  • Launched in November of 1956, Barossa Pearl changed the Australian wine industry. Developed by Colin Gramp of Orlando and based on the German style of perlwein, the light, delicate, fruity sparkling wine with a clean, lingering finish was a huge success.

    Under the screw cap was a plastic pop top I know because I drank 2 glasses when I was about 12 and barked at the lawn later it was Xmas in the 60's.Brings back fond memories barking. Wish they would bring it back. 🐊

    I wonder where the factory was before moving to between Gawler & Freeling ?
    They weren't subtle with the German influence, Helga cutting the grapes.. lol

    Their later bottles used fused on ceramic labels, like soft drink bottles of the 1960s.
