    Thank you for posting this. Mixed feelings about it. The performances and staging all seem great - but they have obviously chosen to cut the number, From Morn to Afternoon which should be right in the middle of that. Probably time constraints for TV and they decided it doesn't really advance anything - but it's just such a good dang song!

    As a G&S snob, I am very particular about the performances of these operettas, and especially of "Yeoman of the Guard". This excerpt is extraordinary. The chorus is every bit the equal of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. This Elsie doesn't have the upper range of Muriel Harding, but each of the other leads are better than the D'Oyly Carte group, and this Fairfax is much more believable in the role. Well done.       As a G&S snob you should know that Yeomen is in the plural, but let's put that down to autocorrect. The singers here are very good but I don't think the choral singing here is a patch on the D'Oyly Carte recording of 1964, which remains the gold standard generally.
