Just remember.. if somebody cheats on you.. there are others out there for you. It's not the end of the world. My girlfriend just cheated on me, I seek refuge in this song. Remember, it's them that is losing out on YOU. They messed up, and they will never have YOU again. They do not warrant long goodbye's.
Preach brother. It's cool looking back and knowing such a solid album was there for US during times of pain. Chris deserves a thank you from everyone who dated from 96 to 2006
I grew up listening to this band as a kid because my mom loves this band. I'm 16, and I don't care if people think this band is "old" I love it so much. Can't wait to see them in concert in February
Beautiful Song! This is one of those songs that makes you feel exactly what the writer felt when he wrote it. also he has an amazing voice! I wish i could sing a B flat like that
nostalgia is amazing and 16 years or so later I am still listening to the same bands I spent most of my firsts listening to so long ago. yet now they are having reunion tours and I am loving life again.
I went to a Canine Companions for Independence graduation and they were playing this song during the matriculating puppy slideshow, I started to cry my eyes out.... such an emotional graduation ceremony
i seriously cannot explain what i feel when i listen to Dashboard Confessional...some calm -retro-love vibe..like i lived in the past and the past was a good romantic movie.
I thought there would never be anything that would relieve me of the pain I was feeling at the time I heard this and many other songs. Ha, I look back and am so grateful I can hear this song and appreciate it for the simple fact it kicks ass. Really fun song to play, too. Sometimes these pieces are too good for their own good.
Remeber how others would say "like god im getting old", or man time flies", etc.? Well I'm in the same boat and I lost my virginity to a mix with my gf at the time, and Hands down and Postal Service were the main songs that took place, I was 14, and I turn 27 in Dec. Yes, totally agreed..getting old..now I can relate to those people who'd say those things, and everytime I go to listen to Dashboard I go back to my highschool days and what not, and yes, I'm getting old. It sucks but at the same time it's a blessing. Never forget no matter how fucked up your past is. You are. You will always be. Love is forever. Best wishes!
I'm 28 😕 I miss listening to my dashboard CDs in my bedroom. Time passes by too quickly.
I miss being a teen in the early 2000's. (bitter 29 year old lol)
14 years later, it still hits the core. "So kiss me hard... Cause this will be the last time that I let you. "
In my thirties now but whenever I hear this again I'm that angsty middle schooler all over again. And I love it!
2023 I still single 😪

best dashboard song in my opinion
I was 15 when this came out. Great age for the height of the this counter culture...
It is amazing I can feel so nostalgic about, what I considered then, my miserable teenage years.
I can't even explain how this song makes

"You will be back someday, and this awkward kiss, that screams of other people's lips, will be of service to keeping you away."
