Don't know if you're aware of this by now, but Ushijima's feint was not due to him losing stamina. They explained in the anime that Karasuno's players were standing further back on their side of the court waiting for his powerful spikes to be hit against the blockers' hands, therefore the front of the court was left unguarded. Simply a matter of court positioning :3
I feel sometimes that the third years go underappreciated, and then, there comes an episode which shows you how integral of a role they play in Karasuno's dynamic. Daichi saw the inadequacies of the team, but instead of letting that stop him from growing, he demonstrated leadership. First, it was the three staying back to put balls away, and later, it was about fighting to the end. Then, we get to this exact moment where they've helped build a complete team 1) through Daichi's trust and faith in the first and second years, 2) Suga's constant working behind the scenes and his encouragement despite being on the bench, and 3) Asahi's stepping up to be the ace that he is. The new completeness, however, doesn't lead them to settle; it fosters new growth (as we've seen in the training camp arcs and in this specific tournament so far).
They joined the team right after Little Giant left Karasuno. When Karasuno was shown on TV playing at Nationals, it was Little Giant's second year. It was also Hinata's last year in elementary school (just before he started middle school) and Daichi's second year in middle school. So the third years just missed playing with Little Giant.
Ya'll Tendou is too sweet for ya'll to be so mean to him. Bebe is just an master of a Psychological manipulation but that doesn't mean he isn't a good boy.
I freaking love the random old man. I love that he has no name, and no backstory. He's just There. His only motive is going to Karasuno games and being weirdly invested in them. Random Old Man gets my vote for favourite side character. xD
On Patreon, you guys are probably at where the boys are going to Tokyo for the Spring Nationals, so I can drop some info about the Spring Nationals. This is based on real life. 52 teams qualify for the Spring Nationals. The breakdown is as follow: Each of the 47 prefectures gets a representative. 4 prefectures (Hokkaido, Kanagawa, Osaka, and Tokyo) each gets an additional team. I read that, for some reason, the manga/anime replaced Osaka with Aichi. Host prefecture gets an additional team. This year Tokyo is the host, so that's how Nekoma qualified. Since there are 52 teams playing in a 64-team bracket, 12 teams will get a bye in the 1st round. These 12 teams consist of top 4 seeds (top 4 teams from Summer Interhigh) plus 8 random teams by raffle. If Tokyo's prelims winner is not among top 4 seeds, it will be 5th seed and will be among the teams to get a bye. The bracket is divided into 4 blocks, with each of the top 4 seeds in each block. Like in March Madness, semis will potentially be 1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd. So basically, 40 teams will play in the 1st round, with 20 teams advancing to 2nd round, and joined by the 12 teams that got a bye, making it 32 teams. In ep 12, when it said 40 teams disappeared on the 1st day, it includes 20 boys teams and 20 girls teams.
Second🙃 I can't wait to watch this when I get home 👀 Edit: Sting of loss is definitely right. They got so used to losing that because they endured all that they became stronger. I loved the flashback, little Daichi, Asahi and Suga were so cute I wanted to give them all hugs when they lost their match. Flashback feels will always get me sobbing. I really like that the third years were the center (sort of) of this episode. Third set- AHAHAHAH It's the fourth set guys but I'm sure y'all would have realised by now lol. Ushi is literally the epitome of a stamina monster, just like Hinata, so you won't see him losing steam when they're not even in the fifth set yet (although he is definitely kind of tired, I mean who wouldn't be?) But he has really good technique (the kind that is ingrained into your body through reps so that your body still does what you want it to due to muscle memory even when you're tired), so I don't think it'll be too much of a focus on his exhaustion. Poor Kags looked like he was gonna go to sleep with a frown on his face ngl. Like, pls give my boy some rest🥺 Also my boi (Tendou)Satori (oh no not the monster references my heart will break for him again😢) has less stamina than Ushi so I don't think he's as monstery as y'all think he is AHAHHHAAHAH. I'm so looking forward to the next few episodes butttt I'm also sad that y'all are more than halfway done with Season 3(I know you guys finished it already but like, I can dream right?). So excited and eager for more, sadly I have no money to support patreon otherwise I would:(( Thanks for today!!
Gotta give the props to all three of the third years. Daichi - being the captain and the moral center of the team. Playing as a solid team player more than standing out as an individual player. Asahi - Being the Ace, and playing as the final hope for the team. Despite the new blood coming into the team, he plays his part well and doesn't falter at all. Sugawara - The Glue and the Crutch of the team. Despite not getting to play in the opening lineup or much playtime at all, he never gains jealousy and is in the frontlines supporting everyone who's on the court. 👏👏👏
It's nice that you noticed that the Tsukishima brothers have similar voices! I feel that they intentionally hired these voice actors because siblings sometimes have similar voices 👌
I am really glad both of you enjoyed the flashback of the third years! The three are my fav characters! I also agree 100% on everything you two said. While Hinita and Kageyama are the protagonists, and Tsukki and Yamaguchi being a star in the last few epi... I always feel that this game belongs to the third years. The first and second years still have many games ahead of them, but for Daichi, Suga and Asahi, these are probably their last chance to play volleyball in an official setting. I wish the story focused on the third years a little longer and just dedicate this epi to them. They are the ones who did not give up and stick to the team all the way until this moment.
you guys are good reactors but can you guys stop looking at each other? it's subbed, don't look away! and save the long discussion in the end... you guys also joke too much, missing dialogues a lot and you're fine skipping it, not even bother rewinding it... remember the point of these reaction videos "we are watching you to watch"

Well said Kelly!
I love how in the flashback, Daichi practiced receiving by being a ball boy. Little bit of foreshadowing !
Never underestimate what it takes to be a ballboy.

Daichi solid, Suga wise, Asahi strong, Tanaka consistent, Nishinoya impenetrable, Ennoshita trustworthy, Kinoshita hype, Narita dependable, Kageyama unbeatable, Hinata unbrekable, Tsukki smart, Yamaguchi clutch.
the way Hinata was waiting for Kageyama to acknowledge his cover was so cute and funny even in Season 4 he still does the same lol
13:37 “Says the monster”
Don’t do my boy Tendou like that :’(
It's all in good fun don't worry. Tendo is actually one of our favorites!

Suga makes those plays look effortless! Definitely seeing how much work and time he's put into this game.
Sugamama might be on the bench but is definitely a core player.
There’s an OST called “Chemical Change of Encounter” and it’s my most favorite OST from Haikyuu!

Yeah, these guys suck. You would think that after 3 seasons they would learn.
