Every Mets fan will remember where they were that day! I had just gotten back from Rosh Hashanah dinner, my dad was hunched over the phone on the ESPN app, he went "OH MY GOD" and told us what happened and my voice still hasn't completely recovered from how loud I screamed lmao. LFGM!!
with my dad watching the thursday night football game, we had thought that the brewers were gonna end it but then we turned the game back on just as alonso came up, gonna remember that forever LGM
0:43 The dad chucking his daughter over his back while he jumps around and she has NO PROBLEM with it really sums up the wholesome, glorious chaos of that moment.
Never get tired of watching this! Pete immortalized in a moment. Love seeing grown men and women instantly revert to early childhood when one's whole body exudes joy and excitement. Everyone sounded like George Bailey at the end of "It's a Wonderful Life!" What a wonderful season!
I worked a 12 hour shift and I was laying on the couch my back was hurting so bad, and when Pete hit it, I got up and jumped up and down like a little kid
0:38 Man, there's just something about watching fans feel the initial excitement off the bat, and then the sheer elation when they watch the ball go over the wall in pressure situations like this that makes baseball magical. As a Mets fan, I don't remember the Mets having a bigger home run in my lifetime. Hanging by a thread and doing what they did all year and came back. What a moment, and for now maybe Pete's last big moment as a Met.
Baseball fucking rules. Hands down the most memorable moment me and my girl had watching the Mets together. Never saw her lose it like that and we lost it together. Such an insane fairytale moment. Pete got his moment in such an absolute nail biting pivotal moment. The best Mets moment of the year.
At home on this night in Puerto Rico with a lit John Wick candle clutching my rosary, sobbing quietly in prayer asking the good lord to at the very least give me strength to accept our impending elimination. Little did pretty much all of us know how much Candelita helped light a fire in our Polar Pete. Screamed so loud I woke up my next-door aunt through closed doors. Vocal chords yet to fully recover. From tears of anguish to pure unfiltered joy. God I love my team. Vamos Mets!!
Yeah I'm sure the most high really gave a darn about a stupid game when there are people dying because of hurricanes, children being abused, people starving, and wars all over the world. Yeah I'm sure your lame Mets is what he was focusing his miracles on. Smh
This moment was just amazing. My grandmother had been hospitalized the day before when my whole family was gathered for Rosh Hashanah. We had to call 911, no one knew what was happening -- just terrifying, awful. The next day, my dad and I went to visit her in the hospital (luckily she was doing better). On our way back home, we stop by at my cousin's house for a quick dinner.... just to witness the back-to-back homers in the 7th. Great. We start the 30-minute drive home, just waiting for the awful day to be finished. We pull into the driveway...just as Pete hits the homer! We walk into the house and my mom, brother, and sister are going crazy. "What happened? What happened?" Pete happened!!!!! I think I actually screamed "No way!" when my brother told me that it was him. It seemed like a movie. And just like that, the worst 24 hours became my favorite memory of watching baseball ever. My whole family stayed downstairs for an hour after the game ended, watching this inning all over again and then going and watching other Mets clips. Truly amazing. I love my grandma, and I love the New York Mets.
One of the fans said to not chase any low and away slider and i was thinking the same thing at that time. Williams kinda does that and it was a good pitch at 3-1, left it out low and middle. Pete reached that outta there. Great AB, great swing....great for Pete Alonso.
If these were Yankee fans watching their team in similar circumstances, they'd be wearing tuxedos and sitting in a high-end pub drinking expensive champagne. When the home run happens, they'd click their champagne flutes together, say "Tarry-ho, my dear chap" and "Quite swell, old sport" and then go back to discussing their high-end stock portfolios.
2:10 Purple shirt is a Yanks fan. His name is Jake from Jomboy media. I know that because I am a Yankee fan and I watch them all the time. (There was no game on for the Yanks.)
What the crap are you talking about???? Yankee fans go just as nuts and even more. It’s just that the Yankees have done it too often more than the Mets.
Somehow amid all the talk about corporate Yankee this and corporate Yankee that, you all forget Yankee stadium sits smack middle of the South Bronx. Speak whatever narrative you want, reality speaks for itself. The person you're describing is actually the owner of your team ironically.
One of the greatest days of my life as a fan of the orange and blue. I view it as the homer that became a wake-up call to the league: meet the Mets! 🔶🔷🍎
I just didnt have it in me to give up. Id seen us come back too many times. I thought i screamed loud, but these reactions have me insecure that i didnt react enough, even if i rewatched it about 100 times with an ear to ear grin 😂❤ LGM, lets get that NLDS tonight!!!
When I saw Sean Manaea with the rally cap I had a feeling Pete was gonna do something special. I just started smiling then Pete actually did and I'm like OMG
After the back to back homers the brewers got i felt deflated, i was pissed beyond belief but once pete hit that home run i screamed so fucking loud my friends neighbors knocked on their door because i was screaming so loud.
