in about 3 weeks. I'm in SWFL. All the major mower companies come here to test their new equipment. When I say Here I mean right exactly where I live. they come out and test them on our counties school's fields. I'll pit that sucker against grass like you've never seen, St Augustine. i use a series 23 28 inch snapper rider with a 12.5 intek right now.
From Leo: I am happy that people can have electric mowers if they want, but they are not yet superior. I bought a new gas mower in 2010 when I bought this house. I use less than 3 gallons a year. That is less than $15 a year even at today's fuel prices. My neighbor is proud of his top grade battery mower, purchased 2 years ago. It needs new batteries every year. They are over $100, and the disposal of old batteries is hazardous waste. Sounds like we are going the wrong way against the environment, and paying extra for it.
The build quality looks terrific. I have a Honda gas mower and its been great, this mower really interests me.Expensive , looks a lot better than some Greenworks 80Volt units. Maybe it will go on sale sometime soon.
Looks great. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to use the battery in other 20V tools, the 4x 20V batteries may need to be balanced in the mower. I like the mower can be charged directly from AC, I may choose it over Greenworks because of it.
That's my question. I've already bought into the Worx ecosystem with my trimmer, I wonder if the batteries are interchangeable. According to the amazon listing they're "compatible," but yeah, what happens if one has less charge than the other?
Actually it won't because the batteries only last about 5 years and range in price from about $600 for (4) six amp hour batteries or $200 for the 2AH batteries. You'll probably burn more gas taking the old batteries to properly be disposed of than a gas mower would burn in several years.
@@allaboutroofing2 That is if you are lucky and all four batteries last five years. Plus the initial cost of the mower. Also not considering the cost of electricity. This guy is in Mass, coming in about 24 cents a KW. Not cheap. Then there is the cost of beer you have to drink waiting for it to charge if you have a bigger lawn or forgot to charge it. No thanks. Way more expensive.
@@allaboutroofing2 I had to look. Those batteries are $135 each. Rough math works out to be 26 gallons of gas a year to replace the 4 batteries after 5 years. Nobody runs more than 5 gallons of gas for a yard that size per year.
@@MrThisIsMeToo Wow I figured it would be more for the batteries, didn't realize it would be that bad! I have a yard similar and I use roughly 4-6 gallons a year, so max $25. Even throwing in a new filter, spark plug and gas additives is less than the batteries. Not to mention upfront cost or whether or not the batteries will be available in 5 years.
@@jettrooper101 There is maintenance on the gas mower that I did not include. I would assume that the electric would be maintenance free. You do bring up a good point that I forgot about. I bought an electric snowblower 5.5 years back. Used it for clearing a large deck. Battery died this year. Guess what, cannot source a replacement battery. Can still source gas. :)
Had the 40v Worx push mower. Used it around house and worked well and was quite light. Sold it and got the 60v 22in Toro. I’d say better cut, easier on user and more powerful. Got a zero turn for the rest of the lawn, but these battery units are getting better and better.
That's €300 worth of Worx batteries in Ireland. €75 Euro for a 20v 2ah battery. It's daylight robbery. Great tools though especially the brushless "Nitro" range.
A few questions: How much does this mower cost? How long is the cutting time, in general? How long do you think the batteries will last if the mower is used every week during the cutting seasons? (Years) And how much do new batteries cost? Good demo vid. But my purchasing an electric mower is based on cost, both in the short term and the long run. Thanks.👍
$699 for the mower with 4 2ah batteries. Lithium Batteries last about 5 years with normal use. The 6ah batteries shown here are $150 each, but the ones that come with it (2ah) are $50 each to replace. The mower in the video essentially cost $1400 with tax when you consider the battery upgrade to 4- 6ah batteries.
If you want cost efficient, buy a mid '80s toro for a few hundred. It will last 30 years with nearly zero expense except for about a half gallon of gas per hour run time.
@@allaboutroofing2 Thanks much. That's ALOT of money!! I think I'll keep my gas mower til it dies. But then, I maintain my own equipment very well and they last a long time. I could buy ALOT of gas and oil for $1,400 dollars, even at current prices. Cheers!!

Interesting video, thank you. You didn't mention if the mower control handle is adjustable on its own, but from this video the mower controls appear to rise higher with cutting height.
Thank you, no the handle control portion is fixed but the entire assembly can be in three spots. The good part is that since the handle is rounded as are the controls they still worked pretty well in all of the positions.
Good info. Would have been good to know the Ah of the 20 volts batteries and the motor power if available. The fact that it is 80 volts along doesnt mean is more powerful or long lasting as a 40 volts for example.
So you use the side discharge when mulching? Also, an awesome improvement would be to take that whole battery module & plug it in the wall for charging. We keep our batteries for our mower, etc indoors because we are in hot and humid Houston. We love our Ego battery operated mower but it doesn’t get up as many leaves as we would like, as usual, I always love your reviews!
had one of these for a short while very heavy probably nearly twice as heavy as a petrol mower - cuts very well - well built - very expensive - noisy - to me just a mower to show off
As with everything electric its about the cost but besides this I like the design , storing it brilliant , no oil change , gas fume , filters to change and spark plugs ! But my favorite thing it has a handle on the front deck my God why has it taken so long for that idea 🤷
Would like to see how it handles wet foot high grass , your front yard is almost like a bowling green :) it looks like a good unit though mate . I bought another electric mower brand a couple of years ago , as my old beat up petrol mower was poorly maintained and was having fuel system problems ( thats on me ) , initially i was not impressed with the electric mowers power in the rough stuff , where a petrol mower would just churn through almost anything , and even when bottomed out , the petrol mower would just scarify the land :) . But the electric unit i bought , its lighter weight and ease of handling , and no more having to fill it up with petrol/unleaded won me over , and when it runs flat i just put a spare battery in it and im good to go , and not too mention its quietness , in times when you wouldnt run your normal petrol mower due to annoying the neighbors , , the electric mower is very quiet . . And as for the less power on my unit , i found by just changing my mowing method , just taking a bit less of a cut in the heavy stuff and running over it a tad higher , even if i had to go over a second time as you may have to do anyway if your grass has gotten a bit out of hand . The last thing that really won me over to electric was not having to rip your shoulder out pull starting it as you would on the basic petrol mowers.
With my 40v Ryobi edger, I can’t even edge my driveway and sidewalk with just one battery. I would bet a mower would need at least 5 or 6 charges to do the front yard. One acre lot with less than half in grass.

Changing the height on this lawnmower is genius, all lawnmowers should have this.
I agree, a lot of european ones do. I have no idea why they aren't all like this either. I love this setup
Can you do a comparison on electric tree branch shedders? Battery is 1 thing but how many DIY guys can diagnose a repair on this mower let alone buy replacement batteries?
Front or rear wheel drive? Front allows you to tilt up when turning or coming to a dead end.
"What the heck are you doing out there, Ralph?!" "Just mowing the water, honey!"
@@benvoliothefirst haha...that's funny(:
This is the way forward for our planet. Great video!
I know mny place! Great to see you again too
Bought an electric mower 2 years ago. It lasted for 2.5 cuts before the motor burn up . Last one ill ever purchase
Cool mower dude!
How did the worx robotic mower hold up? i want to get a robot mower for the backyard and debating which to get
Thank you, I have tried a lot of different robots and a bunch never even made a video they were so bad but the Worx was the best all around unit. The cutting, operation, etc especially for the price. I haven't tried the high end husqvarnas which are suppoed to be good but I don't think you can beat the Worx landroid for around the $1XXX price.
I have a 30” toro timemaster. Can’t wait to find an electronic equivalent in the 30” push mower category.
That is a really amazing mower, I reviewed that on last year. If they ever do an electric one that would be absolutely unreal!
Green works has a 28 inch
@@SilverCymbal This is exactly what I'm waiting for. I have the TimeMaster (circa 2017). If Toro or Ego make a 30" equivalent to the TimeMaster I'm going all in.
@@beeslandscaping A quick internet search didn’t yield any results. Got a link to the 28”?
@@jmagnum15 it coming very soon I was at the landscaping show call up greenworks
The 2021 toro recycler has the mulch or bag lever too
Thats good to hear, maybe the Honda patent ran out. Its insane the Milwaukees new $1000 mower still uses (and loses) a mulching plug.
I'd love to see a review of a base model Hart mower. They're much more affordable than expected, and my older 40v one has been a beast. Really great budget mower
Cost will depend greatly whether the mower is self-propelled or not.
Dang, worx is really coming thru these days... great review bud!
Pretty impressive actually! Well thought out too.
Looks sweeeet! The reality is most folks can't afford a $700 mower
Please do a part 2 to address how it works later in the year!
Hey 👋 DM I have a few packages for you 🎁
I bought the new Milwaukee battery mower and I love it. I'm sure the Worx is good too. I wish these tool companies would switch over to Lithium Ion Phosphate. I wonder what's holding them back?
The suction for bagging has been my main complaint with my Ego mower. Gas is still King, for now.
My cheap crappy kobalt mower packs that bag tighter than the 201cc Honda I grew up with. I'll see how it's going at the end of the season but so far I see no reason to run gas anymore.
My 80v Kobalt sucks up everything. I vacuum leaves and all with it. /shrug
You never said how your ceramic coated lawn mower held up through the season... waiting on an update.
I've got a 5 year old ryobi 40 volt..these things are awesome!
Sold! Thanks for the review.
Very smart design best I seen so far.
It's good to have 4 batteries because I always mow grass in the dark! I'm glad batteries are cheap!
How durable are the batteries if treated correctly? How much are replacement batteries?
send it to me in about 3 weeks.
After a ton of thought and research, I went with an EGO. Good video. 👍🏻✌🏻
I want a direct comparison with this year’s EGO select cut XP since I’m torn with buying this or EGO
I need to look at the ego mower again soon.
@@SilverCymbal Thank you for the response!
@@robertthompson3447 Hmm beside the extra blade the ego has doesn't this seem to be more powerful?
Toro has the bag to mulch lever on some of their models also
I haven't seen that. I like the Toro mowers and cut a lot but they need to lose the mulch plugs
@@SilverCymbal Blue lever near rear left wheel on many "Recycler" models- gas and electric- see website and/or reviews
Hey I saw Fantik came out with a new tire inflator? Are you gonna do a review on it?
I would love to see this mow my thick lawn . Had a 500 electric snapper lawnmower I bought last week. 4 mows and it was done for .
I have less than an acre, so a battery powered mower serves me well.
The build quality looks terrific. I have a Honda gas mower and its been great, this mower really interests me.Expensive , looks a lot better than some Greenworks 80Volt units. Maybe it will go on sale sometime soon.
I'd like to see a comparison between this mower & the DeWalt 40V electric mower.
Any thoughts on riding electric mowers? I've got over 1/2 an acre of grass, but I am also an electric tool enthusiast.
Hey I think MAKITA has similar system which is 56 volt. Nice video
Maybe I just missed it but how long will this mower run on a single charge?
I’m curious will this mower stall in high wet grass and what is the torque
What type of cord needed to charge? Will an outdoor heavy duty extension cord work?
Looks great. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to use the battery in other 20V tools, the 4x 20V batteries may need to be balanced in the mower. I like the mower can be charged directly from AC, I may choose it over Greenworks because of it.
That's my question. I've already bought into the Worx ecosystem with my trimmer, I wonder if the batteries are interchangeable. According to the amazon listing they're "compatible," but yeah, what happens if one has less charge than the other?
How about a review on the TORO 60V max super recycler ❓
"Wasn't long before she was the BOSS!" LMAO! Right!!!
Where’s the video on the new solar lights?? Can’t wait
It will be posted by tomorrow sorry, taking a little longer than expected. I think you will like it
I like it given how the price of gas is going up that Lawnmower will save you a Ton of money.
Yeah it's a beast alright....a $800 dollar lawn mower beast.
Excited to see the solar lightening video.
It will be my next video, should be posted tomorrow. Thank you

Hey 👋 DM I have a few packages for you 🎁
Had the 40v Worx push mower. Used it around house and worked well and was quite light. Sold it and got the 60v 22in Toro. I’d say better cut, easier on user and more powerful. Got a zero turn for the rest of the lawn, but these battery units are getting better and better.
Nice mower just bought the new rigg
Congrats, its a very nice machine
Any hope for a 22 inch deck?
That's €300 worth of Worx batteries in Ireland. €75 Euro for a 20v 2ah battery. It's daylight robbery. Great tools though especially the brushless "Nitro" range.
I have the $200 Ryobi 40 volt. cut over half an acre of thick wet grass on the 4 amp hour battery. I'll never go back to a gas mower.
Cheers!!
@@justincase2281 if California is any indication, at some point we won't have a choice. CA has until jan 2024 until gas powered lawn equity is banned, even for commercial operations. Meanwhile I still use a 2 stroke...LOL noting like the smell of 2 cycle in the morning. 😁👍
@@allaboutroofing2 I just clicked on the link and for $699 the listing states it comes with four 5 amp hour batteries. Not sure where you got the 2 amp hour number from?

Alright, now that you did the whole sales thing, what's the cost? I like that you said how big the mower was.

How heavy is it compred to gas mower? Thanks!
Better then Ego?
Do a review on Milwaukee versus Ryobi weedeaters and blowers
Interesting video, thank you. You didn't mention if the mower control handle is adjustable on its own, but from this video the mower controls appear to rise higher with cutting height.
Thank you, no the handle control portion is fixed but the entire assembly can be in three spots. The good part is that since the handle is rounded as are the controls they still worked pretty well in all of the positions.
@@SilverCymbal Thanks again for the reply.
Do the batteries for the 80 volt nitro work on all worx tools?Thankyou!
Please review Ego products. I would love to hear your take
Can you do electric mowers testing different brands against each otber
Good info. Would have been good to know the Ah of the 20 volts batteries and the motor power if available. The fact that it is 80 volts along doesnt mean is more powerful or long lasting as a 40 volts for example.
Hey 👋 DM I have a few packages for you 🎁
So you use the side discharge when mulching? Also, an awesome improvement would be to take that whole battery module & plug it in the wall for charging. We keep our batteries for our mower, etc indoors because we are in hot and humid Houston. We love our Ego battery operated mower but it doesn’t get up as many leaves as we would like, as usual, I always love your reviews!
My concern, what is the cost for a battery replacement?
How many gallons of gas vs the cost of replacing the batteries?
Lowest / highest cut heights?
Cut height: 1 to 4 in. - I just added extra specs in the description as well. Great question!
had one of these for a short while very heavy probably nearly twice as heavy as a petrol mower - cuts very well - well built - very expensive - noisy - to me just a mower to show off
As with everything electric its about the cost but besides this I like the design , storing it brilliant , no oil change , gas fume , filters to change and spark plugs ! But my favorite thing it has a handle on the front deck my God why has it taken so long for that idea 🤷
How long will it run on a charge? It takes me 2 hrs to push mow my yard.
I Don't recall you saying anything about if it is equivalent to a gas mower❓would you say in the long run its just as powerful as a gas mower or not ❓
What do I need to do ❓
Would like to see how it handles wet foot high grass , your front yard is almost like a bowling green :) it looks like a good unit though mate .
The last thing that really won me over to electric was not having to rip your shoulder out pull starting it as you would on the basic petrol mowers.
i feel like this would be better/more realistic if the grass was higher. there werent many grass clippings in that bag after u were done
With my 40v Ryobi edger, I can’t even edge my driveway and sidewalk with just one battery. I would bet a mower would need at least 5 or 6 charges to do the front yard. One acre lot with less than half in grass.
