    Damnit amber - such a great skater but bailed on so many jumps, should have been on the podium with a clean skate esp with that triple axel. All her jump takeoffs looked so rushed here

      @StewNWT - Not so sure she would have made podium, the judges don’t care for her poor artistic skills, I don’t think the international judges are fans, 10th place was pretty bad.

    Man, such harsh comments. This program has a lot of good stuff! She missed two jumps but didn’t fall or interrupt the flow of the program. It was surely disappointing for her but it wasn’t a catastrophe. She landed the triple axel which is so impressive. I think it’s time for a new coaching approach to get to the next level. I wonder if she does double run throughs of full programs in practice. Even if she maintains her coach I think she could use the perspective of someone else. This program feels a little slow today but it is a beautiful program and Amber does have her own artistry and is a powerful, beautiful skater, different than Isabeau. I prefer her jumps to Isabeau’s. She should go chat with Alyssa Czsiny. She overcame inconsistency too. I love Amber and all that she stands for! I look forward to her programs and progress next season! She’s not peaked yet.

      every time she lands her triple axel her entire program falls apart. she has the skills and talent to win but she’s inconsistent which doesn’t slide in the isu her competitor is younger and more room for growth than amber realistically isabeau is gonna secure the womens spot in the olympic team and amber is gonna retire just the way things go

    Pretty and beautiful. Missed 2 jumps no falls though. Both Kaori and Isabeau skated balletic, beautifully and no errors. They stuck it for Gold and Silver.

      Look, it is a sport and athletes can be criticised lol. In every sports, football, basketball, tennis, car racing etc athletes are criticised, it is only figure skating that some fans like you think it is some sort of art and skaters can't be criticised at all.@@Laura22_new
      the commenter was rightfully pointed out that Amber nails practices very well but at competitions she can't deliver for the entire performance and this again happened yesterday. She did the 3A nicely and the first part of the program then from the middle she falls apart. Amber herself knows it and said she would work on it.

      The doubled Salchow and popped Lutz really hurt her base value and yes the last loop and flip had negative GOEs as well. Had she rotated fully she would’ve been many places higher, as she got great GOEs on her first three jumping passes and solid program components. And mostly everyone who places ahead of Amber skated well except Loena.

    Everyone should enjoy her performance while they can; she always seems to have all of her messier performances removed from UA-cam (which is why so few videos of her exist here).
    Just sad to see her try for almost a decade and never be able to deliver the goods for two programs in an international event. If it hasn't happened by now, seems doubtful it will ever happen for her. The US needs to get its pipeline in order to have 3 women's spots available for the next Olympics and worlds. It seems to be Isabeau and then a gaping chasm below her.

    • @gailjones1807
      @gailjones1807 3 місяці тому

      Well, I understand but the American women skaters are in transition; some of them are injured, one of them had heart surgery recently but still compete, and some pulled out of juniors too early before they became consistent and precise: still growing as a competitive skater... Isabeau Levito won Juniors Worlds and Lindsey Thougren medalled for third 🥉 place in 2022... Unfortunately, the juniors who turned seniors in 2023, are still learning, engaging and growing but working on consistency during pressure when everything counts: they have to trust in their practices, their coaches, have fun with their passion and pray before they compete and most importantly, do their best and that is what required of them and anybody can have a bad day even from the best of them and besides they are not 🚭🚫 sponsored by the GOVERNMENT as some countries and that's a fact!!!! But Amber could have won the whole thing but again she always doubt herself but she has done better and nothing cave in nor quit: she would be okay: Amber is still young and in her twenties as Starr Andrew, and Bradke Tennell! had heart surgery and the other foot/ankle injury) so when you are injured, you are not 🚭🚫 💯 percent at your best and then mental challenges play a vital part while competing and hindering your performance and then your fate is in the hands of the JUDGES... And that brings me to your comment; they are getting better and only time would tell!!!! Ted said that the judges give each contender their assessment of each program and furthermore, coaches look at the progression for the big picture and each contender has her/his goal, but Amber Glenn is not 🚭🚫 going anywhere until she met her goal and she improved of not 🚭🚫 caving in and quit and for that reason alone, I am proud of her!!!! All judging is subjective artistically but technically the scoring is precise and accurate; and some judges are stricter than others and they are very strict with the AMERICANS than others because it's obvious internationally; one mistake, you might be in the bottom or close to it and don't make two mistakes, you won't compete at all in the technical short program and that has happened constantly and that would work on one's mental stability if possible and even that is a learning synopsis for all contenders... so they are in TRANSITION and working on stepping up under pressure!! And that is what happened to Amber Glenn!!! She was in 11th place and she ended up in 10th place and that's IMPORTANT: they met their goal for three American women skaters representing the tesm USA!!!! Go USA sll this way!!!! The WORLD 🌎🌍 is coming to BOSTON, USA in 2025!!! And 3 would be competing with the WORLD 🌎 🌍!!!!

    If speed and big jumps made up the whole of figure skating, then Amber would be tops. However, skating is a lot more than jumps, and Amber is no artist on ice. Just because of her popularity on Instagram and her penchant for draping herself in a flag that represents her sexuality choices, does not make her a special female figure skater in 2024. Isabeau Levito is far and away the best American ladies figure skater , she’s a throwback to the days when skating artistry was as important as jumps.

It’s almost like for Amber, her social media following and activism is as important as her skating, and it shows year after year. She’ll be 26 at the OLYS, and the Russians will be there, can you realistically say Amber has a snowball’s chance in hell at even getting close enough to sniff the OLY podium or even within the top 5?
