To date Edmundo is regarded in Brazil as one of the greatest Brazilian players. He was a master dribbler. I watched this game live, and Whitmore was the man of the match. Junior Baiano almost killed him. Romario missed a ton of chances, but they toyed with us at times in that match. That said, I doubt the Brazilians expected Jamaica to have such skillful players like tappa.

Jamaicans could have been great in football but too much corruption in the country sport decisions. Instead of choosing the best to compete, it's based on who knows who. There are so many great footballers in Jamaica that has been playing for outside country and teams.

I was as this game and the energy was buzzing all night! Paul Hall should have been given a penalty. Whitmore was just pure class...every touch, the 1-2 pass, walk-around the defender ( elbow/red card ( think his nose was broken). Thanks for the memories.

Exactly, well said. The huge difference now is Jamaica off the ball movement and how they press, it's basically non existent now. So other teams can pick out a pass, back Simoes had Jamaicas fitness up there. That's one of the reasons Walter Boyd couldn't get a game. He was talented but lazy. Miss the positivity that this team brought to the country
I mean... if there was VAR Jamaica would have been reduced to 8 men by the minute 60 though. They played with heart and well but jesus christ they were dirty as fuck. Like, watch the full match man, it was crazy, then at the last minute the brazilian defender with the game already at its end went for payback and almost killed a jamaican player with one of the dirtiest fouls ever. Not exactly a night of great football

Very true...and that made a big difference. The current coaches are probably too quiet on the sideline
Looking back at this game" just goes to show you that given the opportunity; Jamaicans can win at any level at any task, we won this game and did so by outplaying Brazil in the last 30 mts.
The penalty from the foul on Paul Hall was spot on as the tackle was a desperate lounge after being outpaced and left for dead.

Decent performance but to be fair ....the best performances I have seen from Jamaica were a 2-0 win against Uruguay and a 2-1 win over Chile. Notable mentions (2-1 win over USA in USA and 1-0 win over Mexico in the Gold Cup)
