      He wasn't happy with his role. He never was. Always complaining, for decades about it. Apparently, he had a reputation since at least the 80s for being dissatisfied with his role as prince consort. He even expressed jealousy of his eldest son representing the queen in his later years, claiming he'd been demoted. The man had problems.

But I've heard he has retired ;no more offficial function will he attend .;I believe he is in Caix his property in France. Or perhaps his health is failing ? Anyone with news? Beatiful dress .Timeless style.Wonderful tailoring .Also picked the exact right fabic for a wedding dress ,(stiffness and weight of fabric) and luxurious shine with wrinkle free aspect, as did Dutchess Catherine,In my opinion ,one of the loviest,incorporating both lux fabic and lace beautifully, besides Grace Kelly's, Princess of Monoco .Princess Diana's was lovely( for it's time) but the fabric was horrible and wrinkled terribly . Meghan Markles was horrific ,looked much too simplistic in it's design( in a thoughtless way) ,and wrinkled but worse was the fit and tailoring ( even the design house admitted to this recently).There have been other beautiful ones ,too many to name.

    It was an inappropriate and morganatic marriage, the heiress of one of the oldest kingdoms in Europe marries some commoner, with no lineage and everyone thinks it's normal, not even her father, the king, had the good sense to forbid it. It is very sad that European royal families have abandoned principles and beautiful traditions.

    • @Ettibridget
      @Ettibridget 2 роки тому +3

      Now what kind of rubbish is that?! He was NOT a commoner! He had the title Count of Montpezat and his family was of french aristocracy and nobility. They most certainly had a lineage!
      And if you believe royals should marry royals; well there were not many royals left to marry back then.
      Do some research please!

      They would have to start marrying their own cousins if they stuck to royals only. Most of European royal families are related - they all need fresh blood in order not to interbreed.

      @SR-iy4gg 8 місяців тому

      YOU do some research. Henrik/Henry's family were NEVER counts. They were NEVER part of the French nobility, no matter what he claimed. It was a fraud, plain and simple. His ancestral family were middle class farmers who were never admitted to the nobility.@@Ettibridget
