Thanks for the mention on the video. Your saw is not running anywhere near it potential. I would recommend getting rid of the Zama carb, and putting on a Tillotson. Kits are easier to find, and works much better than the crappy Zama,s. Your saw is a fairly late model, and the Zama was purchased to cut costs. If you want to hop up the saw, there are some NOS cylinders on flea-bay that have the 650 style porting. This would be a simple bolt on upgrade. When the 610,s are running properly, you will find that they really dont need any hop up. How well the chain is sharpened is another thing that is paramount to superior cutting with this saw. 1976 was the first year for the 600 series saw (the farm mac), 1977 and later, Pro Mac.
@@KainKustomGarage I sent you an email. Walbro is good quality but a little harder to work on. You need a special tool to set the metering lever but otherwise they are good quality.
Great little cutters! I've got the 655 which is supposedly A#1/top of the heap for the 600 series, I've got it in my mill and boy that thing loves to put in work!!! This coming weekend I'll be able to get a good rundown on my unicorn as there is a fella who loves the mcculloch 600 and has requested I bring the 655 to the Chainsaw Hoarders BBQ!! The only major difference I've seen on 655 vs 650 is the muffler so Finally I'll be able to find our more!! Cheers man thanks for firing er up!!
found Pro Mac 610 in a hoarders garage when he passed. it was on concrete floor with 15 ft of hoarding on top. at least 25 years. did nothing at all to this saw except fresh fuel. 6 or 7 pulls she popped. two more and this thing ran like a dream. it looks like it rolled around the back of a pickup truck for ten years but it's the best running most reliable saw i own. new baby stihl 210 or husky 41 this Pro Mac 610 is my go to every time. heavy AF though but it's got enough power for my 26" bar. i also have an old skilsaw 1612 16" that was from the same place. that one is unbelievably lite and is just super fun. harder to find the 1/4 pitch chain for it. oregon 25ap amazon only place i can find. they just dont build stuff like they use to.
I got a 605 in a trade. Bought a 28 inch bar for it. It will pull it if you take it easy. Love these saws, really heavy with that 28 inch bar. I cut a 27 inch mulberry with it this weekend.
@@KainKustomGarage just scored a 910E Jonsereds. Runs great and pretty clean. Need to decide if I'm going to keep it or if it needs to go to someone that wants it for their collection. Love the videos.

I bought one last October at the Hardy Ark. Annual fall FFA consignment Auction. $20 and got a plastic carry case. Really dirty saw. the engine is stuck. I removed the plug and poured a mix of trans fluid and diesel in it. them laid it on its side and poured the muffler full. Havent touched it since.
Hi ! Jostein Norway here. Thx for demo and well I just also got me a 610 here ! :-) Can you help me with 2-10 I got here. Not familiar with Mcculloch... you know...most swedish here he he. On the 2-10 the is sprocket...looks old and maybe original...from start he he of saw. I can bearly read 62572-A on it and other side...SM 57. Do you know if it is 404 pitch ? Where to find chain and bar for that sprocket and that saw ? You know ? It har a bullfrog in it and i got it running he he but cant wait to get chain and bar...that i can use. We more used to 3/8 and 325...which seems not to fit. It looks like 7 grip or teeth... It is the round type spriocket... not the star kind of theet lokking sprocket...if you understand what i mean. Ansvers apreciated !
Hi Jostein! Sounds like it has what we call a rim sprocket, should be able to change the rim part to 3/8 and I think an Echo mount bar is pretty close to Mcculloch with just slight modifications....all found on ebay...hope this helps 😊
@@KainKustomGarage Thx ! I learn. Yes ok...rim sprocket. It seems to be very old...It is fixed at the clutch drum. Not seen that before. Just pulled two of these off the shelf after 22 yrs. Put gas and after about 20 pulls they both started and ran like they used to. Super impressive.

What a great saw and a great movie!

Mine is growing on me too. At first I wasn’t going to keep it, but you know how that goes.
I do know, lol😉
That's a really nice Mac Dan.
It hasn't been used much at all looking at the lack of wear on the bottom.
Thanks Clint, I made the mistake of lending it out once and the guy almost destroyed it, had to do a lot of cleaning and maintenance...

Just picked up a running Pro Mac 610 for $20. The chain brake handle is broken though. Got any parts? 👍
Great deal! Don't have an extra chain brake handle, Ebay!
Hey how'd that little hole get in the top of the air filter mounting plate? haha. I also did the same extra air holes on my poulan 3400 (copied you).
