[02:23] 🎬 The Vlogging Shot List consists of the 5Ws: Who, What, When, Where, and Why, which help structure and guide the storytelling process in vlogs. [08:06] 📝 To apply the 5Ws, continuously refer to the Vlogging Shot List during filming, ensuring that each shot answers one of the questions.
Thanks for the tips. I've noted the 5 W's and will try to apply some of them to my (boring) daily videos. It might help more when we travel. We have a cruise coming up in June, so might try to apply it there.
Great video. Easy to watch and you break down things simply. Recently I found my GoPro Hero 6 Black that I received years ago as a company gift for several years of service. So I’d thought I might start playing with it. I had some photography classes in college and I remember the instructor lecturing us about working with what you have and not focus on gear, like lenses and filters Your videos are helpful in trying to put the basics together to make the GoPro 6 work for video blogging.
Hi there. My name is John. I’m from Australia & I suffered a stroke over a year ago. Unfortunately I became paralyzed on the left side. I’m wheelchair bound I’m thinking of doing a vlog about the life of a handicap person. What sort of camera would you recommend being right handed only. I was thinking 360 camera but the quality isn’t that good. Would appreciate a recommendation. Thanks.
Hi Gemini. Could you clarify the difference about a roll and b roll in your vids? Good studying video. Do you use mediamod all the time? Or if you travel it’s uncomfortable to plug-in all devices - mics, change battery etc. What do you think about using GoPro without mod? This is general tips in the video. Could you answer how not to shy filming in the post office 🏤, mall or in the street? And how to train myself about to talk freely on a cam? This is basic problems for me. Thank you for a video, it was helpful, but not much views, hope you will continue making the study serie. Say “privet” to Martin
A roll is your primary footage that you use to tell your story. For most people, it's video of them speaking. B roll is the supporting video that overlays or goes in between your A roll, if that makes sense. We use the Media Mod 100% of the time, mostly to add the 3.5mm mic jack so we can connect the Rode Wireless Go II, our favorite external microphone. The GoPro by itself has okay sound, but it is much better to use an external microphone. I'll do another video about getting over the fear of filming in public 😀
@@Gemini_Connect Hi Gemini, thanks for the information, which is important to me, but using with media mod is such uncomfortable instead just take a cam on a selfie stick with magnetic mount and go to shoot. Have a nice day.
‘Niche’ 😀 Same as Americans saying ‘chassis’ 😅 (Europeans pronounce them as ‘sh’, that aside, great video 😀)(I always find the ‘ch’ pronunciation funny 😅)
There are no rules, really. I've seen vlogs especially from Japan and Korea where the vlogger never talks and just adds subtitles and captions. That totally works too in my opinion.
It depends on the type of vlog. Some can be planned, and others are more spontaneous. For my style, I like to have a bit of structure and then leave room for improvisation. Be to each their own…
I found have some shots planned actually helps to release some of my mental space so I can be more creative, because I would know I have something to fall back to

In my head I think of it as "nishe" but when I say it, it always comes out as a "ch" 😛
Yes please!
Thank you
You're welcome 🙏
Do you have to talk on your Vlogg? Can you just add text and music? Or is it even a Vlogg then.
There are no rules, really. I've seen vlogs especially from Japan and Korea where the vlogger never talks and just adds subtitles and captions. That totally works too in my opinion.
Seattle's rainy season? 🌧 24/7/365 😜
It's one of the driest parts of the country July through September actually. We'd say only November till January is intolerable
@@Gemini_Connect its a seattle definition of dry. With the right clothes you can golf most of the year.
Can you still say film ??
Yeah, I think so 😉
you can never make a good vlog if you are planning everything ...
