Fortunately most of my pipes were rerouted through my attic, everything in the floor was abandoned, if you have one that's leaking you'll have another, you're better off rerouting through attic space.. this does not seem like a feasible plan, also anytime you do tile work, it's always good to leave a few extras somewhere on the property, for roofing tile they usually stack them underneath the house...
Thanks for this. I definitely have a slab leak in my backyard concrete. I have a good idea exactly where it is because I had a pinhole repair in that area a few years ago and water is seeping up through the concrete cracks. I'm thinking the whole 30' run of lateral copper pipe should be replaced, not just a spot repair. Can a new pipe be run without removing 30' of concrete? Or how about running pex underground? Or running pex through the inside of the existing copper pipe (which I saw someone on youtube do).
If it's a hot water leak and you have wood or tile floors, you can feel the warm spot. My sister just discovered a hot water leak in her new home because the floor was 15 degrees warmer at the leak.
I did not I already knew I had a leak because it was hot water line and my floor was very hot. I did call out a leak detector person who confirmed I had a leak but he would charge me $2000 to repair it , the location where he told me the leak was was a different area in the floor.. not sure if he did that on purpose.
Just reroute the line already! You do ALL that work put the cement back then get a pin hole 10' over from where you made the repair. It just makes more sense for all parties involved to reroute with pex =)
We just went through this. Don't let anyone bust a hole in your slab when you can just simply abandon and re route the line.
Thank you Sir for this comment. They should have just called a knowledgeable licensed plumber!
It's get harder when it's a two story home

@@markrodli1811 Why is that money bags?
Thank you for posting this. Your video saved my sanity. I appreciate your time and effort.
Did you have the same issue? If yes, how expensive was it? Did insurance cover it?
You’re a beast for that one! Talk about a diy project!
Thank you so much for the video, it is very helpful, today I woke up with the same situation.
Good video.
Excelente, como localizaste el leak?

Yes yes and if you really wanted to yes
Good video. Don't you have to braze the soldering since it's going to be under slab ? What kind of soldering did u use.? Thank you !
Thanks for pointing that out i did do it but probably skipped that part when editing the video, also I used silver.
How you know if drain or supply line has minor leak behind or inside concrete wall behind kitchen .?
You will need a leak detector.

If he told you a different location how did you know it was under that tile?

Mine is a cold water line this is legit the prresure from walking on it won’t bend the pipe ?
Thank God this wasn't a post tension slab 🤗
Nice job. How old was this house?
15yrs
On the next video I will replace the tile just have to look for the matching tile.
Could of used the Aquapea save digging the floor up👍
I might have to do the same thing. Was it expensive to do?
omg you didnt watch the end? it says it there

Yep!😁
most places you are not allowed to sweat pipe under ground
Exactly. Use a sharkbite.
Line cannot be soldered underground. Must be brazed if using copper couplings
No pipe wrap?! Pipe wrap is required where I am.
