Musky fishing in Virginia with Pete Maina and Blue Ridge Musky Outfitter

- Earlier this year Pete and Kyle had the opportunity to take a trip to Virginia to target musky with the folks at Blue Ridge Musky. We had a ton of fun spending 3 days on the water with Brent Perky and Sam Scott. With uncooperative weather and warm water, the fish were a bit lazy. It took some work and hard hours on the river but we were able to put a musky in the boat.
Unfortunately, due to a long series of events this video took a bit/lot longer to get up than expected. However, it's here now hope you enjoy it.

It always good to see how hard we work for a few fish a year. Back in the day I would watch shows where they land big fish the whole time and wonder if anyone would notice it was over weeks.

Ive always been a bass angler but over the past month ive caught 3 muskies and i gotta say,they ant nothin like catching one of these beasts! Also, im from smyth county!

Awesome video on how the Next Bite by a musky is a grind. The Blue Ridge Musky guys are great dudes, I have been subbed for a while and comment on their channel and IG often. Even though Brent branched off to do his own guide service or whatever I Hopefully can make it down there to catch my first musky ever. I want to at least get one on a fly and gear tackle. Thank you for sharing.
Great vid. Virginia muskie fishing is tuff.
After fishing for them since
I was fifteen. Trolling is by far the most productive way to catch them. The right speed is the key. Lure color
based on water clarity.

Alex Scott. My friend and mentor. Legendary VA muskie angler. Overall most productive lure on the New River is a J-13.

Well first off, I loved Sam like a brother, but I did nothing wrong, Sam made an executive decision to let me go, because he, in his mind no longer needed me, and got what he wanted, and got where he wanted to be because of my help, But also couldn’t get his way, because of deals he thought was made between him and I, that wasn’t made and got mad, even sugar looks like salt. So don’t EVER trust what someone has to say about another until you know the truth. I will not keep myself in a toxic situation that will ruin my reputation and cause hatred towards me. It’s harder to build bridges that you already burnt
