Discovering Military Relics At An Old Homesite While Metal Detecting

- UPDATE: The eagle/star items found are not part of a harness as stated in the video, but were links to a button belt which was a popular style in the mid-1870's. I've found 3 eagles, 2 stars, and a back to another button link so far. Perhaps the connection between the military and the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway was that during this time, the military set up camps in order to guard the railway workers as they were building railroads.
I went back to an unmapped homesite from my previous video, and I was able to spend the entire day there with the XP Deus II. Since I had more time, I moved slowly through the iron and unearthed some incredible items. I had no idea exactly just what I'd found until I got home and dug a little deeper. No pun intended.

Nice hunt, some cool finds. ATB 👍👍
Thoroughly enjoyed today's finds!
Awesome job, big congrats 👏
Great hunt! I absolutely love those vintage rings!
Thanks and so do I! The funny thing is…I’ve been detecting for 15 years and have never found a gold or silver ring!
Hey brother, you have some unique digs. The eagle "button" pieces are a mystery. But fascinating to see them come up. I'm interested in those "star" pieces as to what they could be. Man, awesome video!!
Apparently, they are all part of a horse harness. I just can’t figure out what the connection is between that railroad and the military. I’m heading back today to see if I can find more of them.
Awesome finds! Those star and eagle pieces are really cool!
Thanks! I’m still looking into those pieces, but I keep hitting to a dead end. All I can find is the Ebay listing.
Looks like it was beyond a great day. Awesome finds. Keep up the great work.
Thanks buddy!
Love your channel bro. I like finding that kinda stuff! Good finds!
Thank you!
Let’s go let’s go treasure and adventure ✌️💕❤️🌺👵🇺🇸🌎🎉
Another good video. Power lines can be a challenge for sure. ATB.....Pap
Thank you. I went back out and switched over to the Mono program. That knocked most of the EMI right out. The downside is that I won't be able to reap the benefits of running multi-frequency out there. Dropping down to 10.3mHz helped me find a 1903 IHP, 9 overalls studs, and several brass rivets. I can't wait to start watching some of your videos once things calm down a little around here.
Some nice old buttons and cool old Padlock front plate👌Cheers for the Vid😎
Thanks! Heading back today to see if there’s more out there.
@@reliclife Good luck today👌
@@ATTreasureHunter thanks! I didn’t do great but I managed to find a ring and 1903 IHP.
@@reliclife Rings are also great and I love your IHC’s and Half’s. I went out yesterday got a few old coins and my first Silver of the year but for some reason my knee is really sore🤨 Hopefully you’ll find some more great stuff this weekend🤞
@@ATTreasureHunter sorry about your knee. I’ve been there many times. It sucks getting old 🤣 Congrats on the silver!
Look like a Texas star button Civil War
It’s part of a “button belt.” The stars are from the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railway.
Good job
