I used 3 years golf mkv 1.6 102 6speed tiptronic. Not a performance engine. But gear ratios were amazing. Engine never felt bad because of the transmission. I still miss it.
Ganz wichtig: Den Hebel links vom Lenkrad niemals berühren, bevor man ausschert! Denn der steht unter Hochspannung, könnte zum Verreißen des Lenkrads führen.
Nur, wenn man selbst unter Strom steht!

The manual of this engine absolutely screams at top speed. It badly needs a 6th gear. This gearbox suits this engine for low revs. Great video man... as per usual 👍
This gearbox is a classic "tiptronic" made by aisin and the code is 09G, and have 6 speed, at 100km/h you have 2400 rpm

@@fabiandeichmuller1162 yes, the 5 speed manual has such a short ratio, i have driven 60hp cars that have a taller top gear. kinda weird. its works nicely for city driving cause you always have a fitting gear for every situation and can even lazily stay in fifth when traffic slows to 45kph without needing to shift down. but even at 80-90kph the car is unnecessary loud and thirsty with this. its like its geared for 6 speeds and they just threw out the top one without adjusting the ratio.
I have the same engine, but changed the 5th gear ratio. Now I have 2700 rpm at 100 km/h. The engine runs much quieter!
How did you change the gear ratio?

I miss those deep blue and red tacho colors as well as the red lighting of the dashboard switches. Today everything is white with red needles which brings no ambiance at all in the car... Also the blue Toyota and other asian brands use, is ugly (cheap) blue
In Greece , this car came only with the FSI engine 115 PS and 6 manual gears.

I think it’s is one of the better choice if you want a mk5 much simpler than the problematic FSI,TSI engines
@@Johnnygoldenbeats nah, i have one and have seen multiple ones with this engine, they all run lean and have issues, they are barebly better than the fsi in reliability but the fsi is so much better to drive, now id always go for fsi over this engine

better believe this engine is one of the worst out there, they break for no reason and are slow, my father has one with engine code and fixed about the whole engine still not fixed.

@@jurgenvandonselaar6818 It's not i have a Golf MK5 1,6 FSI and i have never had any problems with that engine. Its a very fun car to drive with the 1,6 FSI engine and manual transmission.
I have the same engine in my Vento, also known as Polo Sedan. It really is this slow and it screams 😂

DSG = Direct shift gear, dual clutch.
I own an Golf MK5 1.9 tdi with DSG DQ 6 gearbox, the best auto gearbox.

You can. I own the manual version of this car and at 140-150 km/h the 1.6 litre engine is screaming. The auto gearbox is 1000 rpm's lower thanks to a 6th gear
manual with this engine is to loud and not very comfortable
