Being a teen when music like this was out was everything
I think it was even a good time to be in one of these bands and to truly be appreciated. I'd loved Dashboard since Further Seems Forever, and there was something so beautiful about watching the evolution all the way to the MTV Unplugged where he "debuted" this song, and the look on his face when everyone could already sing along.

My own youthful memories and nostalgia aside, this song still perfectly describes the runaway train experience of young love.
i don't miss this period of my life, cuz it was awful and horrible and depressing. However, because it was so dark, this music was such a shining light and gave me a relateively larger amount of happiness because of how low I was. And that, *THAT* feeling is what I miss.

my favorite love song probably of all time... o the boys i dreamed about in high school when i listened to this over and over ;)
this song will always remind me of first discovering dashboard on a vagrant records sampler and falling in love with them and then feeling conflicted about screaming infidelities making its video debut on TRL because that was so corporate to my 16-year-old sensibilities. i had this tiny little acoustic band that i held so close to my heart that i took all my friends to see and then they were all over television and millions of kids were singing along and it made me feel distant from it, but now I am glad so many were able to share it so that it wouldn't be forgotten and that i could be here now, sharing this song with so many that it meant so much to even if we were a matter of months apart on discovering it. how silly it is to be a teenager. this song has comforted my broken heart for a thousand relationships that never existed and it makes me smile to think it's still doing that today.

This is a long shot but there is a version of hands down where Chris is doing it live on a talk show sitting on a sofa. I cant find it anywhere.
