Awesome video and Steve looked dead on that flight out of Stanstead but one thing I will always respect about him is no matter how tired he is he is always polite to the staff.
Absolutely epic my friend. I really hope you give your body a chance to recover or it will make you pay. Please rest as we need your content. Love From Australia.
Have been pretty stressed out by the antics of the USA neighbors to the south....then find Steve's video and suddenly the world makes sense again...hope you appreciate how much your beautiful videos matter🥰🥰
As someone who didn't have to go through any of the tough parts, but got to see all the amazing stuff vicariously through your brilliant vlogging, I have to say this trip was extremely worthwhile 🤣. Many thanks for taking us with you! 💯
Brilliant. I have often wondered what it would be like to go from Denmark to Iceland on the ferry and then get back home to the UK in the same way that you have done. I seem to remember that many years ago the Denmark to Iceland ferry actually called at Lerwick on some "circuits" but perhaps that is just my imagination. I went to Iceland in 1986 on a week's holiday advertised as "A week in the countryside" through a long defunct outfit called "Twickenham Travel". Virtually the last flight out of Heathrow, arriving Keflavik early in the morning then a coach through the darkness to a modern basic hotel in the middle of nowhere so it seemed. I wondered what I had done until I drew the curtain back in the morning and saw the volcano, Hekla, gently steaming. We were taken out every day to swim in warm rivers, see glaciers and geysers and sit in fields at night to see the Northern Lights. I was 26 at the time and usually went for citybreak holidays but the Icelandic trip has never been surpassed. Perhaps it is an acquired taste? I don't know but the raw beauty is astonishing.
I believe the road from Seydisfjordur to Egilsstadir is paved now so much less bumpy than when I worked in the region in the 1990s when it was basically a dirt track covered by ice a lot of the time. I remember arriving at Egilsstadir airport one evening to find that the road to Seydisfjordur was closed, blocked by snow. The bus took us up the road until it got stuck in the snow. Then we waited for a snowcat vehicle driven by the local mountain rescue team to arrive which took us over the summit through the snow drifts and down to the village. Quite an adventure!
Happiness is sitting down with a coffee on a day off and seeing a wee midweek bonus video popping up from Steve. Especially when it’s of Iceland! 🇮🇸 my last visit was pre pandemic with my family and we stayed in an apartment near the Hallgrimskirkja. Watching you trying to keep awake at Keflavik reminded me of the time I had a layover there on the way back from Edmonton and dozed off in the departure lounge. I was so embarrassed when my name was called out on the tannoy and I nearly missed my flight back to Manchester.
What I love about your video's is that they accurately reflect just how much waiting is involved in travelling :-) Great to see some places I've visited before from your prespective.
Thank you so much for showing every aspect of this epic journey. You have convinced me that me deciding not to do it is the best decision. Your absolute tenacity to just keep on going, is amazing and I just love watching your videos.
Hats off to you Steve and may be I would have in my younger years but I couldn't have waited round in that airport in the cold and small hours for all that time. That and your tight connection from Stansted to Edinburgh looked brutal. 👏👏
It always amazes me seeing passengers queuing up to board an aircraft at the front stairs, and then having to fight their way up to the back . The herd instinct at work.
I passed through Keflavik last year on the the way to and back from Canada. It really is a lovely airport. But security are not keen on filming. I believe that there are also showers.
Not only were you rattlin' aboot like a bibble in a bottle at the airport, you must have been rattlin' aboot in yer own heid, Steve. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures, especially for those of us who aint as mobile as we used to be. A' the best.
Love your Videos Steve!! We take also much ferries in northern Europe. We lived same time near Hirtshals, as u were there this September !! Had the same good weather. Btw.: Steve, try the Finnlines day ferry to Malmö or the ferries of Finnlines to Helsinki !! Both amazing. Take the new ones !! And take the sauna with a view (to Malmö) ... Greetings from Föhr, Stephan (and Kieron, my son)
Thanks a lot Steve for this wonderful example of a life as a traveller. I have so many memories of such trips, that come back to life when I watch your videos. Cheers fellow traveller and don't stop doing it.
Many years ago I came back with a bus from the Northcape, and the ferry we had expected to be able to reach, when taking this bus, left the harbour when we came. It wasn't much fun till the next ferry arrived! Today the Norwegians have made a tunnel below the water to this top-island in Europe. Finn. Denmark
Exellent trip! When I was travelling it always came down to comfort v danger for me as a lone woman travelling at night. But Iceland is crazy expensive! Helsinki airport has rocking chairs.
I really enjoyed this Iceland series! You did a great job and the videos were all fun to watch. I couldn't believe you were staying up all night for your early morning flight instead of getting a hotel room, but when you showed us quotes for one night at an airport hotel, I quickly understood your decision. On a side note, as a New Yorker, I couldn't believe there was a Sbarro pizzeria at the Iceland bus terminal. As the comment section is meant to be nice, I'll edit out my thoughts on that. I hope you have recovered from the last leg of this journey and I am looking forward to the next video, the last from this Iceland trip.
Wow! I'm exhausted after that!! Thank you Steve, another great video. Three videos 1) Man catches ferry 2) Man catches bus 3) Man catches plane. How do you make them so enjoyable??
I’m getting awful flashbacks watching this. I made this mistake in Belgium. I ALMOST done it for Reykjavik but decided against it I decided to get the 11pm bus to airport for my 7.30am flight. Thinking I could go through security. Well noooo I was stuck the the most uncomfy loud airport ever. Until 4am when they decided to let people through the terminals. During my wait I paid the £35 so once I was through I could jump into the lounge, nap and get loads of free food. Tempted for a wee pint but I was far too sleep deprived.
Also a good photographer! The pictures you shot from the northern lights are really well done (good compositions) and it's impressing, what you can do with just a phone (and this possibly completely tired...). Looking forwards to your vids of the several landscapes you visited! 😊
From his videos it is clear that Steve is not much of a reader 😊 For a reader a 4-hour wait any an airport is just an opportunity to read in peace. The lit-up church was stunning !
I do enjoy a good book, the problem is the videos don't show the work that goes in 'behind the scenes'. Most UA-camrs will tell you they are always thinking about shots and what to say, as well as being alert for not missing any filming opportunities
Blimey, Steve - we really wouldn't mind if you treated yourself to a nice comfy bed with an extra pillow once in a while! Really enjoyed the video, but grateful you didn't film when you took your socks off 😄
That was a great video Steve, what a way to end an epic journey. You really do test yourself on some of your adventures, hope you had a good rest and I can't wait for the next exciting instalment at the weekend. 👍.
aw man, i lived in Egilsstaðir for years. traveled that roads hundreds of times, living in Reykjavík now. seen previous houses of mine in both Egs and Rvk in your video :D pity never knew you were heading this way, would have met you, cant have a fellow scotsman wandering the streets with nothing to do but eat crappy pizza. could have given you real food! bad news bud, you can get easyjet flights to Edinburgh from Keflavík from 20 quid ;)
Fantastic video again mate, great to watch though i sometimes wonder why you put yourself through the mill !! You must have been completely knackered!! Good luck and thankyou for some real entertaining and informative work.😊
Loved this. Really enjoyable. My favourite band is Arstidir from Iceland. I don't think I'll ever get to Iceland as I can't travel far so seeing this was just great. Thank you Steve.
During my cruise around Iceland I called into Seyðisfjörður and I remember that beautiful church and standing on that bridge looking down at that stream, what lovely memories!
I remember flying into Paris (CDG) and having an 10 hour overnight connection. I thought about sleeping in the terminal, but I played it safe and booked an airport hotel. Good thing I did, because the police where kicking out anybody trying to stay after midnight.
Brilliant vlog Steve, absolutely loved it! Got to see both Icelandair & Play in one vlog which was really nice! Thanks for showing us the regional airport in Iceland, that was really cool! Oh and that easyJet A320 you flew is the same one I just filmed a flight on myself on a different route! You deserve a nice cold pint of Tenants Lager for this video! - Tyler
So good to sit & watch your video. Always worry that you won't be able to buy food 😂I think that bumpy bus needs putting out to grass. Look forward to your next video. Take care. 😊
I don’t think I could handle these late nights waiting for your plane!! The northern lights are wonderful though! Glad you made your connecting flight!
Hands up who loves steve 🙌🙌
His posts are an absolute pleasure
Well done
I've not met the man so I'm not declaring love for him. 😂😂😂 I do love his videos though so ✋✋✋✋✋✋✋✋✋ from me. ❤❤
🙌
I do not know him personally, so love is a bit strong, but like yes very much, though I do love his videos👍
Awesome video and Steve looked dead on that flight out of Stanstead but one thing I will always respect about him is no matter how tired he is he is always polite to the staff.

I am enjoying your spontaneous humour to situations. You are one of my favourite vloggers now. Cheers.
You take us on your UA-cam travels to great places Steve
As someone who didn't have to go through any of the tough parts, but got to see all the amazing stuff vicariously through your brilliant vlogging, I have to say this trip was extremely worthwhile 🤣. Many thanks for taking us with you! 💯
“Oh look there’s a human”! 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't know how he does it. Must have been totally knackered after that trip. But amazing videos. Thanks Steve.

Great that you walk everywhere! Amd, the northern lights were gorgeous!! What a treat!

Haha a rude awakening indeed! :D
What I love about your video's is that they accurately reflect just how much waiting is involved in travelling :-) Great to see some places I've visited before from your prespective.
Always a joy traveling whit you Steve. Big Thanks!
This is you at your best. This has been an epic trip. Well done, Steve. Onwards to the next adventure 👍
Steve I’m so glad i discovered your channel, it’s like a warm hug 🫶🏻
Thank you so much for showing every aspect of this epic journey. You have convinced me that me deciding not to do it is the best decision. Your absolute tenacity to just keep on going, is amazing and I just love watching your videos.
Im working my way through all your videos, and loving every one of them. Love your lady to bits, definitely makes your videos more interesting. ❤
So true, she's a star :)
Very quiet place the airport
Hats off to you Steve and may be I would have in my younger years but I couldn't have waited round in that airport in the cold and small hours for all that time. That and your tight connection from Stansted to Edinburgh looked brutal. 👏👏
Love watching your videos, the places and views are amazing 😊 sending greetings from New Zealand 🇳🇿
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 A Steve video - best accompaniment to my morning coffee.
Excellent mini series
Takes a lot of planning and some bravery that
It always amazes me seeing passengers queuing up to board an aircraft at the front stairs, and then having to fight their way up to the back . The herd instinct at work.
It can certainly be annoying on board!
Our intrepid explorer does it again! Essential viewing. Loving your work Steve 😊
i agree. but why? ...............persona;ity. a mystery?............
Mornin Steve can’t believe your almost home you look like you could sleep for a week but you did show us a great light show 💤 😘🌸🌿🍕🍕
I love the shots of 'Steve Marsh Waiting...and Waiting...' 😄
I passed through Keflavik last year on the the way to and back from Canada. It really is a lovely airport. But security are not keen on filming. I believe that there are also showers.
Yey ! another video from Steve...brilliant..love them, Thank you 🤩
Thanks for this distraction, Steve. I needed this today. Great vid as always.
Thanks Steve. Can’t wait to find out what you got up to during your day in Reykjavik.
What an adventure!! And you always keep your chin up.
Take up knitting great time passer 😊
Many gloves, scarves and bobble hats later Steve finally boards his plane 🧤🧣
Not only were you rattlin' aboot like a bibble in a bottle at the airport, you must have been rattlin' aboot in yer own heid, Steve.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures, especially for those of us who aint as mobile as we used to be.

Easier hopefully
A mid week surprise. Thanks Steve. All the best from Australia.
Cheers Richard!

And we have pictures, as the Norröna left that day u were on... We were on beach
Thanks a lot Steve for this wonderful example of a life as a traveller. I have so many memories of such trips, that come back to life when I watch your videos. Cheers fellow traveller and don't stop doing it.
Just what we need today a Mr. Marsh vlog.
Glad to see you traveling my home country! :)
Another great adventure, and you keep it interesting great stuff .😊

those Icelandic airports are my kind of airports
That’s a great mid week bonus video
Your red eyes on the plane were just like mine after half a dozen spliffs 😳
I hope you had that nap Steve! No-one wants to share the road with someone who’s been awake for 32 hours!
Indeed I did
@ good lad. This is one of those videos that helps me get my envy of your lifestyle into perspective! 😁
Love your videos Steve!
"There's a human." Love it. 😊
Nashville airport also has rocking chairs, plus rugs. And (not unexpectedly) decent music.
Oh I NEED to get there!
Have you thought about visiting the isle of Wight
Wow! I'm exhausted after that!! Thank you Steve, another great video. Three videos 1) Man catches ferry 2) Man catches bus 3) Man catches plane. How do you make them so enjoyable??
Have not been well for the last couple of days and right on time your video arrived and cheered me up no end, many thanks and cheers from Oz.
Brilliant Steve, fantastic series of videos, I'm going to follow in your footsteps
I’m getting awful flashbacks watching this. I made this mistake in Belgium. I ALMOST done it for Reykjavik but decided against it
I decided to get the 11pm bus to airport for my 7.30am flight. Thinking I could go through security. Well noooo I was stuck the the most uncomfy loud airport ever. Until 4am when they decided to let people through the terminals.

Thumb up for Steve
A mid week video. Fabulous and perfect for my work lunch hour.
You put in a good shift there. Well played.
That was some trip Steve, ferry and all, but that commute home was a killer. Glad you got back in one piece!
Looking forward to seeing your walk around Reykjavik in your next video. It’s 11 years since I was last there, celebrating New Year.
Also a good photographer! The pictures you shot from the northern lights are really well done (good compositions) and it's impressing, what you can do with just a phone (and this possibly completely tired...). Looking forwards to your vids of the several landscapes you visited! 😊
Wow that was some journey and a half!
Amazing side of Iceland that most of us will never see.
I’d say you can’t wait to sleep in your own bed!
I’m exhausted watching you Steve. 😂
Yay! You found the bus stop!
Eventually! :D
4 hours wait, though, you _could_ have walked it. 😀
Well done steve rather you than me but what a great adventure keep it up both of you. Your videos make my week 👏👏👏❤🤓👍
Where is every one , lots of vehicles, is it the twilight hours. Very eerie, thank goodness you left the airport. 😊
Just started watching your content, absolutely loving it! 👍🏻👍🏻
That tiny airport in eastern Iceland with a four plus hours' wait defnitely needs a good book or crossword puzzle book in your backpack Steve.
✋️ ✋️ ✋️ ✋️ ✋️ we love Steve and his fiancé
Great video again Steve. Absolutely love your videos in Iceland .
Great video again Steve, having spent hours/days in airports around the world myself, my heart goes out to you!
Steve, I feel your pain.
A real marathon Steve never witnessed an airport with no people
Looking forward to your next adventure ❤
From his videos it is clear that Steve is not much of a reader 😊 For a reader a 4-hour wait any an airport is just an opportunity to read in peace.
The lit-up church was stunning !

@@steve-marshMan - that was a journey-and-a-half. I think even I would have been too tired to read towards the end of it. 😊
Steve.. the intrepid traveller!!
I only had a little internet but I chose to use it watching you
I think I was most stressed when you said you were driving home! 😂
Haha don't worry, a good nap helped :)
Well done
Blimey, Steve - we really wouldn't mind if you treated yourself to a nice comfy bed with an extra pillow once in a while! Really enjoyed the video, but grateful you didn't film when you took your socks off 😄
Buffalo USA airport had rocking chairs like what you would expect to see on a verandah or front porch.
That was a great video Steve, what a way to end an epic journey. You really do test yourself on some of your adventures, hope you had a good rest and I can't wait for the next exciting instalment at the weekend. 👍.

That must've been some cruise, wow!
I remember flying into Paris (CDG) and having an 10 hour overnight connection. I thought about sleeping in the terminal, but I played it safe and booked an airport hotel. Good thing I did, because the police where kicking out anybody trying to stay after midnight.
Great stamina and patience 👏😵💫
Well done Steve.Something i would never attempt thanks to your video.
Thanks Joe :)

Wow, the effort gone to for this trip, amazing! Bet you had the best sleep ever when you got home!
It's always bumpier at the back of the bus, every traveller knows that
Wow, I had that exact same room when I stayed there in March
Great video! Perfect way to start my day off! Thank you, Steve!
So good to sit & watch your video. Always worry that you won't be able to buy food 😂I think that bumpy bus needs putting out to grass. Look forward to your next video. Take care. 😊
i would be tempted to take the camper across that ferry seems like it would be cool
Thanks
That was a slog congrats on the video. Tough one
Those photos from 25:00 are fantastic, would be great to see that nightly
I don’t think I could handle these late nights waiting for your plane!! The northern lights are wonderful though!
Glad you made your connecting flight!
