The idea of a flashback makes me think of the ending of neon gravestones. "To life they were dedicated, now that should be celebrated." So maybe the flashback is reflecting on a good life by choosing to stay alive and what that looks like by "Fighting Right.' Never giving up despite how hard it gets.The flashback being all of clancys life before facing a natural death which may be what Nico represents since we all have to face death some day and can't get rid of that like the other bishops.The focus during the live shows may be a positive outlook on life and continuing the fight as opposed to it being focused on committing vialism. The proof that life can and will be good if you keep fighting right and don't give into vialism. But thats just my theory and first thoughts reading that tweet!

Personaly I think this was the end of it all. Depression is not really something you can get rid of, you can fight as pictured in Paladin's Strait but in the end it will always "hold you by your throat" so to speak. There is no real way to "win" this fight.
I keep hearing a lot of people say this and honestly, I don't by it. Sure mental health may be something that always has to be managed and fought, and the stories ending very well might be the cycle repeating itself, but I simply don't think they would have it end that grimly. Twenty One Pilots has always tried to inspire hope in their listeners, so if the cycle does repeat itself I think it would be much more hopeful and optimistic than just Blurryface choking him. Plus on top of all of that there's a ton of evidence that this isn't the end, Ned's cozy fireplace having an anagram for Clancy seized for EP, the whole Clancy ultimate chapter 25 thing, what Dema talked about in this video etc. So yeah I don't think this is the end and I don't think that's a bad thing, I think the stories ending can be realistic about the continued struggle of mental health and fighting your personal demons while also being more hopeful and joyful, it doesn't have to be one or the other. Anyways I sincerely apologize if any of this has come across as rude or invalidating or confrontational etc, I genuinely don't mean for it to, just wanted to share my two cents on it lol. From a writing standpoint, this leaves a lot of issues, a lot of plot holes and a lot of unused narratives if this is indeed the end (for example, what was the purpose of Overcompensate? We haven't seen the rebellion from within the city). I'm all for ambiguous endings and this could be interpreted as a win or a loss, but the issue with the ending is the fact that it being an ending isn't clear. From a lore standpoint, it doesn't fit into the message of needing to have challenges in one's life, of the cycle of mental health because it doesn't actually cycle otherwise we would go back to HDS. Plus, for a band whose motto is 'stay alive' it would be really odd if they actually had the bishops win rather than the cycle restarting or there being a truce. Either way, pilots have been hinting at more coming themselves with the whole 25 thing and them posting |- in the livestream chat which has been used in the past to mean more to come.

And I think you're right about it not really feeling like an ending but the truth is that it's really hard to write a satisfying ending. Even when you might have an idea how to end it, some people won't like it and will want more anyway. Also if you consider the line "we'll win but not everyone will get out" from Jumpsuit, this is what we got. They won the fight, but Clancy is not getting out. For me it fits despite being a bit unsatifying. Regarding the lore, what if we actually do go back to HeavyDirtySoul? Makes even more sense to have "flashbacks" during the concerts if that's the case. The message about staying alive still applies but is also realistic. You don't really get out of it fully and a promise that you will is naive to say the least, harmful even if I had to be completely honest. I don't really have much time to follow social media, just a video or two summarising everything whenever I find a moment so I can't really speak about that part.

The fact that PS is the end of the story is left ambiguous, which implies to me that it's not. My personal thoughts are we'll get one more single but it will cycle back around to HDS - the start of the cycle.

In the middle where the sun looks like it's making an eye, beside tyler on mountain. Also, same mountain scene but at 3:41 think, lol..near here, on far right side in bright yellow looks like numbers 124. Finally, tyler appears to be pointing to this sun, and in last scene, outside the window is blue sky? But wasn't it dark with torches, lightning, and I'm wondering if he's implying they waited until just before dawn and now the sun's up when Nico has Clancy, Clancy also still has the rope on his hip? After thinking on this for a night and reading, a poem called de ave phoenice , which is a subtle reference to christ and resurrection, the poem in English could apply so well, and actually kinda says east is up, I'm truly thinking at 3:12 in paladin strait mv, that it's trash's head, next to not a vulture of but a Phoenix with the waterfall being the tail. There's also other odd things in the tail and just all over this mountain scene
