This year was truly a strange reading year, every quarter felt like it lacked something magical and yet I still had a good amount of 5 stars. It seems to be a trend too!
Idk if this is necessarily a suggestion, but I've been wanting someone to vlog reading like an authors debut, second, and third book (maybe even fourth) and talking about if they'd keep reading from the author and why. Maybe not series but I don't like only authors most popular works, I like to read all they got if I like what they saying lol it's the romance reader in me
For the quarterly wrap-ups, I’m interested in what you had strong feelings about, whether positive or negative. Maybe you could sort from strongest feelings/opinions on a book to least feeling, and skip the bottom few that you just don’t have that much to say about
Maybe create some sort of fun mini goal for the next quarter based on how it went. Like find a new favorite audio book and could get recommendations or see if you can spell a word with the letters of books you enjoyed or read more books by authors you have previously enjoyed than you did in the last quarter of
i'd be curious if you unintentionally finished the a-z or alphabet challenge where either the book title or the author's last name starts with every letter of the alphabet
For the creatures series, maybe do one about birds (so it's less specific so gives you loads of options across genres) - ravens, crows, rooks, blackbirds, etc
I could never be as intellectual as you but I absolutely love your love for reading as well as your personality. Gosh I wish I could read like you do. I am convinced you’re out of this world 😆 forever obsessed even when I don’t understand lol
If you haven't already, would it be possible for you to make a video about how to you create your graphics? They all look so pretty! I wish I could make something like that.
I love the quarterly updates! I think we all love your content either way, but maybe combining the monthly and quarterly updates into just quarterly ones? That way you don’t feel burnt out but can still have a super fun stats chat! 🩷
I personally really enjoy stats videos because I'm a complete nerd about that kind of thing. If you feel like the section where you rehash your favorites in the last quarter is repetitive maybe you could mix it up by giving out book superlatives instead?
All right y'all what Dragon books would Kayla actually like though? Anyone out there who reads weird, horror and unhinged books that also have dragons? I work at a library and the closest I can find is 'Tooth and Claw' by Jo Walton. Seriously. Firebourne is too YA, Temeraire is too historical...what are your best Dragon books?
According to the stats you gave for each of the individual ratings, I don't think that average rating of 3.1 is correct? ((5 * 3) + (4 * 27) + (3 * 24) + (2 * 9) + (1 * 2)) / (3+27+24+9+2) = 3.3 Also (3+27+24+9+2) is 65 so I assume there might be 1 unrated or missed book.
Maybe unpopular union but since you don’t love doing wrap up videos and almost all of your books are in vlogs, maybe next year only do quarterly wrap ups, no monthly
You could tack quarterly updates/stats onto your March, June, September, and December monthly wrap ups. The stats are cool to hear but I feel bad you're repeating yourself so much
Perhaps you should try being more ruthless with DNFing 🤔 In 2024 I started to DNF a lot of books I felt like would only be 3 stars because to me that's kinda mediocre and if I feel that that will be the case, why not move on to something I may enjoy more?
Do whatever makes you happy, of course! But, I personally don’t usually watch the creature series because I’m not interested in books that surround a creature figuratively or literally.
I think that maybe you could stop with quarterly or Reads of the month, I think it's really repetitive. Or at least space it out more, because yesterday I listening about 40% of the same books in this video. But I love you channel and anxious about Read in 2024 video.
You don’t have to watch these videos if you find them repetitive. Some people only watch these videos so summaries help. And I just enjoy hearing Kayla speak. To offer an opposing opinion
she’s said before in some of the monthly wrap ups that it does feel repetitive since so many of them are reviewed in vlogs. i think the issue is that different viewers watch different things. some watch only vlogs, some watch only wrap-ups, some may only watch a 13-minute quarterly summary but not want to watch 20-30 minute wrap ups each month. i think the reason she still does all of the above is to reach the most viewers. but i agree with you that maybe there’s a way to make it feel less repetitive for some viewers and for her as the creator!
@@XOmangoXO I watch all kayla's videos beacause is the way I can to support her. And I just commented only because she asked for feedback. And yeah quarterly stats are only 4 times a year, but I think that if I (the viewer) find them repetitive maybe she (the creator) thinks the same. But like @theotherveronica just said down below and I quote "maybe there’s a way to make it feel less repetitive for some viewers and for her as the creator". Unforturnely i'm not a creative person so I can't really help her to find a non repetitive format, but even if she maintain the format I will keep watcing all of her videos. 😁 😅
When you were discussing The God of the Woods, I definitely briefly misheard “later” as “lighter” and had a moment of “man, I can’t believe the timeline where the kid goes missing is *lighter* 🫣” so anyway, happy new years eve, may everyone’s hearing & audio processing be better than mine in the new year😂
5:32 "Should I cancel that series of reading creaturey things" You just don't want to give the audience what they want! 😭 DRAGONS! 😆
No canceling the creature series until after dragons pls 😁
Yup, we all want our dragon vlog 😂
Kayla: I’m NEVER doing this
All of us: okay so ?? when are we doing this?
😂😂😂😂
@@peachykeenchy maybe if we keep asking nicely enough 😅

the pops of pink on the cuffs of your sweater were such a pleasant surprise lol
One of my most anticipated videos of the year!!! Please do an intro with Rob’s voice for the falalalalala part for one of your vids

I loved you breaking down your stats in this video ❤
5:30 Not before DRAGONS!🐲 (please)
Love the quarterly wrap-up 🤓 here for the graphs and stats
Thank you for still making the 4th quarter wrap up... I was looking forward to this
most anticipated moment of my day!
i'd be curious if you unintentionally finished the a-z or alphabet challenge where either the book title or the author's last name starts with every letter of the alphabet
Damn I got here at just the right time. These videos are singlehandedly getting me through this season. 😂
For the creatures series, maybe do one about birds (so it's less specific so gives you loads of options across genres) - ravens, crows, rooks, blackbirds, etc
I haven't technically had a five star all year so I can't say I had any real favourites this quarter 😬 Oh well, let's hope next year is better!
the way you described The Thirteen Tale sounds similar to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo!
I NEED a link to that cardigan. I love it!
I'm definitely going to read Sky Full of Elephants!
I could never be as intellectual as you but I absolutely love your love for reading as well as your personality. Gosh I wish I could read like you do. I am convinced you’re out of this world 😆 forever obsessed even when I don’t understand lol
I won the e-book of It's Elementary from Goodreads. I'll have to read it now. 😊
it's good!! you should
3.1 stars was my average for the y e a r 😭😭😭
If you haven't already, would it be possible for you to make a video about how to you create your graphics? They all look so pretty! I wish I could make something like that.
Kayla ahh it's an honor to be your fifth favorite of the whole quarter oh my gaddd (I'll ignore the part about how most of what you read was bunk ❤🥰)
I love the quarterly updates! I think we all love your content either way, but maybe combining the monthly and quarterly updates into just quarterly ones? That way you don’t feel burnt out but can still have a super fun stats chat! 🩷
THE CREATURES ARE STAYING hahahah
I love these videos, even at the end of the year!
I personally really enjoy stats videos because I'm a complete nerd about that kind of thing. If you feel like the section where you rehash your favorites in the last quarter is repetitive maybe you could mix it up by giving out book superlatives instead?
I like your quarterly updates if you’re taking a poll!
how do you track your stats? is it something you could share as a template?
No don’t cancel the creatures series 😭
My average for the whole year is a whopping 3.0 😅 This was not my year for books. I only found ONE new five star
All right y'all what Dragon books would Kayla actually like though? Anyone out there who reads weird, horror and unhinged books that also have dragons? How do you compile your stats? Is that an app or do you make it yourself?
I think keep quarterly wrap ups and stop the monthly. ❤
Please DO NOT cancel the series of creatury books
Maybe unpopular union but since you don’t love doing wrap up videos and almost all of your books are in vlogs, maybe next year only do quarterly wrap ups, no monthly
i wouldn’t mind this change at all 😊
what did you use in the reading for the aesthetic video
what program that holds the pics of books together ??
3 five stars in 3 months is crazyy 😭😭😭
this has nothing to do with the content of the video… but i love your cardigan/sweater (?)
If you aren’t going to do dragons, you might as well cancel the creatures 😁
….. jk I love all the creatures!
hiii bestie
I’m not getting my 5 stars from new releases often these days. Most of mine are coming from backlists. It’s disappointing. Bring back editing!!!
I pulled my stats together today and my yearly average rating was only a 3.45 😢 It’s going to be a 2025 goal to DNF more
You could tack quarterly updates/stats onto your March, June, September, and December monthly wrap ups. The stats are cool to hear but I feel bad you're repeating yourself so much

I think everyone's average rating for this year is bad. My average is a 3.4.
I mean you can't end the video saying you run things based on our feedback and then not give us the dragon episode 😁
Why aren’t more people talking about book titled Guarded Laws of Money Manifestation? It’s seriously a hidden treasure.
Do whatever makes you happy, of course! But, I personally don’t usually watch the creature series because I’m not interested in books that surround a creature figuratively or literally.
