  • A Swedish vs German Language challenge between me, a Swedish guy who tries to speak German, and Get Germanized from Germany trying to speak Swedish in a language challenge. Filmed in Berlin during Follow Languages Day 2019.
    Get Germanized: / @getgermanized
    ‪@GetGermanized‬
    My language challenge videos are based on the idea that I and a person from another country try to repeat each other's languages. This series can either be with friends from other countries or me finding tourists around Stockholm, or when I travel to other countries.

      It is, but it is a compound word, put together from some single words.
      PERSONEN = person | BEFÖRDERUNGS = transport | WAGEN = WAGON.
      It's just a fancy word for car, or like a normal German would say Auto.
      All long German words are simply compound words.
      This what they always not tell you, when they say German have so extremely long words, in realty you only have to learn some short words, and you can put them together for new words and meanings.
      A nice example would be Handschuhe what means gloves.
      That's two words, one is Hand, what means hand and the one is Schuhe what is shoes. Because gloves like shoes for the hand.
      For an English-speaking person When it comes to only learn the German words and their meaning its relative simple, because the most of them you already know in some way, because of the same roots, the grammar it's another story.

    The guy fro Get Germanized, whatever his name is, did actually pretty good! Furthermore, this challenge was not very fair as most Swedes learn some German at school and almost all Swedes have watched German movies/ tv shows with Swedish subtitles since movies don't get dubbed in Sweden. So for me the German guy is the winner in this case. He has a very nice accent, even in German.

    • @SMB_Channel
      @SMB_Channel 2 роки тому

      Really? I thought in sweden you only watch english movies as foreign language with subtitles. ;D
      In the german TV everything is just.. german.
      Every foreign movie is synchronised with German voice actors, or at least it will be repeated with a German speaker. (In English News, documentarys.. )
      Respect :P

      If you learn German and already know English then Swedish shouldn't be hard to learn, if you'd want to do that some time in the future. If you know two of the three then you basically understand 30-50% of the third language pretty much from the start.
