Prince Henrik and Queen Margarethe are very much in love then as they are now. You can see it when they are together. They are not afraid to show their affection towards each other
HRH Prince Henrik portrays a stricking figure back then. Of course Her Majesty is as beautiful and striking as she has always been, up to an including today.
Such a beautiful couple, so much in love.
I wish I was a Dane! Love these two, love Danish Royal family, love Denmark!
See looks a lovely person and so natural ❤️❤️
Gud bevare Danmark.
Awwwwww did you see when they walked past the doors ? It looked like Margarethe went to take Henrik's hand and they didn't meet one another.
Yeah. They seemed very mismatched to me. I watched another video here a couple days ago from their wedding, when they were walking out. He didn't seem to actually walk WITH her. He was almost in front of her, practically pulling her along. Then, he was known for at least 40 years for complaining about his role as "second fiddle" and not being made a king. The man wasn't even a real count, as he claimed. His family historically was middle class farmers who tried at least a couple times in the 1700s to be ennobled and were denied each time.
The people of Denmark Loved them
So nice the people are close to them.
she has that same wonderful smile.
I love this couple 😍😍😍😘😇
She has stars in her eyes whenever she looks at him!!! 😍🤩
Magnifique couple qui nageait dans le bonheur !
A handsome couple...
They may have been in love at their wedding, but, by the time he died, he didn't even want to be buried next to her!
Why??
He did have alzheimers or some other disease, so he was definitely not himself those last couple of years...
As the years passed he had a harder and harder time accepting living in his wife's shadow. And he finally decided to protest in eternity.

How do you know?
Rainha Margarete sempre bela.
Beautiful dresa
What I have noticed is, that there were less people then. We have had a population explosion since.
That seems like a lot of people to me!
Uh, yeah. The whole world's population has grown substantially since then.
Is that the veil that Mary wore?
Yes. I think it is made of Carrickmacross lace. It is an old family heirloom.
It's the same veil her grandmother, Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden wore, all three of Ingrid's daughters wore, and Mary.
Lots of love from India
From which palace in Amalienborg are the royal couple waving?
Fra hvilket palads i Amalienborg vinker kongeparret ?
Queen Margrethe II is more beautiful now at age 82 than she was when she got married in 1967.
Um, okay. Please put some glasses on.
This is the prince who wanted to be King. Right?
Yes, he complained a lot to newspapers papers that he wanted the title of King. I’m not sure why nobody explained how you get titles and why before Magarethe became Queen.
He wanted to be king consort and that title doesn't exist.
He was a french clown that never bothered to learn proper danish.
Nederlandstalig,English,et Francais..its enough?
@@diegolouf8409 You are not a consort, right? If you want to live in Denmark you must learn danish. Besides his unhelpful danish he spoke french, english, spanish, vietnamese and chinese. And yet for some reason he couldn't learn proper danish. Honestly?
@@Ettibridget you have à lovely queen..the best of the world..

Good breeding all around, all the European princes are tall and handsome, the qeens and consorts beautiful. AND very very rich.
Ahhh, they made wise upgrade s on the palace since, one such was the direction in which those doors open on the balcony. The balcony is already so small, those doors didn't make things any easier
She almost kissed him 💔😭
Crown Princess Margareth in 1967 became Queen on 1972
00:07 Is it only my impression that she expected to hold her hand but he didn't?
i saw it too... i guess he was not used to stand on a balcony ..... lol
@@avapeters631everything was new to him he was nervous and besides you can totally see she was more in love with him than he was in love with her...

Roughly about 10 years before I was born. The bride looks so pretty! 😘
The last surviving queen regnant in the world now.
It was an inappropriate and morganatic marriage, the heiress of one of the oldest kingdoms in Europe marries some commoner, with no lineage and everyone thinks it's normal, not even her father, the king, had the good sense to forbid it. It is very sad that European royal families have abandoned principles and beautiful traditions.
Jealous?

Get your facts right. It's Crown Prince Frederik who married a commoner.
You mean beautiful traditions of arranged marriages without love in which yoi quickly take a lover...

Yes, he wanted to be King.
Il n’à pas de famille ?
Is it me or do Queen Margharet and Princess Mary really look alike a bit 😃😃😃
Love reigns supreme for these two ❤❤
Perhaps Henrik should have listened to his father...
What did his father tell him???
"You will skinned alive for the rest of your days".
His father warned him about marrying the future queen and urged his son to get a clear job description from the king and the royal court. He didn't listen.
