  • Tadghan Woods received the ASA Learn To Swim Award at the ASA Aquatics Awards 2016.
Tadghan has been learning to swim for just over a year. He suffers from severe glue ear, resulting in him using a hearing aid, and he also suffers from asthma.
There were initially some concerns with his ability to hear instructions without his hearing aid in lessons with other children, however Tadghan has blossomed and managed to move up through the swim classes to Level 3, recently achieving his 200m award.
His asthma is also improving due to his fitness level increasing. Now age seven, Tadghan has moved school three times due to being part of a transient military family.
Swimming is a welcome respite in which he is developing confidence and achieving numerous badges and certificates.
