Mitchell Schultz Yup! We tried really hard to make it look good on the outside of the frame so once the frame is coated you won’t be able to tell it’s stretched.
When you were mentioning drilling the new holes in the cab if you were using the outboard cab mounts that highboy had. You menetioned dealing with crush sleeve. Can you explain that to me cause I’m putting my 69 2wd on a highboy frame.
Vincent Gallis a 69 is going to have a different mount style than the later 70-72 trucks like this one. Those will have a plate that holds the bottom of the fuel tank as well as large area to clamp on the cab to keep it from crushing it. They are different from f-250 to highboy and f-350. These later trucks done have the plate and use a sleeve inside the structure of the cab to keep you from crushing the cab. One of the videos from my ultimate highboy build (2 or 3 I think) goes over this early style.
@@MattKubik1791 So do you think I’m better off moving the crossmember from the tool drive over to the 4 x 4 frame or do I just drill holes in the cab to suit the outer cab mounts in the highboy frame
Vincent Gallis is this a regular cab truck is crewcab? If it’s regular cab just drill out the cab. There is indentions where the holes should be. You will just need to find the right top plates from a 67-69 highboy or f-350.
Vincent Gallis yup! I didn’t use them on my 67 highboy build. I just used a big washer but I wasn’t able to get them as tight as I would want before it started to crush the cab. I would recommend trying to find some.
Nice work Matt, I would hope you will keep this special truck for your own. Keep us in the loop.
Those frame extensions sure came out nice.

Good explanations Matt
Back in the day crew cab pickups were very rare. There was a lot of 2 wheel drive standard cab 1/2 ton trucks.
For sure! Only 2500 F-250 crews made in 72
